Excellent Breakfast & Dinner Very friendly staff Spacious room
No wi-fi reception in bedroom Had to leave the wardrobe doors open to stop them rattling while walking in the room
The staff where very friendly and very helpful. Our room was spacious for four and the food was lovely. Emma was so helpful and the children loved her.
Only downside was parking was opposite the trout which was a little tricky but not a huge deal.
Attention to detail of request for assistance on arrival. Friendliness, accommodating and cleaniness of the facility
It was absolutely gorgeous, the hosts were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The room was large, comfortable and very modern but with an old world charm. The food was superb. Would definitely recommend it!
Spacious room for four if us with lovely views of the river. Emma (the owner) couldn't do enough for us & was friendly & welcoming. Great for kids as well as adults & the food was excellent.
It is next to quite a busy road so you might be disturbed. Would still go again though as the positives far outweigh the road.
Food great, extremely welcoming and friendly hosts, lovely rooms with a great view.
Nothing not to like.
The reception from the staff upon arrival made us feel instantly welcome, and they were very accommodating as they had even provided an extra bed to allow four of us to sleep in the one room although there were only three of us who finally came. The service throughout our stay and the breakfast were superb. We were never rushed and always made to feel relaxed as we were on holiday which provided a real homely feel. There was a lovely view of the river from the room and the historic nature of the pub gave it a real traditional rustic feel. A good choice of hand pulled beers also for the more discerning beer drinkers out there.
Unfortunately the beds were a bit small particularly the double bed and the mattresses had certainly seen better days. Also the traffic from the road outside could be very noisy at times with the window open but not so bad with it closed.
Food excellent room comfortable. Staff great
Road very busy and noisy.
Facilities, space, the location
Bed wasn't too comfortable, wifi was poor.
Arrived late. Ale great. Bed comfy. Breakfast lovely. Scenery wonderful.
Road a tad noisy in the morning but we needed to get up anyway.
Very friendly staff. Breakfast excellent.
Very noisy road meant could not leave window open during very hot weather.
Excellent food and hospitality
very good place with a river, good local food, clean room, nice staff, should stay more time with host, who are very nice and provided home-made breakfast
Excellent all round value for money. Staff were very friendly. Food was very good with excellent breakfast
Very welcoming to us all- including the dog!
We enjoyed our stay in a most beautifully appointed room with adequate facilities for our needs. The staff were very friendly and accommodating nothing was too much trouble.
One or two of bedroom facilities needed attention
An absolutely brilliant place to start off our holiday in Devon!! Staff, food, drink, location and rooms were all superb 10 out of 10!!
large room very comfortable great food friendly staff
All the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable. The evening meal was delicious.
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Free sky tv. Lovely gardens.
Staff are excellent, food very good. Definitely would go back
Road noise upto 11pm Wifi signal strength poor in the room but ok in the bar area
Staff Great Food Excellent Room quirky
Unable to keep bedroom window open because of road noise, this made the room very warm.
Lovely, friendly staff who were very eager to assist however they could. In my case storing my road bike in their cellar. Appetite satisfying servings of good food.
Lack of Wi-Fi which was a minor inconvenience.
Liked the excellent breakfast and friendliness of the owners. Good beer and evening meal provided in the pub the night before. Nice view out to the river from both bedrooms. Conveniently located for going to Open Day at Exeter the next day.
Could not get in house Wi-Fi in one of the bedrooms and only in certain places in the other. Not a major problem though. Single beds in family room are better suited to smaller children, our 17 year boy (who is not big) was uncomfortable.
