Room we had was so small if we wanted to pass one another one had to sit on bed No shower curtain . dirty around grouting. Shower only dribbled with rest of the water pouring on your feet from taps. Very dated bathroom. Breakfast good though !
Lovely place situated in centre of town. Friendly staff and great pubs for relaxed night out.
the friendliness of the staff and the facilities provided.
holes in wall and mould around bath.
Great location, tidy and clean rooms, excellent value for money!
Right in the center of the village.
Still not finished the updating of all rooms.
Excellent restaurant. Lift to first floor rooms. Good parking. Helpful and friendly staff. There's little competition this east side of Nottingham so this hotel fills the gap - but as a consequence can charge a little more than it's worth.
Room was small for the price with a small high up window. Wall paper had run out on one wall. Limited breakfast.
The night staff, wait up until you return and also supplied a tel no should the be busy and not on the front desk.
Some traffic noise from the main street, but other than that, nothing else.
We really liked the staff of this hotel as they were all friendly and willing to help us with our requests. They booked us taxis and were very welcoming upon arrival. The breakfasts are delicious and the tea and coffee facilities in the room are also to a good standard.
The hotel itself is very different from appearances according to the website. We stayed in room 212, and these comments may not apply to the whole hotel. The room is a lot smaller than it looks on the website and not nearly as spacious as mentioned in other comments. The decoration is not as modern as it looks on the website, with mismatched furniture a random placing of the furniture because of the lack of space. There are random holes in the wall as well, almost like first attempts at picture hooks or light fixtures? Our curtain was half off its railing as well. There is no proper place to hang clothing, except for a DIY style railing. The major downfall for us was the bathroom. The shower is one that is over a bathtub. Not a problem usually, but the fitting was very difficult to work and the shower only had one heat setting unless you attempted to change the temperature, then the bath began to run. We attempted to get it sorted but were told not to touch the temperature taps? All to complicated for a hotel shower. It was also very old, dated and dark. Overall, the actual room was very different to what is portrayed on the website.
Staff was very helpful in organising taxis, letting us check-in early. Friendly atmosphere
The staff were very friendly and helpful,
the rooms weren't as described and shown in the pictures and i think they need some modernizing and abit of tlc, the bathroom could be made a little nicer, and the variety of breakfast could be better
This was a refreshing and unique experience with friendly staff and excellent facilities.
Booked for one night, lovely room, compliments bottle water, chocolate chip cookies, white flat screen TV, had full English breakfast which was good, large car park, good location restaurants and pubs. Staff were very good and helpful. Would stay again and would recommend this hotel.
Took a bit of working out the shower was quite hard to turn off so it didn't continuously drip, otherwise nothing else.
everything was what i expect from a hotel, we have stayed here before, and will continue to do so, when i am the area
If i did not like anything i would not stay there
Breakfast was cooked fresh
Staff and breakfast were excellent.
Friendly approach. Welcoming and considerate.
Good location and private parking was a bonus. Room was bright, quiet and comfortable with nice furniture and bedding and plenty of toiletries in the bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities were excellent and breakfast was really nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Didn't have bath towels in the bathroom only hand towels but this might have been an oversight.
Great food, ideal location, clean comfortable room, ample parking space and friendly owners.
It was all good, had a great 4 days.
The rooms were quiet and clean. The food was very good in fact one of the best chinese meals we ever eaten
Rooms are looking a bit tired and need a bit of a makeover
Friendly service. Restaurant and bar downstairs was good. Perfect location to rest up for events at Nottingham Holme Pierpoint watersports centre.
Shower didn't work properly and bathroom was very dated.
Friendly & welcoming. .lovely clean modern room .. complimentary bottle of water in room nice touch! Plenty of toiletries including shampoo & conditioner. Great breakfast. .fresh with quality ingredients. Free wifi a great extra
Bathroom needs upgrade, struggled to get some channels on tv.
Comfy bed, good tv and tea/coffee in room
The whole place smells like a chinese takeaway and the bathroom wasnt good at all. Girl at the front desk on check in didnt tell me anything about facilities, breakfast etc but continued to complain when I said I wouldnt be back till midnight after a wedding 'oh right well see you whenever then'
We stay a couple of times a year for a national event at national water centre. We always get a friendly welcome and are recognised each time we stay.
