Quiet. Convenient. Well appointed room. Good view. Well thought out layout in the rooms.
Problems with the internet (national) website that I booked on. It seemed to be offering things that I later discovered were not available. (e.g. sea view, breakfast). Therefore, had to ask for an upgrade to have a sea view and ask what the situation was with regard to breakfast. Loved the room (no 6) but we did have two tiny moans 1. the wardrobe was rather loose and wonky. 2. The coat stand was broken at the top and wanted to fall over.
The informality and good quality rooms. The hotel is rather a collection of suites all with their own lounge and kitchen areas. Entry is via codes so you can come and go as you please.
Breakfast (and any other meals you don't wish to make yourself) have to be taken in another nearby hotel (Coast - only a couple of doors away) so if you require this service "in-house" this hotel format won't work for you.
Great apartment.lovely and clean.v central location, handy for shops, sea terminal and prom.generous welcome pack and mini-bar reasonably priced especially for soft drinks. Plenty of towels & toilet rolls!!
Stairs are a killer tho lift is being installed and we had a dvd player in the room but no scart leads to attach it to the tv.would have tried to resolve this but reception not manned for pretty much our whole stay and I just didnt get the chance to phone the number we were given.
The Town House is well situated in the town. The suite was large and well furnished. Ideal place to stay for more than one night.
The size of the apartment was bigger than expected, and we were upgraded. Before arriving, we asked if we could have cream (for our coffee), and they went to M&S and bought us some! They also gave us a Christmas present, placed at the Christmas tree in our lounge (which was very well decorated). Very warm welcome on arrival. Good location. Free wifi and phone calls. Iron and ironing board. Filter coffee machine.
These are very minor, so don't let it put you off... The room was a little tired, but in my experience, this is the norm in the Isle of Man so I wasn't too disappointed (you get spoilt living in England). Like most hotels, only 2 towels in the room, meaning you have to call for extra towels when you get out of the shower, after forgetting there were only 2. I really hate damp towels. If only more hotels would have just 1 extra towel. Women often need 2 towels, one of which is for their hair. Men only need 1 towel, so if there's a couple staying, there should be 3 towels. Also, a piece fell off the bed (I forgot to report this). I hope this helps.
Appartment was clean, tidy & well decorated. Kitchen area had necessary appliances. Lots of natural light, good Location. Central to shopping Area, Fabulous value for money! I will be back !!!
location was brilliant peaceful. beautiful view outside the accommodation , close to ferry services and shopping area. private accommodation well kept and presented will definatley return in the future
bed too close to wall to get out of on one side
Location Large rooms
Everything was just perfect, can't wait to go back. Definitely recommend it
Quality of facilities very high. Friendly staff v
1 minute walk from the main shopping area, 1 minute walk to the promenade, flower beds, everything in easy reach. Fabulous sea view and spacious apart-suite with all needs anticipated and catered for. Lovely warm, friendly welcome and then left alone for the duration of our stay - perfect!
Lack of dedicated parking space
The location - best restaurants were all within walking distance. Likewise shops. The suite was very well equipped. The owner went that extra mile to ensure the welcome pack suited your tastes. And was available at all times if required. A great base for independently minded visitors.
Lack of dedicated parking though in truth that didn't prove a problem. Local parking always available after 5.30pm or so and the free parking disc scheme gave you till 10.00am before you had to move
The owner, Jon, has taken great care to make sure all of your needs are catered for - from pre-arrival food deliveries to getting you from the airport to the hotel. The room was very good (clean, tidy, spacious) and the location is excellent. A really great experience and would definitely stay there again.
On the top floor, the WiFi is slightly hit and miss, the views at the back of the hotel are a little un-inspiring (but this will be the same right across the front) so it would be worth to pay for a sea view if that's important to you.
It was a very nice apartment with every thing we needed.
Being on the top floor.
Very friendly welcome, everything explained on arrival i.e., Wi-Fi, facilities etc, no hidden extra charges, beautiful décor, great location, would stay again.
The only minor inconvenience is there is no car park for the hotel. You have to park on the street and follow the maximum stay rules, but generally it was no real hardship.
Nice decor and quality furniture and fixtures made for a pleasant stay. Great location, friendly and helpful staff.
Thought we were getting a sea view as shown upon booking. we were instead facing the rear and a wall in a side alley, so we were a bit disappointed by that.
central position; beautifully furnished; attentive staff;
shower cantankerous; layout of lounge; steps up to bedroom without handgrips/handrail; no handrail by loo or in walk-in shower
Perfect self catering hotel combination. luxury and facilities of a 4 star hotel with self catering. good location for Douglas shopping, ferry port etc.
Nothing really....our suite was situated at the top of the building, so lots of steps, which were unavoidable really. Noisy seagulls and local roadworks noisy. Lack of view from room. I really am picking faults here though, the suite was lovely!
Central location Near Port Great advice from owner Freedom to come and go Met when arrived very late
Shower not powerful enough Needed more than one flush on WC Lift needed - but on way
Location. size of bed and room.
Back room was very dark we could not tell what the weather was like outside.
A beautifully decorated apartment overlooking the sea and lovely gardens. It was so nice to be welcomed with all the provisions that we immediately needed and hosts so willing to help. We can't find any fault and would definitely recommend The Town House.
The staff, location, rooms, facilities were all above par. What a great business.
Walking up the stairs but can't be helped.
Lovely rooms at the top of house overlooking the bay, could not have asked for more. The airport bus stops right outside which also goes onto Port Erin. Staff very helpful just have to get used to the fact that they are not always on-site but are at the end of a phone. Plans to expand into adjacent property (will see lift appear). Definitely made the trip. Good independent butchers nearby and M&S for other purchases.
No lift but that did not bother us, one is scheduled to be fitted. The smoke alarm in the kitchen area was too sensitive, we set it off twice, gather it is to be replaced. Probably just need to firm up arrival process for arrivals outside standard hours.
Nice clean and modern rooms, kitchen and the bread, milk and cheap mini bar prices excellent
Location. Wi-Fi. Kitchen. Room was nice.
Manager entering room for no apparent reason without knocking while my fiance was half dressed then running away and hiding without apologizing or explaining himself until much later? Explanation made no sense.Very very odd and quite disturbing. Building work starting at 7:50am every morning. So called "welcome basket" containing the basic things you'd expect with a Hotel room but only stocked once. Pin code room access very insecure. Coffee machine very dated and didn't work. Generally very noisy.
