The bed. And the fact the bar was just downstairs. The lady on the desk was lovely.
Bedroom & Bathroom were very clean as well as spacious, the bed was comfortable.
Lack of attention to the details in decoration but also in respect to customer needs: there was nobody at the reception of the hotel, need to ask several times for dairy-free products, little options for breakfast...
We enjoyed the quietness of the hotel with its friendly staff. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were always willing to help.
Although the room was a bit dated, the bed was very comfy (more so than the bed I had at the Novotel the two previous nights which was very foamy), plus the room was extremely clean. The staff friendly and the food, although not haute cuisine, was more than adequate - and yummy.
The hotel was very bright and clean staff very friendly
On arrival was told there was a problem with the toilet in our room so we stayed in the garden house but it had no wifi and was slightly out of the way but it was clean and bright. We went to the hotel the next morning for breakfast which we were very disappointed with the full English would have been better with beans and the fried egg was like a lump of rubber and hard. Apart from that it was a nice hotel.
Shower, bed, evening meal
Pleasant staff Good food Comfortable room
I came away from this hotel feeling so rested and refreshed and the breakfast was best ever . The hotel is so full of character and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Staff all so friendly.
Nothing to dislike .
The atmosphere nice and chilled / relaxed
Very friendly staff, our dog was made so welcome.Room was comfortable and very clean.Dinner was very good and our dog was very welcome in the bar.Coal fire was cosy.
All the staff were very pleasant, food was good. Relaxing couple days will defiantly stay again.
very friendly staff
The room was comfortable and.hotel facilities were fine
The hotel decor and particularly the pictures were poor
Comfortable. Old school.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself provided a lovely warmth and ambiance. Definitely would recommend
There was nothing to dislike
Friendly staff on reception very welcoming and even the barman had a smile every now and then. Food was excellent including evening meal and breakfast WiFi was excellent in room Real Ale was very nice and well kept great value for money. We will be returning
Staff on bar kept too busy to put wood and coal on fire which was a shame as the fact that this hotel has open fires is one of it,s major winter attractions. Shame the central fire in the bar is not used anymore.I think that this feature alone would attract custom to more than make up for cost. maybe just on weekends. room was cold until we switched heating on. Radiators all seemed to be off.
lovely helpful and friendly staff, would stop again.
a tat trivial I would agree but I was disappointed with the ceiling hight in the bedroom.
Good location. Comfortable and clean facilities.
The breakfasts were excellent but the two evening meals we had at extra cost were not very good. The vegetables were not local and mange tout and sweet corn did not go well with scampi & chips. Two nights later the same vegetables were served again with a different main dish. Tasteless and disappointing.
Breakfast full - 1 bacon 1 sausage black pudding egg and garlic mushroom .. Not the best
Usual friendly staff Size of room....thank you Breakfast, and supper to a lesser extent
Both dinner and breakfast would be better served on hot plates!
Staff,countryside and places to visit.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the meals were excellent. The hotel is well situated to visit many areas and attractions. We hope to make further visits.
The bed was too hard for my wife but ok for me.
STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE. FOOD GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY ACCOMODATION GOOD PERHAPS COULD DO WITH UPDATING, HOWEVER OUR STAY WAS AT THE END OF THE SEASON. OVERALL I CERTAINLY WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE
Food did not live up to the standard one would expect of the hotel.
