The Town House  

Convenient location right on the promenade, close to shops. Pleasant and helpful staff. Plenty of information available and everything was well- organised. The main room was a good size and well furnished. We used the sofa bed for our son and didn't feel too cramped. Kitchenette was spotless and well equipped, shower room fresh and elegant. Would happily stop there again.

Our suite was at the side of the hotel and the main room was a little dark as a result, but this isn't really an issue if you are only there in the evening.

Great central location with space & privacy. Rather like a small apartment with lovely furniture & fittings. Good base for exploring the island.

No facilities such as Bar & Restaurant but we knew that. Arrangements in place with nearby "Coast" part of the Claremont. Lack of any view at all, we knew we did not have a sea view but a brick wall!!

The owner (Jon) and the facility were great -Five Stars! Everything was ready and Jon had added some small extras that made the welcome more personable. The location was sweet! Right on the Douglas coast boardwalk and only a ten minute walk from Tanroagan's Seafood Restaurant. I would definitely recommend it and will plan to stay there should we head back to the Isle of Man. Thanks Jon!

Nice room and bathroom. Nice welcome late at night. Apartment style only, you have to go to M&S to buy food. Kitchen well equipment to cook breakfast etc. handy for the shopping street.

Poor TV channels, especially for kids. Internet problems during our stay. Our back room was a little dark. Sure the sea view rooms are better

There didn't seem to be any room cleaning at the weekend.

The attention to detail, even in the smallest elements of the stay experience, was particularly impressive. The customer service provided was outstanding. My family was totally impressed by the hotel and the staff. We would most definitely recommend it to others. The WiFi connection was also excellent - much better than the poor speeds and signals you get from some of the mainstream hotel brands.

Shirley's (and the staff's attitude) is wonderful . nothing is too much trouble. A very positive can do attitude delivered with a smile. The rooms are comforatble and well appointed (and I stayed in 4 different rooms during my stay ).

Good central location with good access to the shops. Easy to transfer from the Ferry to The Town House and then very easy to access public transport to all parts of the Isle of Man. The property was very well maintained and high quality furnishings made the stay very luxurious. Good to be able to be independent and free from keys. Using codes to enter three separate doors made the property seem very secure. Despite arriving late evening there was a warm welcome from Pam helping us to feel settled straight away and showing us the milk and bread that we had ordered to be in our kitchen on our arrival.

Luxury, service and location

Very well appointed! The director and manager were very helpful and accommodating. Everything you need is there for you. Best place I've stayed in most of my travels. It's just too bad they're only available in Douglas. The decor and sheets, down to the prices of the minibar are very detailed and not gouging on the customer. The view from the suite and the accessibility to shopping is excellent! Would definitely choose this as the only place to stay in if we ever come back to Douglas.

Overall decor and standard of the hotel was lovely. Room layout worked well. Bathroom great size. Kitchen facility really good. The people at the hotel were also very helpful and lovely. We would come back.

The one thing which let it down for us was that we were a party of 3 and needed to use the couch bed which was really awful. Had to pull mattress onto floor and sleep there. Other beds were really good so this felt like a let down and not in sync with standards of rest of the facility.

Great location, lots of restaurants and shops around with easy acces to public transport and Ferry Terminal, very comfortable and cosy. Hotel staff were available if needed but respected our privacy. Building security was good. Our family of 4 could sleep in the one suite although the sofa bed was on the smaller side for older children but was sufficient for a couple of nights. It was a wonderful place to stay.

We had a very comfortable weekend at The Town House which enabled us to have the freedom to choose to eat at the local restaurants or rustle up something in the kitchen.

The reception was not very welcoming.

Excellent choice for a family with children. All facilities for simple but comfortable cooking, separate area with parental bed, cosy eating area. We had a wonderful time there. Not a luxury, but a good value for money.

We stayed on the 3d floor. So not easy to go upstairs with small children.

Parkingmöglichkeiten schwierig, kein Lift

Excellent location on Douglas sea front. Easy access to restaurants - there are some very good ones. Easy access to Victorian railway and trams to travel around the island. Brilliant for a few days holiday.
