Very friendly helpful staff, beautiful setting and the food was superb!!
There was nothing bad! All fab!
The food is fantastic and the room was very nice, great location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the room wasn't the cheapest but all the luxuries were included in the cost. I'd defiantly return.
Room a little cold but staff were quick to adress this, we booked a superior room at £115 which I feel was a little expensive . That said I have no complaints as the room was lovely and the food was amazing.
We wanted a room for the night and this was more than adequate.
Nothing we got what we wanted
The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The food in breakfast was very good and the evening meal was lovely. The best bit was relaxing in the bar next to the fire with a nice glass of wine reading the papers. It paid to stay in a Superior room as you get a allocated parking space at the hotel. I wouldn't have liked to find somewhere to park.
Amazing suite which felt special and welcoming. Staff wonderful and our evening meal very good and excellent value. Thank you
The scrambled egg in the morning could do with some improvement!
Lovely newly refurbished room and the most comfortable bed! Excellent breakfast too.
Great bedroom and very pleased to have real coffee provided
Had to chase the staff to remind them about reserving me a parking space even though we had emailed the request! Restaurant lacks atmosphere
Food excellent and very friendly staff
Light fitting too big for size of the room
The staff were friendly. As soon as we walked in our room it smelt so fresh and was really clean. The food was really good. Excellent choice for breakfast. Attention to detail
being picky...couldn't find the hairdryer
Lovely old building beautifully renovated and furnished, in a lovely village. The bar in the hotel had an open log fire and comfortable chairs. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Given how quiet the inn was at this time of the year I think it would have made good business sense to have given us a slightly larger room - more likely to have made us go back. The one we were in was nicely furnished but very, very small - the bed was comfortable but took up most of the room. Food was really original and good. Car parking is very limited.
Probably a little quiet for some but almost inevitable at this time of year. Excellently located comfortable accommodation and charming and attentive staff.
There was nothing too dislike. Parking might be a little irksome if busy but there is a convenient public car park.
Location was great ..lovely little village.Breakfast and dining room was absolutely divine. The thatched roof building and history was fasinating.
This Is the first time ever that we have made a negative written review..ever. Our room was a total disappointment after the 5 star reviews we had read. Shower was sooo small, you were unable to turn in it being a corner hob style and we definitely are not large people. That old saying, can't swing a cat.. Well the cat just wouldn't even fit.. Upon checking out and just mentioning how small the shower was, the lass checking us out said that "well you do have the smallest room in the hotel"... Oh really!! Wrong way to respond. The bathroom mirror was to the side of the vanity, making it impossible to really use, the bath and shower dispenser was on the vanity as there wasn't the room obviously in the shower. A coffee cup had a huge chip in it.
Shower was small but good. Location was great in a lovely town. Staff were welcoming but clearly required more training. Bed was comfortable. Named car space for parking was very useful as parking can be difficult in this lovely village. Dressing gowns soft and fluffy. Nice products in the bathroom and a good range of hot drinks in the bedroom.
We booked well ahead and made a point of explaining that my wife is gluten free to which we received a charming email confirming that this was not a problem. However when we arrived for dinner we were told that they had 'run out' of gluten free products which of course impacted on breakfast too. Staff were slow to serve (waited at the bar for 15 minutes and there was no-one else there!), the food was bland, the table dirty, no salt on the table, service was inattentive (we were never offered sweet). We would not have chosen this establishment had we not been reassured that my wifes gluten problem could be accommodated. This was supposed to be a lovely romantic break - and it was far from that. The bedroom was small though the view of the church delightful. Very very disappointed.
The whole experience was good. I was unwell whilst staying there but the staff were attentive and extremely helpful. Food and accommodation was excellent.
Bedroom was lovely very clean bathroom very cosy as it was very cold out.
2nd stay at the three crowns and as the first time found every thing 1st class
Atmosphere was warm & cheerful Staff were pleasant and helpful Old world charm
Extremely helpful and friendly staff, great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
The only complaint was the water pressure in the shower. That's it!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was first rate. A good location in Chagford and within easy reach of Dartmoor.
Great bed. Had an excellent meal at the Resturant. Friendly staff
The staff were excellent. The fireplace and decor lovely. The chef deserves special mention too as the meals served were of an excellent quality and presentation. Breakfast was of a very high standard.
As our suite was in the oldest part of the hotel ( room 15) the floor sloped in the bedroom which was disconcerting.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Food was amazing, for both dinner and breakfast. Really comfortable and cosy place to stay in a lovely village.
We stayed in the suite which was lovely with a massive comfy bed. We were having dinner at Gidleigh Park which is nearby so it was a cheaper option to stay here and it was nicer to stay in the the village.
Great location, little village with nice food and cosy fire place. Strongly recommend!
