If you like straight walls & buildings with no character then this isn't for you. If you like quaint pubs, real ales, a comfy bed, superb shower, friendly staff & a hearty breakfast then it definitely is. Worth every penny.
The hotel has a lovely, individual feel to it, and has a relaxed, homely atmosphere.
The room was a bit small, but this wasn't really a problem for us as we didn't spend that much time in it apart from sleeping.
Loved everything! Debbie our hostess was wonderful. We had full English breakfast each morning and on the Sunday we had the Sunday lunch which made our day. The Inn had a live band on the Saturday which finished at 11 as stated and was very good. Our room was comfortable and apparently haunted though we didn't see anything, shame. Would definitely recommend.
Not a thing.
The decor, the roll top bath, the breakfast
Very querky, it felt like going back in time. Evening meal at the pub was superb, would definitely recommend.
Amazing full breakfast Friendly helpful owner/staff !0 min walk from the train station Right next to Chepstow Castle Right near the town centre and restaurants/bars Gorgeous old pub room-wooden beams and floors and really comfy bed
It was a bit noisey from the live band downstairs, on the Saturday night, but the owner apologised and warned us. Only till 1130pm
Lovely, stylish room. Very friendly staff.
Noisy extractor fan.
old atmospheric pub friendly staff well used by locals who liked a chat live entertainment on the Saturday night
nothing to comment on
beautiful, old building decorated to a high standard in keeping with the age of the building yet with all mod cons. Gorgeous breakfast, lively bar in the evening
Location is very good and not far from the shops. Rooms were very nicely presented.
Room was small and the lighting was too dull. It was hard to find things in my bag but I believe the lights were dull to create an atmosphere.
We walked all around. Visited several pubs and ended our evening sat up in bed listening to the live entertainment which was. A skiffle band. Breakfast was excellent.
Bed creaked but was an old bed but no problem
The Room,Breakfast and the Lovely sociable Landlady. Also friendly bar with a good atmosphere.
We had the self contained room next to the pub and it was great. Nothing was too much trouble for Debbie and the other staff. Excellent breakfast and the evening meal we had in the bar was also good. It was great having our own front door key to our accommodation and we felt we could com and go as we pleased.
Nothing. All good.
noise, no food on saturday, radiator fell off wall and impossible to watch tele in bed oh real ale dodgy
Friendliness, lovely simple restoration of 400 year old Inn, fresh milk provided for tea / coffee
[no wi-fi in room]
The staff were very friendly as were the local people. The room was excellent, old in character with modern comfort and Chepstow castle right outside, beautiful surroundings. Would highly recommend but book in advance as they are very busy with good reason.
Friendly staff, near the ,Castle, town centre and train station. The attempt to preserve some of the internal features. Breakfast had a good choice.
There were two things ,one our room did not have curtains, that blocked out the light and the plumbing could do with an upgrade. The amount of hot water for the shower and the temperature was variable at the morning rush to breakfast.
A great place to stay, delicious breakfast (the best of the weekend and I had a few!!). Debbie was realy friendly and I hope her future plans work out as it will make the Tuns even better.
Rooms, character and food
The lady in charge was very pleasant and did her best but she seemed to be doing everything on her own.
Furniture very old and chairs broken. No proper curtains, we had to use their towells which were past their usable date. No en suite but a bath room separated off from the corridor by a curtain. Breakfast as poor as any we have encountered in a guest house.
Lovely situation for the castle and river and friendly owner
Quirky bedrooms. Very old. Excellent breakfast. Great location.
Great decoration and carefully restored rooms Good atmosphere in the pub and seating area Good breakfast
Power cuts were a nuisance but didn't spoil our stay.
Location right at the bottom of Chepstow Castle. Great starting point for walks in the Wye Valley. Super food and good selection of ales. Deborah the owner is super friendly
Wifi signal a bit spotty, could do with a booster, but that's a minor quibble
Lots of good things. Beautifully restored and lovely to be by the castle at the beginning and end of the day. Food and drink a bit rough and ready. We stayed on a Sunday and it was quiet.
