Great place to stay if flying out of Gatwick.
Friendly bar and staff. Excellent breakfast
Good location, quiet, spacious room. Extra touches such as the fresh milk, fruit and bottled water. Breakfast was particularly good- much better than in some more expensive hotels.
Shower room was very small but clean and well equipped.
Excellent well prepared food for dinner and breakfast - creative and skilful. There is a nice friendly atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming.
Room charges were perhaps a bit high for the level of comfort.
The food was excellent and the staff friendly.
The bathroom of our en suite was so small that you could barely turn round in it. It was advertised by Bookings.com as a large bathroom. The room was noisy due to a strange sound possibly related to water moving which disturbed us at night.
Comfortable room Nicely decorated Personal touches Great breakfast
The extremely noisy heating pipes all through the night. We honestly thought someone was continuously boiling a very noisy kettle. Unfortunately we got very little sleep. I couldn't ever go back because of this.
Made to feel very welcome and relaxed, helpful information about trains into Bath and where to find a local fireworks display. Pretty room, plenty of tea/coffee and fresh milk in the fridge. Good location for visit into Bath and Bradford on Avon, lovely area to stay. Very good hearty breakfast in comfortable room.
Sloping ceilings in the cosy standard bedroom made walking upright around the bed impossible - not suitable for tall people! Very popular, busy restaurant in the evening made for a long wait for dinner - maybe because it was Bonfire Night. Couldn't get our WiFi to work.
Excellent staff and service with a smile. Food superb especially the fillet steak bed very comfy.
Very comfortable room the food was excellent the staff were good
Beware on a Friday and Saturday night the bar is open till 1:00 in the morning and the noise level is terrible in the rooms
Easy access to places of interest. Friendly staff, comfortable room and excellent food for the evening meal.
Good cooked breakfast - would have liked more choice of fruit juices and maybe dried fruit and yoghourt as an alternative.
Period character, excellent service, and superb food.
Location and friendly staff
Nothing all was good
Location and very interesting property
personal service, good food, quirky room, nice touches of bottled water and fridge
Friendly staff Good location
Very noisy floor boards Hot room Worth the cost?
Attention to detail. Really good food. Breakfast menu to suit all tastes. Evening menu full of variety.
Lots of little extras, such as fresh milk in the room for tea, biscuiits, fruit. Very good quality breakfast.
Friendly helpful staff. Cosy atmosphere. Fridge with fresh milk in room. Excellent dinner. Full Breakfast with newspaper.
Small (standard) double bed. Small shower/toilet. Both are clearly described on the web site and it is appreciated that, unfortunately, there is very little that can be done to alter them.
Very friendly & helpful owners. The room was tastefully decorated & the cleanliness of the whole place was faultless. The bed was very comfy with really crisp, white sheets. Loved all the little touches in the room , like the fresh fruit in a fruit bowl; homemade shortbread biscuits; assorted drinks including fruit teas & hot chocolate plus fresh milk in the fridge; still & sparkling water provided in glass bottles rather than cheap plastic & a box of tissues in the room - all of this contributes to making this Inn a cut above the norm & worth a visit.
Nothing at all really. The room was quite small but then it is advertised as a small double. It has a full sized double bed which is great, it’s just that there isn't much available free space in the room which was fine for our overnight stay but could feel cramped for a much longer break.
The building was full of character and nice touches, such as naming the rooms, rather than numbering. The staff were friendly and the restaurant offered excellent food.
Friendly Staff,Excellent Food, Good Location for exploring Wiltshire and for visiting National Trust properties
The bedroom we had was next to a very noisy road and junction,The room in your particulars stated it looked over the village green,in fact it overlooked a patch of grass at the road junction,
Very dark in the upstairs corridor to access bedrooms almost to the point of being dangerous. Bad stain on carpet floor.
Breakfast is delicious. Comfortable room and friendly efficient staff.
Corridors to room were narrow and poorly lit.
