The staff is just great; and the price is very competitive. Pictures on booking.com are not fair to what the room actually looks like

good central location convenient for the city sights, and for transportation links (train and bus stations very close) didn't really see any staff, and as breakfast not included (no restaurant), it is hard to comment on this.

The staff really do make the stay - very pleasant, helpful and accomodating Excellent value for money Brilliant Location Comfortable rooms The shower was not as warm as we would have liked - but is a definite improvement on the last time we stayed It can get very noisy - but it is a busy pub so thats to be expected

Bed was comfortable, bathroom was decievingly big! The pub downstairs was good fun as well. I paid quite a lot for this room and there was no breakfast included as no staff were there until the afternoon, maybe something to improve on!

The location is in the town centre, it was a lovely room, friendly staff and very good value for money. It is a pub with a dj, we had the room at the back of the pub on the top floor and from 11 ish until 2ish it was impossible to sleep due to the noise coming from people outside and the base of the dj.

room was perfect very clean, no hot water for shower,no heating in room,no hot water for washing these are all health and safety issues to which i have consulted the council andtrading standards. with time to mess about a live band was playing they where good so with good beeer i sat in to listen etc, this was marred by a woman who was sick in a corner, the gentleman with her apologised to the bar staff who didnt clean it up or offer a mop to the man. i noted they hte staff then served them more drink erm they have had more than enough. this will be also refered to the council to deal with. the room

Convenient for the theatre which was the purpose of our stay. The live music on the Saturday night was not our taste but the locals were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and adequate and looked newly refurbished. Good value for money. Nothing to complain about.

It was close to the station and bus services, the shops and the castle and museum. The pub doesnt do breakfast but there were also lots of eating places and bright, friendly, lively pubs nearby. The room was clean and I especially liked the large fluffy white towels. The pub downstairs appeared dark and dingy and the overall effect wasnt very welcoming. Not the sort of pub I would be likely to frequent. They had entertainment on over the weekend, loud heavy rock music the one night, though luckily our room was on the 3rd floor and we barely heard it. There were 3 floors of narrow stairs up to the room and it was hard work carrying even our weekend cases up to the third floor. And especially hard work after walking round the shops and tourist places all day. Not recommended if your elderly or unfit.

My room was perfect; spacious, comfortable and clean. I was met with very friendly helpfulness. I had perfect peace and quiet (midweek) and no problem with the shower! I decided to buy a week's parking in the station car-park, which meant being able to forget about that. There is a cafe across the road and another about five minutes along the road which were great for breakfast. Thank you again for a very good stay.
