Loud music until 2am
Location Clean comfortable staff friendly
Noise Rooms a little tired
Room was clean and as avertised
Taxi rank opposite engines running late into the night. It was summer so too hot to shut window!
close to the train station and town and well priced.
dated decor and general appearance of having seen better days.
Location near station and bus station and town centre. and staff. Very friendly
Noisy music until 2am
I wasn't expecting a huge deal from what was, after all, budget accommodation, but the room was pleasant, the linen clean, the shower hot, the pillows soft and the bed comfortable. It was everything I needed, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a midweek spot to crash. It might not suit weekend visitors, unless you're used to a bit of noise - they are, after all, a music venue, but on a Tuesday night it was bliss...
The price, the location near the centre, about 3 min walk
Being a pub, could hear a lot of noise particularly between 10,30 and 1 in the morning!
Great location. Close to the train station and to High Street. Very comfortable king size bed. Large 50" flat screen TV. Regular sized shower. Good sized room. Friendly, helpful staff.
Bedding and towels were not changed during our 2week stay.
staff. nice cafe down the road lots of choice. central location
nothing to not like
Nothing to dislike
Surprisingly pleasant room, clean, good bathroom, coffee making facilities. We went for the cheapest available and were having a night out with friends so didn't really care and thought we would probably be slumming it. But we were impressed.
Easy to find, near the station, good clean place to crash
Pretty basic, might be too noisy for some- it is just a room above a pub.
Pleasant staff made this a very enjoyable stay. Nice and central
Yards from railway station. Convenient for exploring town and castle. Excellent friendly staff.
Narrow stairs. Entrance area could do with a refurbishment
Great Value Size of room and bed comfort of bed Nice decor Friendly staff
Cheesy music till 2.30 (but this didn't bother us really we had only just got back) Friendly staff Did not understand plug in bathroom sink
location value for money good shower and clean bedding
lots of noise from outside, not from traffic but from people leaving the pubs etc, but we did stop on a saturday night!! could do with refurbishing, lots of stains on carpet and furniture
Welcome from manager/owner. Very helpful. Lovely view of the courtyard, flowers and castle. Wifi free, but a bit slow.
Stayed 3 nights. My waste bin was not emptied during the entire stay. Room was clean on arrival but not carefully cleaned thereafter. Found the cleaner had left my tea-stained mug full of water in my basin on day two. Barman did not bother to ask if I had enjoyed my stay when I left.
Close to rail station. Good value for money
No permanent staff in the morning (though warned of this)
The room had everything i needed and was clean. Very good location near to the station
Room was situated up steep stairs. As a lone traveller felt a bit isolated. Would be nice if pub did breakfast
Proximity to town centre Room was very clean Tea and coffee making facilities were available.
No breakfast available Noisy No nets on window, I like my privacy. Stairs, slightly difficult access to room, fire dooors with baggage a bit difficult
Good value for money
Very dated decor
great location, great hotel, nice pub downstairs, very clean and quiet
just no breakfast
The room (8) was lovely but the bathroom was very small. Right in the middle of the town behind the castle so convenient for the shops.
Parking is no where near the hotel and its difficult if you have a suitcase. We only stayed on Sunday night so we only took what we needed out of our case and left the rest in the car. There is live music on Saturday and Sunday nights until very late. It would probably be noisy.
Its location, right in the town Centre and cheap parking only about 5 minutes away at the train station car park.
Very noisy at night(but to be honest we did read this on the reviews before we booked,i recommend earplugs),plus the beer garden was right outside the room window lol.
Location was good
Although we knew that the pub had live music until late. The noise from the pub customers in the beer garden was horrendous until the early hours of the morning.
