Spa, breakfast, staff, comfort, cleanliness.
Cost slightly inflated and valet parking was an extra twenty pounds.
1) Spa facilities were great as was breakfast 2) Excellent location 3) Staff were helpful and lovely- especially the very nice gentleman in the top hat greeting us at the front door. 4) Extra touches such from staff such as providing us with water for our journey home and offering us a walking tour of the city
1) Shower- very poor for what i'd expect from a hotel 2) Water dripping from the inside of the window in the morning
Excellent location and views.
Having to pay an additional £6.50 for a hot breakfast when already paid £195 for the room!
This was the perfect place, easy access to everything we wanted to do. Very comfortable and spacious with excellent facilities and staff.
The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. Excellent facilities and a very clean. A very good breakfast was included, served by friendly and helpful staff.
Would have liked two chairs in our room rather than one. A foldable stool would have been sufficient Otherwise could not fault any aspect of our stay at this hotel.
We loved this place, will return
Being ripped off for parking. Was told it would be £39.50 if i took my car to the nearest overnight car park myself but offered Valet Parking for £20. Very concerned the radio in my car was reprogrammed to some kiddy channel?
Everything was spot on.....will definetly return
If you are looking for a cosy, luxury hotel right in the heart of Cambridge then you can't get better.
Staff were efficent but not the friendliest but I think it could have been lost a little in translation.
Location wonderful as were the views form our bedroom window. The facilities looked great even thought we didn't find time to use the Spa or the restaurant but brekfast was good.
Staff were generally very nice but the champagne although bought to our room was not opened for us which we thought could have been offered and crisps and nuts still in packets -little dishes would have looked better
This was the best
Small room. Poor wifi
Room was comfortable and well equipped. Staff were helpful with a can do attitude. Overall, will go back as location is excellent.
Restaurant is in separate building, which is not ideal. Also, quite expensive, especially including the overnight parking fee.
The service of all team members from car parking to reception to cleaning teams. Absolutely superb
Doorman with bowler hat
No Parking despite being advertised as having parking - was not available after 10pm
design 1st floor lobby location cosy cool roof top bar with a great view
don't stay on the first floor, rooms have no windows (frosted windows that barely open)
Staff Room Location All excellent
Roof terrace closed early without notice on the night of our stay- we tried to go up and they had closed it all up although no problem with weather. Takes away one of main reasons for staying there.
Just spent one night to visit my daughter studying there, all the staff are very helpful and the breakfast is yummy.
A small entrance.
The staff were exceptionally helpful. The prime location next to the river /central to shops bars and restaurants
We feel that the room was not worth the £195 (discounted) paid despite it being an upgrade to the superior king room, the bed was large and comfortable but the rest of the room was fairly small and basic for the money. The balcony was nice but the view was of rooftops and a building site. We would also have expected a hot breakfast for the money, although the continental breakfast was good. We were very disappointed that the much talked about rooftop terrace bar closed for winter! There was no mention of this when booking or on the website. This was the main reason I picked this hotel over others for my husbands 50th birthday.
Location and good staff
Car valet service was very poor - as had to wait 45 min for car to be returned
Loved the view of the Cam from the bedroom - floor to ceiling window was stunning. Great touches like coffee and cafetière made hotel feel luxury. Sunday breakfast was very generous.
Comfortable room, cafetiere in the room, great bed, good tv, lovely roll top bath. Good meal at the River Bar where staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Public areas need a spuce up, would have liked to have been forewarned about the road closure. I stayed at a Premier Inn recently and they called ahead of my stay to discuss parking and how to access the hotel - this was greatly appreciated. This is an expensive hotel and I didn't feel that it quite delivered on it's 4 star rating.
Location was excellent, on the River Cam, within blocks of major shopping, restaurants and the University. The staff was first class, professional and exceptionally helpful. Superior breakfasts in their partner restaurant. This is a newer hotel with modern accommodations. Typically I've experienced that historic villages and cities have quaint but dated rooms and common areas. Don't get me wrong, the ambiance of historic properties offer a unique charm which we appreciate. But this location was a nice breather from the others during our 20 day English tour.
Have no complaints everything provided by the staff, room and location was above expectations.
I thought the team where excellent. It felt like a real treat.
