Nice stay, a couple of leisure days then business, friendly staff.
Corridor near room smelt of food from below but importantly not the room so ok
The free wifi and parking, and the location was fairly central.
There were bed bugs in the room we stayed in. I suspected bed bugs at first but hoped it was a heat rash (the room was also uncomfortably hot). But on our last night there, my husband found a bed bug crawling on his hand. We had to wash and disinfect all of our clothes and belongings when we got home, and I had about 30 bites by the time we left. I emailed the hotel afterwards to give them an opportunity to deal with the situation rather than posting a review. However, I never received a reply. I would never stay here again!
We stayed in a family room which was nice and big. The beds were comfy and the room and bathroom were clean. The hotel is outside town but it is only a 10 minute walk into the cathedral so it's not too bad.
The wifi in the rooms was very weak which was annoying. While the room was very nice the hallways are quite grimy and before we got to our room we were a little worried about what it would be like.
TV not working properly.
Spacious, clean room. Bathroom also a good size and with a powerful shower. The location was great, and loads of parking space.
The wifi was constantly cutting out which was frustrating. We also tried to watch the tv on one occasion whilst relaxing in the room but the freeview also cuts out constantly. These were not massively important to us, just a minor annoyance.
Staff friendly and helpful, great location and best room in the house, what's not to like?
Can't think of anything we didn't like.
Staff very helpful Great location 10 mins walk into Canterbury
Noisy rooms could hear the next rooms TV and kettle
Ideal location for walking to town centre. Ample parking. Excellent food with a wide and varied menu. Bar staffed to suit custom, little or no waiting at any time. Our large party had a great stay and will come again next year.
Bed was made each day of our three night stay, but we had to ask for towels to be changed, toiletries and coffee to be replenished. In fairness, this is the fifth time we have stayed at the Victoria and the first time this has happened.
We have sent a complaint to the o'neill we got there and we could not sleep because of the police and the room next to ours. We had to be away for half 5 in the morning so needed sleep. We got 1 hour
Location of the hotel was great, the single room was a decent size and the bathroom was good too.
Central heating in room was too high, but managed well with opening window.
Ideal if you want a bed and shower, no frills attached.
Carpets and some decor a bit tired.
The large free carpark, the short distance from the city centre, the helpful and friendly staff and the clean comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Also plenty of hot water and no excessive noise during the night.
Nothing to dislike
The staff was caring and helpful and I really enjoyed my stay there.
Very friendly and helpful staff (who gave me detailed directions to places in town and helped me to print out an important presentation), nice atmosphere, great location. Very spacious room and en-suite bathroom (unlike a lot of other hotels I've stayed in, the shower wasn't cramped and the bathroom floor didn't get wet at all).
Nothing major - I'd recommend the hotel and would stay there again.
Excellent location really friendly and welcoming staff, food was delicious.
Cigarette burn in net curtain, generally shabby décor, mould on blinds in bathroom etc needs a good facelift. Slightly perturbed about water dripping from spotlight in the restaurant!! If we had paid full price we would have been complaining.
Friendliness and cleanliness. Thanks for such a nice room. We were able to get around and the shower was great!
Food was just OK service was good and everything tasty but rather dry.
good alround hotel with a friendly staff .
breakfast not enclued in overall cost
Location, friendliness of staff, cleanliness of room. We arrived mid morning and were allowed to leave car in the car park whilst spending the day in Canterbury (10-15 minutes walk).
Comtortable beds and modern bathroom facilities. good value for money.
within walking distance of city,
Nice welcome and staff always very helpful. Rooms comfortable and clean. Free Wifi and serve a cracking Cavery. Perfect location for Canterbury and for using as a base for the related Kent Area.
15 mins to City Centre Car Parking Free WiFi Reception staff really helpful and welcoming Great family room
WiFi needs boosting - it kept dropping out Breakfast service could have been better
food was good and staff were friendly and helpful and easy walking distance for city center
because we were at the end of the building the wifi reception was poor plus the tv kept losing signal and the quality of picture was poor
