This elegant Edwardian townhouse, built around 1904, is a small family-run guest house in York. It is a 5-minute walk through the Museum Gardens to the Minster and city centre. The Sycamore Guest House is 10 minutes' walk or a short taxi ride from York Railway Station with its excellent rail links to the rest of England. The guest house also offers free Wi-Fi and guaranteed on-street parking opposite the house at the end of the cul-de-sac. It was very close to old town to visit. Owners were very helpful, breakfast room was bright and roomy and good breakfast. Parking was limited to 3 spots, so if late arriving you had to park elsewhere with a permit which meant dragging luggage. Bathroom was awkward layout to use comfortably.

The owners were very helpful and extremelly friendly, we felt very welcome thoroughout our stay. Breakfast was also very good and the location was excellent for the city. The toilet/shower room was a little cramped but it wasn't really a problem.

Nothing. Be careful if u go there after 20:00 hr. the guest house will not tell u that hot water will not supply and heater will be shut down around 22:00 hr. until morning.Everything is unhappy for me and do not for get to bring toothpaste and brush for men reception.

The guest house was very friendly and helpful. Excellent location for a city trip. Very clean comfortable, very good breakfast. I think ver good value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend it or stay there again. I staid with my sister we are both in 70+ and we were very comfortable and felt very welcome. The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly.

The owners are great , helpful and friendly . The location is perfect , quite but close to the city centre . Parking was well organised . Simple , easy and very comfortable . We had the room with the external bathroom . Not a big problem but obviously better to have a room with an en- suite .

Very friendly and attentive couple who are eager to help in any way. Lovely period property, tastefully decorated. I stayed with our young son and found the hotel to be ideal in every respect. We stayed in an attic bedroom which was upgraded on arrival at no extra charge! Although the room was not large, such sensible use had been made of the space with carefully chosen furniture that we never felt cramped. It was positioned to the rear and had a very open outlook which contributed to the peaceful nature. As did the very comfortable bed, with a duvet to die for. Others have enthused about the breakfast, and rightly so, it was excellent. Very, very good value for money and to reach the city centre it is a short quiet stroll through the museum gardens. What better way to start your day? Nothing!

Very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is great value for money and always cooked fresh. Bed very comfy and was warm especially in this cold weather. Brilliant location tocity centre. Second time we have used this Guest House and will certainly not be the last time, planning a return trip very soon.

Host and hostess, Spiros and Elizabeth are wonderful. Very easy walk to the center of York. The full English breakfast was wonderful next to the warm fireplace.

lovely and friendly hosts and the room was lovely and clean nothing was too much trouble we could come and go as we pleased but if we had a problem we could speak to them about it one of the best short breaks i have had for a long time and we will definetly be going there again i would say the only thing i can think of was yhe parking and we had to park in another street but the host gave us a permit and tried everyday to get us closer ehich we evebtually did if we go again we are going on the train
