Modern, stylish and spotless. Everything you could need provided in the room. Lovely breakfast. Relaxed and friendly hosts. Will definitely book again.
This guest house is lovely. Nice local pubs and restaurants, close to Cambridge, an hour and a half from London. All round great place.
The room is fantastic. The host is very polite. Everything is clean. Nice rural area.
Excellent rooms with a nice walk to the village pub.
Be warned that they only except CASH! & that they are NOT VAT registered and therefore would increase a business stay by 20%
Beautiful house set out so well. Friendly hosts. Immaculate.
peaceful and quiet in a wonderful location, yet handy for st ives. We catered for ourselves at breakfast as we were staying out late the previous night, however I wish we could have tried the cooked breakfast , especially if it was as wonderful as everything else.
can't think of a thing
The care and attention with which the accommodation had been designed and maintained. A high standard has been achieved. The owners were very helpful and understanding and were able to recommend a splendid pub 'the Cock' in the same village for excellent food. All memorable for the right reasons.
Not a dislike as such but when walking to and from the village centre at night the use of a torch is recommended to make up for the poor street lighting.
Sumptuous very comfortable bed. Quiet location. Clean. Friendly staff, very welcoming.
Quality bathroom, village location, helpful host.
Breakfast add on costs
Stuart and Nicky were excellent hosts, with lots of local knowledge, and recommended where to eat for our evening meal. We stayed in 'the Doghouse', which has its own front door and a lovely huge, comfortable bed you could get lost in, and everything you need for a 'home from home'
hard to think of anything!
Comfortable bed Very good en-suite Quiet location Very clean and fresh throughout Room very well equipped Good WiFi signal
Off-road parking close to bedrooms at front
The hosts, the room, the house, the location, good breakfast options. Close to park and ride for Cambridge guided bus, nice pubs nearby in village. Some good walks and historical points of interest nearby.
Not much. Room was a little stuffy, but not too bad. Might be a problem on a hot humid night, but that seems to be a general issue for accommodation in uk and Europe.
Unfortunately we were only staying for 1 night but would love to have stayed longer in this . luxurious accommodation.Would certainly book again if we are in this area..
We stayed self catering and everything was supplied to enable us to do that. Local pub Ax and Compass was good and withing easy walking. Room was clean, modern and confortable.
Local restaurant "The Cock" very overpriced.
The owners were friendly and very helpful. It was like visiting friends. The rooms were tastefully done, clean and very comfortable. Loved the big head rain shower heads. I would not hesitate to have my friends stay there. Our visit was enjoyable. My husband wanted to cancel the remainder of our trip and stay at the guest house for a few more days.
Everything was wonderful. Can't think of any negatives.
The room had a bi folding door onto the garden with seating. The decor is contemporary and fresh. The bed was huge and comfortable. Breakfast room is to die for. Owners very friendly and helpful. Location in a lovely road but need a car.
We were made to feel very welcome and found the owner to be friendly and relaxed. Looking forward to staying again!
Nice place and friendly people.
Very hospitable and friendly
Did not take payment by credit card
Clean, bright and roomy, and a warm welcome
Immaculate decor. Cleanliness. Peace and quiet. Manner and attitude of owners. Free parking. Free wifi.
Shared bathroom / restroom. (Although fairly reflected in the price.)
Location is perfect for exploring the Cambridge area without the hassles of being IN Cambridge. The Thorpe Guesthouse is beautifully presented and hosts Stewart and Nicki offer outstanding hospitality, helpful suggestions for things to do and places to dine in the area and a warm reception, without being intrusive.
Nothing - all very good.
We were made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived. Bedroom was really comfortable, bathroom was lovely, great shower. Cannot fault breakfast, in fact cannot fault anything.
Excellent location for travelling north if you need an overnight stop. We had arrived in the UK at Harwich late in the day and was great stop. Stewart was a great host and very interested in our travels. Also cooked a great breakfast! Room was lovely with everything you needed
No negatives at all
Friendly welcome. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable stay. Gorgeous garden.
Would have preferred breakfast to have been in with the price!
