Nice atmosphere. Quiet well equipped room with nice touches, i.e. sparkling & still bottles of water. Excellent breakfast cooked to order. Large menu in the evening & nothing too much trouble.
Nothing really. New pillows would have made sleeping more comfortable but that's just us.
Size of batjroom
If you're looking to experience a bit of country hospitality in Devon this is the place to stay. The hosts, room and food were all excellent. The size lent itself to being able to easily interact with locals as well as other guests making it a very enjoyable stay.
May be difficult if you have a lot of luggage and have an issue with stairs.
Friendliness, great food, evening meal well priced and excellent, breakfast to keep you going all day
Rooms a bit small and need some freshening up. and noise from gents loos adjacent to Room 1 will keep you awake. Rooms a bit overpriced for this standard
Friendly staff, clean room, and good food.
Although a bit remote the hotel is ideal for touring Devon, the breakfast sets you up for the day and in the evening the food is spot on, try the steak. A very good young chef. All the staff do their best to make you feel at home. We would definitely return for more of the same.
Enjoyed both evening meal and breakfast. Great food. staff were pleasant.
Bedroom had very thin walls and shower toilets area were a little cramped. Could hear people upstairs using toilet, etc, which was very off putting and made us feel uncomfortable. Otherwise bedrooms were reasonably well fitted and clean.
The rooms were clean, staff were lovely and food excellent.
Rooms were a little cosy and cobwebs in bathroom. A dinner, staff went missing on occasions.
