Countryside pub and restaurant with rooms upstairs. A little out of the way but worth the distance. Very good food and helpful staff. If back in that area again I would go there again.

The owner and staff were very friendly and given that my arrival was quite late (I'd alerted them earlier in the day) took the trouble of preparing a delicious fresh sandwich for me as the restaurant had closed. The room was simple, basic even, but clean, warm and comfortable. There was nothing I didn't like about The Trout Inn but unfortunately its pleasant rural setting was rather too far from my work/business base: Winchester.

The owners and their parents were very hospitable and charming. My evening meal was excellent. I enjoyed my breakfast which arrived on time and as ordered. The bed was very comfortable. I would recommend this establishment to others. I will be staying there again if I need to be in Winchester on business.

The total approach by the staff to assist and make our short stay a pleasure - the pack lunch was very good - cheese and pickle sandwich was for the inner ploughman and the ham sandwich for the farmer - ( all sandwiches should be made this way - excellent !!! )

Traditional, family run, cosy country inn . Inviting log fires. Interesting choice of well cooked tasty food at very affordable prices. Friendly , helpful bar staff. Plenty of parking. Bits and pieces need updating .

Friendly owners and family atmosphere. Felt very "at home" and relaxed. Would definitely go back. Shower didn't work well, water was either scalding or cold, battled to find right setting. Other than that no complaints

The Trout inn is a great basic b&b a little tired in places but the hospitality is second to none. The overall impression of the Trout inn is a little jaded and belies the warm hospitality that is guaranteed by the hosts.

The food was excellent and the owners and their parents treated us as friends although we had never stayed in the area before. We were able to choose what time we would like breakfast, and exactly what we wanted to eat. The evening meals were excellent and the other customers were friendly and made us feel welcome. The Inn is a few minutes from Winchester, which has plenty of parking spaces as well as a very good park and ride. We were also able to visit the New Forest and Bucklars Hard. The Inn is well worth staying at and with the updating which is in progress should be even better in future.

The management team, staff, food were excellent. Their company at the bar was just what you would expect in an old english pub. The accomodation and standard of cleanliness was fine, and to our expectations for both the type of accomodation we booked, and the price we paid. Overall, for a country pub, I would recommend it to anyone, and we would definitelyreturn, if we were staying in the area again.

The location in relation to the church & village hall - was superb; that was the reason why we chose it as it was my niece's wedding there in Itchen Abbas that weekend. Breakfast was excellent; tea & coffee was always available whenever we needed it.
