Room and staff polite.
Poor service and poor quality breakfast.
Quiet and welcoming.
Poor choice of fruit and alternatives to a cooked breakfast. Service a little slow.
Nice bar area
Food was poor
Everything!! What a lovely place and so much history to it as well
Next time we go there we will ask for a firmer bed it was nice but too soft!
The breakfast was outstanding and the service also. Great location, would not hesitate to book there again.
The mattress was a little on the soft side.
the fire alarm green light - too bright- stopped me sleeping
very friendly helpful staff very comfortable beds delicious breakfast- excellent value for money
Swift and friendly check in, beautifully clean and spacious room, bed super comfy, very dog friendly, loved the place
Nothing not to like.
The receptionist was welcoming, and the staff in the resturant were pleasant. The rooms were clean. The waiter was attentive and knowledgable Food was good , and quick service.
There was a musty smell as soon as you walk into the accommodation block, there was only one towel each, only One packet of biscuits ... the menu in the room is different from the one used in the restaurant , the room offers a two course for a set price with a free drink but when we went to the resturant it was £2.00 more expensive each and no free drink and different menu , when we asked we were told it was about 3 months out of date ... Were disappointed we were not offered the menu or cost that was advertised in the room ... With a free drink as it was just a pint ... Noisy in the morning with people leaving early as there sounded like cobbles outside that other customers were dragging their suitcases over at 6.30 am. There was not a veg option on the set menu.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good quality and good value for money. Breakfast was excellent
Nice location Fab good
Rooms dated we chose this over a premier inn thinking we were going to get a more luxurious room this wasn't the case. The outside of the hotel looks lovely, inside bar and restaurant were very nice the rooms really let it down.
Safe parking. Pub in main building very cosy.
Surprised to find the hotel advertises it's location in Woking, when it is actually in Ripley. Ripley is a pleasant town but has no choice of restaurants and very few shops. Booked this hotel because it was meant to be pet friendly. We asked for a deluxe room in the main building, but on check-in was told we had to down-grade to a tiny room in the stable block as this was the only room for guests with dogs. After eating in the restaurant that evening, my wife had a severe case of food poisoning.
Staff very helpful,room clean
Continental breakfast, would prefer English for the money
It was great having a dog-friendly room with water and biscuits ready and waiting there for Lucy's arrival! The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the breakfasts, with a wide selection of cold and cooked choices available. The comfortable ground-floor room was ideal for me as I am disabled. The room was quiet, due to its location, with no noise from the wedding party who were also staying.
We were disappointed, upon returning from a day out on the Sunday, to find that no food (either in the restaurant or the bar) is available on Sunday evenings.
We enjoyed staying here on a Sunday night before going to Gatwick airport. Beware no food served here on Sunday night which isn't mentioned on site. However enjoyed a great curry down road 5 mins walk or less . Breakfast was lovely
Room was very hot jus needed a fan a windows didn't really open
Put in disabled room with handrails everywhere, no bath but instead shower with plastic seat!
location building character good room size room facilities good breakfast
My wife and I prefer a firm mattress. The mattress in room was thick but very soft thus not getting a good nights sleep which otherwise spoiled an enjoyable stay.
The room The bed The free WiFi
The receptionist on checkout was unhelpful and unfriendly to the point of being rude. Sunday night the hotel does not do its normal menu, I was told there was one dish, chicken linguine, when I asked how much it was I was told I don't know, then a shrug, then a couple of pounds, a tiny portion arrived and it was billed at £2. But surely they can do better than that!
Room was hot to sleep in and noise from wedding reception kept us awake as It went on until at least midnight.
We booked a four poster bed through booking.com then received a call to say they had a wedding on and couldn't give us the room we booked. Not great at all.....
Location - close to the excellent Drakes Restaurant
Poor room appearance and finish No air conditioning and uncomfortably hot No cold running water Wifi did not work Damp smell in entrance to the accommodation wing
Excellent comfort and the staff couldn't have helped out more. My partner is pregnant and they supplied extra fans (it was very warm) and ice buckets to cool her down with no problems or attitude. As it is an old building it had a very unique and interesting feel.
Needs a new coat of paint.
Not a lot
Food far too expensive
