Grasmere House is just a short walk from Salisbury and offers superb cathedral views. The fine Victorian house is situated on the banks of the rivers Avon and Nadder, and surrounded by mature gardens.

Nestled on the edge of the New Forest National Park, the Avon Causeway Hotel is just 1 mile from Bournemouth Airport. With a bar and a restaurant, it is 10 minutes’ drive from Christchurch.

Score from 50 reviews Wonderful
The peace and quiet, the sunset and Walks around the area, the views from up on the hill behind. The lion doll on the bed made me smile, the attention to detail in the bedroom, felt like a private bedroom rather than a hotle room. A memorable meal of trout, most palatable.
The stairs up to the room were a bit on the steep side, someone less active would have found them challenging. Being a solo traveller I seemed to be put into corner tables, the restaurant wasn't busy it would have been nice to have had a more expansive view while eating.
Wonderful chalet with large comfortable bed, large bathroom. Set right on the edge of the New Forest National Park with easy access to everything. Food and service were also truly fabulous. Will go back for another stay soon.
Nothing too much trouble friendly owners
Location. Excellent restaurant. Comfortable room
Nothing I didn't like
All four of us chose a different main course for dinner & each one was absolutely superb and cooked to perfection
The food is fantastic, the beds comfortable, the staff friendly. Highly recommended!
We were attending a local concert and the hotel was ideally located close to the New Forest and the village of Fordimgbridge. The outstanding feature is the restaurant. The food was exceptional. The Chef/owner Mark turns out michelin star quality with a handful of staff. The welcome, care and attention throughout our stay was superb. The restaurant stayed open for a late sitting to allow us to eat after the concert and this was much appreciated. The superior double room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The decor could do with some updating but this is a minor point.
Location was great lovely hotel with friendly staff.
Very noisey in other rooms above especially with slamming fire doors.
our 3 course meal in the evening was outstanding
cooked breakfast very disappointing mattress on bed - very lumpy and too soft , i think needs replacing
Warm, friendly welcome and food absolutely superb
Clean room. Nice bathroom. Being able to leave doors open. Quite location
No meals on Monday. No problem. Would not have gone to town if could have eaten there. Understand the need for a day off though.
Staff chatty and helpful. Bed comfortable. Room had lovely Juliet balcony.
Room a bit dated. No hair dryer provided. Had to pay extra for an English breakfast as only continental breakfast provided and I am a celiac. Shower and taps had a lot of limescale on them. Had to pay extra £20 for two well behaved dogs who were only in the room to sleep with me.
Food expensive but beautiful and well presented
The rooms are pleasant in a quiet location. The food was excellent. There is a nice garden to have drinks in the evening.
Almost everything! Welcome was warm, food was excellent, room was very comfortable.
When booking you should remember this is a restaurant with rooms, therefore menu is restaurant prices, that said food was really excellent. I personally would like to see them introduce a room & dinner deal.
The breakfast and the friendliness of the person who served it
The insect (maybe a woodlouse but possible a cockroach) crawling across the floor as I was packing to leave
Everything including the brilliant dinner we had.
A very friendly and knowledgable hostess. Lovely bedrooms and general decor. Food was high quality, though unfortunately we didn't make it to dessert.
Stay was too short!
Spacious room, big comfy bed, french doors overlooking beautiful gardens. Fabulous restaurant, fresh, tasty & best meals we had during 5 weeks in UK. Owners very easy going and friendly. Loved the location. Highly recommend for a relaxing break.
Made to feel very welcome by staff ,despite bar not being open a lovely Pimms was made and brought to my room !!
There was nothing to dislike.
Spacious superb accommodation with first class restaurant. Jayne and Mike are excellent hosts with friendly staff to meet all your needs
The staff were very friendly and it really is a magnificent setting
It would have been nice to have been told in advance that the bar/ restraunt would be closed. Also the room, although clean, was a little dated.
Location is excellent,
Arrived at 8pm on a Sunday to find restaurant closed; this is NOT detailed on their booking.com entry VERY tired bedding, tired rough towels, shower panel VERY lime-scaled - Viakil ?! £9 for a glass of Merlot - really!! This is not a £125 room - I would at best have paid £75/80. I regularly stay in hotels/inns across the south and this just does not come up to scratch. Shame as it's a superb location
