Everything was fine. The original interior was very attrictive. The Lounge could have been a bit more cosy and a place to have a pre dinner drink. The bar area was a bit small.

Nice coaching Inn with good ambience. Good access and location. Some niggling issues with fixtures and fittings in the room that could be easily resolved with maintenance. Pretentious restaurant does not necessarily suit the business traveller.

Fair value for money, good location. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. Others were completely the opposite - so much so that I wouldn't stay again. Limited dining options, no light snack or bar food option.

Friendly service. Putred smell coming from the bathroom, mainly the shower cubicle. Smelt highly of mould. Had to keep the bathroom door closed and spray deoderant to try to mask the smell. Also, the plug sockets tripped twice during the evening....when was a little worrying...especially when we noticed that the iron I was using had an out of date Pad Test, and the replacement one had no date of purchase. Did need to stay in the area for an additional night unexpectedly...hence, didnt stay at The Talbot! We did inform the chap of the putrid smell when we checked out, but he didnt really seem very interested!

The room was clean. I phoned on the day of our booking to book a table for dinner. By chance I asked if our room had a bath, as on the extra details part of the online booking I requested this if possible. My booking for that night could not be found, despite me giving my booking reference. I was asked to give my telephone number & that someone would phone me back. They did, told me the booking hadn't been received from booking.com but to compensate my booking was being upgraded to an exectutive room with a bath. A little stressed but satisfied we travelled to the hotel. We booked in, got to our room, no bath. I telephoned reception to be told that a room with a bath had not been reserved for us & that the girl had spoken to that morning was new. We were offered another room with a larger shower. We looked at it & accepted it simply because we couldn't be bothered with any more hassle. In getting changed for dinner we discovered we had an iron but no ironing board, & one tiny shower gel & shampoo to share between the two of us. At dinner the menu was different to the one in our room(more expensive items)& in hindsight we wish we'd gone to the lovely looking resturant over the road. On going to bed we discovered our bed was in fact two singles joined together with considerably different height mattresses. In the morning we were in a rush to check out so asked the girl to use the card details they had on hold for me & email me the reciept. I've still not had that email.

Great location. Beautiful Inn. Rooms were immaculate. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff The hair dyer in the room did not work, easliy fixed, but should be checked before we were given access. Breakfast pricing is extremely expensive £5.99 for continental and a full £7.99 extra for eggs. This was not made clear at the start, it was explained like it was £5.99 then £7.99 to include eggs. The cooked breakfast was tiny, and certainly not worth the £7.99. The continental was nice though.

Reception Staff were excellent. We only ate breakfast in the restaurant so I cannot comment on the dining facilities, but the breakfast staff were offhand and the breakfast could easily have been included in the room price The room was large but for a hotel which advertises itself as a wedding venue, surprisingly there was not a full length mirror in the room.

Atmosphere good. It is not an obvious off-the-plan room. Bedside light bulbs absent. Several other lighting fixtures not working. Shower facilities unusual and reasonable for young but not mature.

Convenient location for our purposes. Parking. Cosy pub in house and Eating in house convenience. Courteous 'upgrade' when I questioned pricing. shabby room ; although it had been recently updated, old paper was peeling off ceiling, skirtings coming away from wall, bed sloped (could have had blocks to even it) Tiny unstable shelf in bathroom. Too much light outside and noisy. No alarm call as requested. (We did get free breakfast cos of this) Horrible coffee at breakfast.

We thought that the staff were probably the most polite and helpful that we have come across, they are also well turned out but have no air of stuffiness, a real credit to the hotel.

A nice big hotel room with great comfy bed - one of the best nights sleep!! Staff had a lack of apathy, the food, though well presented was dry and had to ask twice for the chips - they never arrived. And no shower in the deluxe room - surely this is standard?

Friendly staff. Plenty of parking space. Does not warrant 4 stars. Much peeling paint and general shabbiness - needs renovation. Room (described as spacious) was small and poorly sound-proofed -conversation at 2am in adjoining room was clearly audible. Bath water tepid (although radiators stinging hot) Tv was off-line and required 2 calls to Reception to install PIN. 2 lights not working. Could be so much better with some investment and application. Great pity - I would not stay there again unless it was much improved.

Restaurant Service Wide choice for Breakfast Receptionist greeting me on arrival with 'Hiya' and later with 'You all right there?' Dinner menu unchanged from previous stay in Nov 2012. Ground floor room. Room (114) somewhat 'worse for wear'.
