We enjoyed the food, which was very good and out of the ordinary We very much had the impression of not being welcome here. Besides that, the place is absolutely not child friendly. Our children were chased in a very rude manner out of the garden by the owner, telling us that 'her' garden is not for children (!). Although the children did absolutely nothing wrong there. The owner did not welcome us at all, but revealed her presence only the day after arrival to chase the children out of 'her' garden. The window of our room was broken, and even had a hole in it. In the evening at 22.00 we were asked to leave the pub just after having ordered a beer. We got a few minutes to leave. The breakfast was served at 9.00, and the staff told us that if we would come earlier, we would have to wait and at 9.15 it would already be finished. This place would have been great if only the owners and staff would care about their guests and make them feel welcome.

Lovely situation, nice view out on the garden. It was good to have heating in the rooms as it was particularly cold for May. The shower did not work properly & probably hasn't for a while. It had to be lifted out of the raised up position in order to get water to come out, which meant holding it, while you showered!! We pointed this out & the person we spoke to affected surprse. we were told a plumber would be called out - he wasn't! There were 3 of us sharing the room, so that was poor. Having 3 separate baths was not an option.

Room was clean and comfortable. Nice beds. Tea and coffee making facilities. Open fire in the bar was lovely. Dinner was delicious and good value for money and they were very flexible going off menu for my daughter. The courtyard and gardens are nice. Bathroom really outdated. Shower didn't work properly. Not enough towels. They decided to close the pub at 10pm meaning we went to bed earlier than we wanted. As we met friends there this was a bit annoying.

Very friendly relaxing atmosphere, the accommodation is very nice. The restaurant food is excellent. Only one towel per person, no hand towel in the bathroom or bath mat. So stepping onto carpet out of shower.

We were the only people there yet we found the staff not that keen to assist and had very little knowledge of the area . The shower was terrible and the tap broke off in my hand .

the food was excellent, couldn't fault it at all. the room was very basic and the internet didn't work in the room which was very fustrating. If you're looking for a pub with atmosphere the the black pig in the same village is the place for you to stop at.

We found the accommodation comfortable, clean and adaquate, with plenty of parking spaces. The breakfast was well cooked by the landlord. We had stayed there on a previous occasion and will probably stay again in the future.

Steve the owner was very friendly made us very welcome, The Tuns has a very relaxed feel in a period setting. No hand towels Breakfast was served with scambled egg, not given the choice of fried or poach egg. the chef was not rushed as there was not many guests. Choice of bread not just white would be better. (was cold)

Attention of staff and food Lack of attention to detail - we had to request supplies (milks, spoons) for the room which should have been left by room staff, etc.

We only stayed overnight as we were going to a wedding reception. The food we had was very good. The open fire in the bar was very inviting. No hangers in the wardrobe or hand towels in the bathroom.

Good location, close to Dover Castle and The seaside. Food in the pub was fantastic, both breakfast and dinner. The only thing was our room smelt strongley of mould and i can only put that down to the carpet in the bathroom and no bath mat and there was no house keeping each day. (Clean towels etc) Otherwise all good.

We were there dropping our daughter off at University so just needed a bed for the night so from that point of view it was fine. The accomodation suited our purpose at a reasonable price and the breakfast was good. I would go back. There were 1 or 2 issues, see below, but nothing serious. The floor looked like it needed vaccuming, the shower didn't work, the tv reception was very poor and the internet access kept dropping out. They did say they could make another shower in a different room available but this would have meant going outside to access it. As we were 3 people I assume no other suitable room was available as none was offered. The shower would have been more of a problem if we were there for more than just 1 night, but maybe it could have been fixed if we were.

The location and the attractive features of the old building. The breakfast was great and the chap cooking and serving it was the only one who seemed to care that we were there. The attitude from the owner was appaling! - I asked for a coffee at 10.45 a.m. Saturday and was told they had a wedding party arriving soon and no I could'nt have a coffee!
