Quick walk into the town
Last time I stopped here had a really good experience this time not so. Wifi didn't work in our room and there was a workman working in the room above ours early in the morning in big boots!
The stay was good value and included a great breakfast with a good choice of products from continental to full English breakfast. We loved the 10 minute walk to the West-gate, past St Dunstan's church and interesting houses. Room was clean and comfortable with free wifi and meals were available in the evening.
Only problem was we couldn't find BBC on the TV?
Readiness with which staff allowed us to overstay our time (in lounge) till our family members arrived at 12.00.
The location was good and the parking was too.
The room was a good size but the cleanliness was disgusting. The kettle had a lot of limescale in and I couldn't drink any hot drinks from it. Also the bath needed to be cleaned as I found personal area body hair in the bath along with scum bits. Also the toilet hadn't been cleaned and there was excrement in the bowl. I feel this is basic things that should have been done prior to my arrival. Needs looking at!!
Comfortable, friendly, nice restaurant. Nice walk into town. Will be staying there again!
Location is mid-way to town centre and also the University
Good location, great Sunday lunch, most comfy bed and friendly staff.
Good choice at breakfast. Breakfast staff very polite.
Was told bar was 24hrs. Night staff couldn't be bothered to serve us first night. Heating was switched off second night. Very cold!
Good comfortable. Well equipped rooms. Clean. Very reasonable. Friendly staff... ish
Night porter did not open the bar at night when it should be open.
availability of sauna, and pool. spacious room. good breakfast.
additional charge to use the sauna, £5 for half hour. the wifi has a convoluted requirement for setting up a user-name and password, which only let you connect half the time, and then it was slow.
Easy access to town and easy parking, good choice of food and friendly service in restaurant also very good value for the size of the meals we were served.
The entrance in off the busy roundabout is not clearly marked, it's easy to find yourself entering via a no-entry road if you are not careful. However that's mainly the fault of Canterbury's road planners I guess ?
food and room
Bar area is grotty tight squeeze in single room.
Nothing to speak of as such, just that if there was a button for " less then POOR " I would have pressed that.
On arrival the receptionist passed snide negitive facial remarks about the Nobility Title. No lift to any floors. They changed our room without informing us after they confirmed the room we booked ie. from a room with a four poster bed to a standard room with a double bed and one single. No WI-FI in the room although they claim ti have free WiFi allover . Curtains broken at rail. Coffee making facility was through having to use a dirty electric kettle.
No real dislikes
Really handy for walking into town and ample free parking. Spacious, comfy family room and helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely and easy to find.
Lovely room and very friendly and helpful staff
The staff was warm, welcoming during Check-in time. Booked standard room, got a free upgrade which was brilliant! Room size was huge for 2 people. Breakfast was nice, loved the scrambled egg and bacon :) Overall a nice experience.
Friendly staff. Good location and free parking. Good sized rooms. Nice breakfast.
Decor rather dated. Breakfast bit expensive.
bed and wifi
there was no toiletries when we checked in nor the tele remote was there . So it was very embarrassing when they said it was all there . I think they need to be more professional .
The Hotel staff and food
The single room was a little bit small
Location was good for me, but can be a bit too far for others: 15 min quick walk to exterior gate of canterbury
We didn't like the breakfast: fruit out of cans, cereal with loads of sugar, bread of lower quality: if your looking for health: eat elsewere!
We liked the locashion just a nice walk in to Canterbury from the hotel
The toaster the bread had to go around two times
The room was large & had plenty of wardrobe & drawer space. The toilet was separate from the bathroom. The room was on the 1st floor. Near the city centre with free parking.
The separate toilet didn't have a hand basin. The rooms were above the kitchen, got too hot & no instructions on how to operate the air con. However, on the whole there were no Real problems.
Everything was better than expected. Would go again.
good car parking, friendly staff, decent size room - very quiet, excellent breakfast,
bit difficult to locate if you use the postcode with the sat nav
