The price. Cleanliness Quality of breakfast and meals Friendly staff
Difficult to find space to put things Hospitality tray on the landing No WiFi in the bedroom
Not a lot. Bed linen very clean. Mattresses not so good.
Pub really could do with a refurbishment. Tatty furniture in bar.
It was good how their was optional tea and coffee upstairs for guests. Staff were friendly to us when we were their.
The wifi didn't work and was poor reception in room, that's all.
the room was spacious and clean. The en suite facilities were impressive and the Breakfast was excellent in all i had a most enjoyable stay.
Clean room Friendly staff Good bar
Wifi did not work for me Kettle in room to make drinks would have been handy
Staff friendliness and willingness to help
location was ideal for the roads in the village , secure parking (free) rooms clean food was great
rooms were not all ready but then again the owner had to attend a funeral so not really his fault
I had booked two nights with the tavistock arms for my 30th, arriving on the Friday 25th and departing on the 27th of july, on arriving i was told the booking they had was on the saturday night and sunday night and they blamed booking.com! so we had to stay in a b&b up the road which was not to the standard of any of what i would expect, and on leaving on sunday i still had to pay full price even though i had my first night in a grotty b&b!! have to say it ruined a what should have been the start of a lovely weekend but i will not be ever entering this place again and will be contacting booking.com for a refund on my first night
Room and en-suite were clean, staff were helpful.
Small car-park full, parked in public car park, had to move vehicle during day. Hot drink pouches had run out, non in hotel, no hot drinks for the rooms. Room was sweltering, no fan, window opened to busy road junction. Wifi good signal couldn't log in on either computor or phone.
Room was really clean for this price.
No wi-fi at all Bar under room, noisy - couldn't sleep to 2am.
Its a quite cosy place good land lord. The food was great good all-round place to stop at and explore the surrounding country side.
Their WiFi needs working on. Could not get signal while I was there. It does work just patchy I was told
Room spotless, breakfast and the service in the mornings excellent.
Booking in was a bit 'Fawlty Towers' host appeared disinterested, as though we were an inconvenience. Did not see them for the rest of our stay so not problem. T.V. poor, no B.B.C. reception at all.
We were unable to stay at the Tavistock Arms however we were place next door in a B&B which was equally nice. There had been a problem with the booking - but the gentleman had gone out of his way to find an alternative that was suitable to our requirements. Very lovely people who greeted us. Although dated, the room was quaint and had everything we needed. Extremely spacious - much better than the rooms friends had in the centre of tavistock. Very clean. Lovely dog - who liked to play but didn't like to share his toys!
We were not aware of the change until arriving at 9:00pm. Location was very limited for finding breakfast food.
upon arrival i was welcomed with friendliness! shown my double en suite room which was clean and well appointed! the food drink ant atmosphere was great! bob micheal and matthew are a great team and i have trouble,in my opinion to agree with some of the negative points but everyone has their own views! but if you want a friendly clean and very reasonable stay you will not go wrong at the tavistock arms hotel!!
having to leave!!
Friendly staff, very good beer and lovely food. Breakfast cooked to order!
A nice comfortable pub/hotel,friendly people.
wi-fi was not good
The staff were so friendly they made you feel like you were one of the locals. Fantastic would love to go back again.
There was nothing I could fault them on.
steps to en-suite bathroom
Quality of the food inc the breakfast and the general atmosphere of the place and that was down to good hosts. Overall, certainly would stay again.
Outside looked a little shabby and the decor in the restaurant wasnt too good.
The location was perfect for me for a one night stay. The owner was helpful and pleasant.
Needed wifi for work and it was poor connectivity
VERY FRIENDLY STAFF,EXCELLENT FOOD AND DRINK,CLEAN AND TIDY ROOM
TV HAD BAD SIGNAL AND COULDN'T GET WI FI.WASNT ENOUGH TOILET ROLL ON FIRST NIGHT.
Bob made us very welcome in this lovely old pub. Wayne who did the breakfasts was a star, he even bought us coffee in bed one morning as the coffee making machine needed topping up. Lovely wholesome Breakfasts. The evening meals are all home cooked & very tasty, which is quite rare these days.
Not really a gripe, but a bit of advice. After eating such lovely food here a decent locally made sausage would go down well at breakfast. It is a bit of a bugbear of mine but cheap sausages often let the breakfast down when it is so easy to buy top quality local sausages.
Bathroom reasonably clean. Looked recently refurbished.
Quite a dirty and dusty room. Dusty and very old and grubby carpet. Coffee machine in the hallway restricted use by timer. Car parking barely adequate. Overpowering smell of bleach from the bathroom. No hand towels. Communal areas especially stairs need complete refurbishing uncluding new carpet. No hair dryer.
Friendly staff Clean
Bed was comfortable Showers and toilet was clean Provided television Provided enough towels Room was small but comfortable/ cozy Good value for money Staff member did help to de-ice my car in the morning. Considerate that no noise after 11:30 for individuals to get a peaceful nights sleep
The wifi didn't connect after several attempts and typing in the password several times correctly The carpet was damp Room could have been warmer One member of staff Didn't get breakfast as there was no one in the building to serve me, they arrived just as I needed to leave for a sports training course and unlocked the door to let me out, breakfast would have been important as it was a sports course and had to nick biscuits from the course as my breakfast. Don't call your business the Tavistock arms when you are not even in Devon! People can assume that your pub is in Tavistock in Devon rather than on the Cornish boarder.... Perhaps call yourself Gunnislake arms as ur pub is in Gunnislake Possibly a DVD player would have been nice. (Improvement)
