The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was first rate. A good location in Chagford and within easy reach of Dartmoor.
Great bed. Had an excellent meal at the Resturant. Friendly staff
The staff were excellent. The fireplace and decor lovely. The chef deserves special mention too as the meals served were of an excellent quality and presentation. Breakfast was of a very high standard.
As our suite was in the oldest part of the hotel ( room 15) the floor sloped in the bedroom which was disconcerting.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Food was amazing, for both dinner and breakfast. Really comfortable and cosy place to stay in a lovely village.
We stayed in the suite which was lovely with a massive comfy bed. We were having dinner at Gidleigh Park which is nearby so it was a cheaper option to stay here and it was nicer to stay in the the village.
Great location, little village with nice food and cosy fire place. Strongly recommend!
Pretty much everything ...
Chagford not easy to access if you're a nervous driver ...
Very friendly helpful staff and delicious food. Clean, organised and efficient.
Stall where polite and helpful the breakfast was excellent.
The room was cold as it was a cold November rainy night, i could't bare to even shower in the morning because of the cold. We had dinner at restaurant and the portion size was so small that after dinner I had todrive to the next town looking foe more food. The restaurant bill was £56 winch we have paid and left plenty of tip as accustomed. However next morning an charged of £62 was added to my room for the dinner of the night before. later that charge was drop by the manager but I found that very unprofessional for an hotel of your caliber. Also I have booked the classic double room and I had the impression from your website that I will be staying in this grand historic building and instead I was given a room winch felt like a basement with a small window overlooking the courtyard in an modern building or extension. l do count myself fortunate that I only had to stay one night.
The first thing that struck us was how friendly the staff were. Breakfast options where great. Room cosy and clean which added to a perfect stay.
Not enough parking but check with the three crowns as parking is limited to particular rooms (not all rooms are allocated a space).
Lovely Location, Very Friendly Staff. Fantastic Character to the Hotel. Modern yet maintained the traditional theme
Friendly and welcoming. My room felt private, was excellently furnished and very clean, and overall was very comfortable. The public area was relaxed and comfortable. I had a very good evening meal and breakfast. Lovely location for walking around the village.
Nothing - everything was excellent.
It was a lovely place to relax. The room, the bar ,the restaurant, the staff made it a memorable experience
Tiny moan, Bathroom bit on the small side!
Staff very friendly; food awesome, quirky old building. Had a very good stay here; would recommend.
Only issue was that we wanted to sleep with the window open and located at the front of the building, we were subjected to a lot of noise overnight. From the church bells (on the opposite side of the road), to early milk deliveries; we didn't sleep much!
The comfort of this beautiful old pub. Open fire to sit in front of. Lovely comfortable room, Thoroughly enjoyable dinner & breakfast. Staff very helpful.
Clean, modern, great food. Fab restaurant.
2nd visit to this hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. The suite we stayed in was lovely ... The bed was enormous !!
Friendly knowledgeable staff, comfortable warm surroundings set in a lovely village.
Nothing to dislike
Luxurious room, very good selection of teas and coffees in the room. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Bar service sporadic as staff seemed to be also working in the restaurant.
Typical and most lovely coaching inn style of hotel, well deserved of it's rating, by merit of excellent staff, great food and comfortable surroundings. Original features including meandering landings and passageways with uneven floors which just add to the hundreds of years of character appearance of the building but with a glazed covering to the restaurant creating delightful surroundings for breakfast.
Limited parking in the courtyard but readily available on street
Clean and comfortable room, accommodating staff. Quality of food was good overall. Location was great.
Slow service at the table not enough staff present in our function room to cope the poor waitress did her best but was left on her own to take food orders for 20 serve wine and meals. This was embarrassing in front of our guests.
The warm welcome on arrival The good food . The staff who were extremely helpful
Fantastic hotel and Resteraunt only problem was internet connection was poor and mobile phone signal. However this could be down to the network I am on
Very helpful and friendly staff. a very comfortable bed with cotton bedlinen High standard of cleanliness Nice ambiance
The location on the edge of Dartmoor with good road connections to almost everywhere, and if you do not drive there is the public bus to make getting around possible. No searching for parking at the hotel as they allocate a space clearly marked just for you for your entire stay The restaurant at dinner was a delightful surprise for its quality food and good service all at a reasonable price. Breakfast was adequate and well presented. Our room (21) was spacious and well provided with all amenities to make ones stay comfortable. The bathroom is of a good size and well equipped.
My only niggle was the shower over the bath, I prefer a separate shower as getting in and out of a bath can be a bit tricky for me
