Breakfast full - 1 bacon 1 sausage black pudding egg and garlic mushroom .. Not the best
Usual friendly staff Size of room....thank you Breakfast, and supper to a lesser extent
Both dinner and breakfast would be better served on hot plates!
Staff,countryside and places to visit.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the meals were excellent. The hotel is well situated to visit many areas and attractions. We hope to make further visits.
The bed was too hard for my wife but ok for me.
STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE. FOOD GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY ACCOMODATION GOOD PERHAPS COULD DO WITH UPDATING, HOWEVER OUR STAY WAS AT THE END OF THE SEASON. OVERALL I CERTAINLY WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE
Food did not live up to the standard one would expect of the hotel.
We had some visits to make in the are and the access to major roads and places was fantastic. Great sized hotel with lots of parking, food was outstanding and looking forward to going again. Just lock the bedroom door when in the room. Really enjoyed the stay thank you.
Nothing really, carpets were a bit to busy for our liking. On the day of departure when getting ready to leave. Staff came in twice. It's 11am checkout so would just check guests have left before going into to room. Everything else perfect.
Staff lovely and friendly as usual, beds good, food good, great location for a climbing trip and excellent value for money - we will be back next year for sure, The fiances collection of Tankjerville Teds is growing!! :)
Had a great time, food was fantastic and staff were first class. Only thing to be improved was in-room entertainment, tv was hopeless but didn't stop this being one of our best short breaks ever.
My friend and I stayed here whilst walking the St. Cuthbert's Way. The room was quite small but adequate. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However the best part was the food. My friend and I are both vegetarian and can cook reasonably well ourselves, so are sometimes disappointed by the veggie food on offer. We had a sweet potato tagine which was delicious.
No wifi in the room, apparently we were too far away.
Big room Good food Friendly staff
Needs a bit of refurbishment
Lovely little bar with friendly staff. Nice grounds to the hotel. Bed comfortable.
Loose tiles in bathroom. Layout of bathroom not good, toilet too close to wall which was uncomfortable. Meal in restaurant, had steak pie but it came with either chips or potatoes and veg of the day, which was carrots, parsnips and swede, too much starch, very heavy and no extra gravy. Deserts too sweet. Not enough room in the bar to go for a drink after meal had to go back to room. Breakfast ok but why only chipolata sausage instead of proper sausages.
relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Good food .
Latest breakfast time was 9am - perhaps extending this a bit would be good
Almost everything was fine. Characterful hotel. It's an old building so don't expect the blandness of a travel inn type of place. Far more interesting. Dinner was fantastic, and excellent value overall.
wi fi didnt extend to room, but could connect well in bar.
Very nice room. excellent breakfast, and good choice of well cooked meals. Good situation for touring the area. Staff very helpful. Old style hospitality.
From checking in at reception through to restaurant and breakfast staff - everybody went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.
Food excellent,dog friendly,lovely staff
Breakfast could be hotter
All aspects of the visit were good or better.
Only comment was that the bar closed early
Staff very friendly and helpful. Masses of parking. Wide choice on breakfast menu.
Windows too stiff for me to open or close.
We thoroughly enjoyed the stay at the Tankerville Arms - plenty of assistance when we needed it and plenty of privacy too. There was a good selection at breakfast for all tastes and the fish we had for our evening meal was super (if a bit large!!). The puddings were scrummy. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and very warm in the evenings. We are looking forward to next year when we hope to stay here again.
Great ambience, very friendly staff
I liked there welcome for dogs with no extra charge also loved a bath in room much better than a shower only.after long day walking
Fish and chips Staff Location And great value, Bar
Noise in room in mornings..lorry outside leaving, no lie in. Room lighting was not good enough to read by. Shower curtain and lack of head room standing in bath
BIG room, helpings, welcome
