We loved everything about the place. All the staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was amazing, all freshly cooked and there was a good selection on the menu to chose from, and all very reasonably priced. The room was excellent, really clean, comfortable and well equipped. It's very tastefully decorated throughout the whole place and has a very relaxing feel to it.
Our room was above the main entrance so very noisey due to smokers and revellers outside late at night.
The breakfast was great, enhanced by the excellent breakfast waitress
Comfortable and relaxing bar area with leather sofas. Excellent food both in quantity and quality. Fantastically comfortable bed.
bed was comfortable, large room, breakfast was good
no residents bar, noise from road traffic
cobwebs on window above bed some lighting not working
Very welcoming staff. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotless. Had our evening meal in the restaurant and it was delicious. Would return here again.
A bit impersonal. Wifi was non existent.
Staff attentiveness and friendliness Cleanliness Quality of food Good room size
Stayed overnight here and wish it was longer. Decor and staff ... Fantastic. Will be back very soon
We had another super stay at the Thatched Cottage. The food is wonderful.
Lovely rooms, good location for us.
Room right by noisy junction when the window was open
Very comfortable room, food in evening was fantastic and breakfast also excellent with generous portions. Staff very helpful.
Very near road but our bedroom window faced onto road and caused us no problems.
Warm and friendly, good service, excellent food, very comfortable. Nice old world property carefully renovated.
Proximity of road junction with traffic lights made for noise at night in our particular room if we had the window open.
Bed was comfortable. Room was pleasant and of a good size.
The air conditioning unit on the floor below was noisy when it was running, rendering it impossible to open the window during hot weather. We were advised to book in the restaurant to avoid disappointment. We honestly wish we had not.......the starter was accompanied by plates covered with sooty and greasy deposits. One main course steak was inedible. A member of staff was seen to put fresh cutlery onto seat cushions, just vacated by other diners, whilst preparing to lay the table for the next diners. One waitress had numerous trailing wrist bands that could easily have dangled into various things including customers meals. The breakfast was lacklustre and after the experience of the night before we were reluctant to experience the standard of cooking again. The senior staff were apologetic when matters were raised. More staff training is needed in good hygiene. We would not wish to stay here again.
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff
My room was over the bar which was noisy. I could only sleep when the bar closed.
Lovely setting and friendly staff
Not much sleep due to the warm room. Fan not very effective.
Staff and owners very friendly. Good site for cheddar and longleat
No extra beds as not geared up for children. That said they did accommodate us and we shared with our children over the 2 rooms and free upgrade to larger room for a work around
Not a standard cloned hotel, personal and full of character. Friendly helpful staff, good food both in the evening and at breakfast. Would stay again.
Few cobwebs in room, but ceiling was very high. Wifi was a little intermittent - but then it was free!
Location (we were going to glastonbury so was perfect - 5 minute drive from the free shuttle bus at Bath & West showground). The room was really clean and bed very comfy. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast wasn't great but overall I would recommend the Thatched Cottage.
Very friendly staff, more than helpful. Very Clean Had dinner at the restaurant..food Excellent.
Everything. Comfortable, relaxed and friendly. Very efficiently run, standards you might expect but don't always find in a much more expensive establishment.
Mattresses were extremely comfortable and I woke without the usual back ache. The room was beautiful and spotless. The food delicious, especially the eaton mess desert with banana and passion fruit, possibly the yummiest pudding ever! We left early am for a festival so would have liked breakfast served earlier. All in all a great place to stay, will go back. Staff very accommodating.
Everyone was so helpful and pleasant. Food was excellent!
