Friendly and helpful.

Steamed up secondary double glazing. Damp smell.No bedside tables or bedside lights. Needs full modernisation. Poor vegetarian breakfast. Dirty and messy corridors. Blanket on old sofa in bedroom. Inadequate wardrobe facilities over kettle! Grim!

We have never stayed in such a friendly place! The staff go above and beyond good service, with personal touches which are thoughtful and genuine - completely spoiling children! The food was also great - home- made, tasty and good value for money. The bedroom and ensuite were spacious, comfortable and clean, and parking was provided.

The only very slight issue we had was with music noise from the bar, but that was because one of our party was a child who had an early bedtime. We were aware this may happen when we booked however, and the owners did try to accommodate our request for a quiet room. It was only a minor issue though, and certainly didn't spoil our stay in any way.

Made us very welcome. Made us a meal after normal catering closing time by prior arrangement. Catered for a gluten-free diet. Really nice country inn with loads of space. Fabulous real ale, but beware it can bite back!

The only really down side was my bed, which seemed to lack any cushioning over the springs.

The staff were very friendly, good clean accomodation at at reasonable rate. Breakfast was nice. Overall a pleasant stay close to Alnwick Castle.

The staff were incredibly friendly and the atmosphere they made for us was very welcoming. The rooms are upstairs above the pub itself the food and drinks are reasonably priced. The location is about ten to fifteen minutes to Alnwick which is handy as most other B&Bs were fully booked, we did everything last minute. I wouldn't stay here again only because next time i would save a little bit of money and pick somewhere nicer more central to Alnwick. The Trap inn is exactly what you pay for it is however clean and nice and warm. We did initially try to check in for a twin but because they were still cleaning it they offered us the triple. I couldn't have asked for better service.

If we hadn't have been a young couple and up until all hours anyway the pub downstairs may have caused a problem. They were very noisy but fortunately for us we didn't mind. You can hear the noise late at night so if your a light sleeper or have young children this could be an issue. The bathroom is spacious but basic there is hot water in the shower. The Trap Inn does seem family friendly and provides high chairs etc. but I would be cautious as again there is a pub right downstairs. They also include breakfast in the price and when your checking in they collect your preferences it was lovely.

Good food, good bar, very friendly.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, showing signs of having been recently refurbished. The quality of the welcome throughout our stay added to the overall enjoyment of our holiday. They were obliging in wanting to find out what we needed e.g. our choices for breakfast were bought in especially.

Arrived quite late and received a very warm welcome from friendly staff. Convenient for local attractions.

The room was generally grubby and run down. Needs updating drastically. Found a half eaten takeaway on wardrobe shelf when we got up next morning, nice! No shower. Whether you pay 60 or 160 quid for b&b, rooms need to meet a basic standard, but sadly this one didn't.

My single room had no window in it I think it was a large cupboard that had been converted

The staff at the Trap Inn must be some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. The barman even let us taste the House wine before opening it! Wise move it was awful and went for the Hardy's instead. The food was bar meals, but it was good and the breakfast was a huge cooked meal. (A little greasy)

The decor of the room was dreadful. It had not been decorated for about 30 years and everything was Pink, including the ceiling. But the sheets and towels were all clean and fresh. It was OK for one night.

Could not understand the procedure for booking breakfast on arrival and then to be delayed on arrival for breakfast suggest that needs to be reviewed

Stayed at the Trapp Inn 21/06/12 - 23/06/12 for two nights, exploring Northumberland. An extended break after attending an interview (I got the job by the way). The hospitality at the Trapp Inn is terrific, the owners are extremely friendly, obliging, flexible in terms of check out, breakfast times and generally happy to assist with anything. Also allowed us to take a small dog. The breakfast is great and evening meals in the pub are also recommended. Try out some of Sandra's specials such as the chicken fajitas, they're great. The rooms are spacious, with ensuite and pleasantly furnished. In terms of value for money and hospitality the Trapp Inn will take some beating.

Location is a bit remote but great for accessing places of interest if you have transport and also close to Amble. Parts of the accomodation are in need of refurbishment but certainly did not impact on the stay.

Staff was friendly. Pub so very noisy in bar area which is normal. My room was at the back so I didn't hear anything once I went to bed.

I would suggest a mirror in the room. Only mirror is in bathroom and no hairdryer allowed there.

Very friendly family run pub & b & B. gOOD facilities and well worth a visit, big breakfast sets you up nicely for the day ahead.

It was really friendly. We were made to feel relaxed and nothing was too much trouble! The home cooked food was delicious and the rooms were homely and clean. We were near some fantastic stretches of the Northumbrian coast. I had a lovely break and wouldnt hesitate to visit again. We had a few drinks in the bar on the evening and the local people were friendly and the Ale was wonderful! Large rooms suitable for families. Great parking ! Thanks again to all at The Trap it was just the time out we needed!

Very helpful friendly staff. The Trap Inn is a local pub with few frills. The menu is very basic. The rooms are above the pub and are rather noisy before 11.30, after that it's fine.
