Location is very good and not far from the shops. Rooms were very nicely presented.
Room was small and the lighting was too dull. It was hard to find things in my bag but I believe the lights were dull to create an atmosphere.
We walked all around. Visited several pubs and ended our evening sat up in bed listening to the live entertainment which was. A skiffle band. Breakfast was excellent.
Bed creaked but was an old bed but no problem
The Room,Breakfast and the Lovely sociable Landlady. Also friendly bar with a good atmosphere.
We had the self contained room next to the pub and it was great. Nothing was too much trouble for Debbie and the other staff. Excellent breakfast and the evening meal we had in the bar was also good. It was great having our own front door key to our accommodation and we felt we could com and go as we pleased.
Nothing. All good.
noise, no food on saturday, radiator fell off wall and impossible to watch tele in bed oh real ale dodgy
Friendliness, lovely simple restoration of 400 year old Inn, fresh milk provided for tea / coffee
[no wi-fi in room]
The staff were very friendly as were the local people. The room was excellent, old in character with modern comfort and Chepstow castle right outside, beautiful surroundings. Would highly recommend but book in advance as they are very busy with good reason.
Friendly staff, near the ,Castle, town centre and train station. The attempt to preserve some of the internal features. Breakfast had a good choice.
There were two things ,one our room did not have curtains, that blocked out the light and the plumbing could do with an upgrade. The amount of hot water for the shower and the temperature was variable at the morning rush to breakfast.
A great place to stay, delicious breakfast (the best of the weekend and I had a few!!). Debbie was realy friendly and I hope her future plans work out as it will make the Tuns even better.
Rooms, character and food
The lady in charge was very pleasant and did her best but she seemed to be doing everything on her own.
Furniture very old and chairs broken. No proper curtains, we had to use their towells which were past their usable date. No en suite but a bath room separated off from the corridor by a curtain. Breakfast as poor as any we have encountered in a guest house.
Lovely situation for the castle and river and friendly owner
Quirky bedrooms. Very old. Excellent breakfast. Great location.
Great decoration and carefully restored rooms Good atmosphere in the pub and seating area Good breakfast
Power cuts were a nuisance but didn't spoil our stay.
Location right at the bottom of Chepstow Castle. Great starting point for walks in the Wye Valley. Super food and good selection of ales. Deborah the owner is super friendly
Wifi signal a bit spotty, could do with a booster, but that's a minor quibble
Lots of good things. Beautifully restored and lovely to be by the castle at the beginning and end of the day. Food and drink a bit rough and ready. We stayed on a Sunday and it was quiet.
Location, staff, style, bedroom, bar, breakfast
Only problem was noisy fan/refrigeration unit at night
Loved the decor both in the bar area and room. Claw foot bath an extra special touch. Breakfast good with lovely service.
The room was lovely, breakfast was really good I'd recommend it
We arrived early and they wouldn't leave us leave our cases there
The three tuns is full of character in an excellent location, and provides a great base to explore the surrounding areas of the Wye Valley and Black mountains
The rock band played till 11.15pm on the night of our stay which for some is too late but we didn't really mind, after all it is a busy pub which is host to many bands
The place was dirty throughout. Door handles in particular look like they are all carrying some form of disease, and outside the rear entrance was a dirty and untidy mess. Olde world wooden floorboards were full of character, but also full of dust and dirt, and the white walls anything but white. The tired and broken advertisement board at the rear sums up the quality, but I strongly suspect this is associated with the fact it is currently up for sale.
Liked the history and location. Very comfy beds and clean cooked breakfast. Friendly Lesley, but other young staff certainly need more training, especially if left to manage.
Slap-dash approach to day to day running. Seems no-one in overall control. Local dog seems to use couches as day-beds, so reluctant to settle there although they were the only comfortable seats in the bar/dining area. See-through door to en suite bathroom!
Being next to the river and chepstow castle
Shower head was low, but i am 6'5"
Clean and comfortable with very helpful and patient staff, and a fantastic breakfast to get us on our way.
One loud and very disagreeable local customer in the bar. The batman was extremely patient with her. We weren't having a drink that night, but would have left promptly if we were.
