Hotel was nice and it was in easy walking distance to the centre of canterbury.
The bed was strange, and on further inspection. It was made up of 2 single matress. And also found you could hear the person on the first floor walking around, which was a bit annoying.
The Hotel and staff rated very high in all departments. We will use the Victoria Hotel on all future trips to Canterbury and pass on out thoughts to our friends for them to use the Victoria when in need of a hotel in Canterbury
the fact we only stayed for one night and wished we had time to stay for a longer period longer.
The attentiveness of the staff who were most helpfull and could not do enough for me when I throught I had lost my car keys.
There was nothing i did not like.
Welcoming friendly atmosphere nothing was to much trouble for staff.
The hotel in general Breakfast Friendly staff Nice size room plus en suit
The bed was slightly too hard
SO FRIENDLY STAFF AND SUCH A SUPER PLACE
Nice breakfast and room was warm.
The room was clean and very quiet. Suited us 3 comfortably.
What I didn't like was the fact that the shower is fixed otherwise everything was great.
Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent restaurant with a wide and varied choice.
Room was a bit too hot.
Had two great meals in the restaurant. Both were perfectly cooked and served hot. A well stocked bar and good service. All staff were friendly and very helpful.
The food was really good, the burgers are superb, the breakfast is excellent value for money. The hotel was a 10 minute walk into the centre & straight off the A2,very easy to find.
Good location very clean and comfortable good parking near to city center . I have stayed before as a group of four adults which was great in a four bed room and proper adult beds !
Food and service very good.
Friendly Staff The whole ambience of the hotel Good quality food, and plenty of it. Free Parking What's not to like about this place?
Staff were good and English!
Poor choice of real ale.
Nice stay, a couple of leisure days then business, friendly staff.
Corridor near room smelt of food from below but importantly not the room so ok
The free wifi and parking, and the location was fairly central.
There were bed bugs in the room we stayed in. I suspected bed bugs at first but hoped it was a heat rash (the room was also uncomfortably hot). But on our last night there, my husband found a bed bug crawling on his hand. We had to wash and disinfect all of our clothes and belongings when we got home, and I had about 30 bites by the time we left. I emailed the hotel afterwards to give them an opportunity to deal with the situation rather than posting a review. However, I never received a reply. I would never stay here again!
We stayed in a family room which was nice and big. The beds were comfy and the room and bathroom were clean. The hotel is outside town but it is only a 10 minute walk into the cathedral so it's not too bad.
The wifi in the rooms was very weak which was annoying. While the room was very nice the hallways are quite grimy and before we got to our room we were a little worried about what it would be like.
TV not working properly.
Spacious, clean room. Bathroom also a good size and with a powerful shower. The location was great, and loads of parking space.
The wifi was constantly cutting out which was frustrating. We also tried to watch the tv on one occasion whilst relaxing in the room but the freeview also cuts out constantly. These were not massively important to us, just a minor annoyance.
Staff friendly and helpful, great location and best room in the house, what's not to like?
Can't think of anything we didn't like.
Staff very helpful Great location 10 mins walk into Canterbury
Noisy rooms could hear the next rooms TV and kettle
Ideal location for walking to town centre. Ample parking. Excellent food with a wide and varied menu. Bar staffed to suit custom, little or no waiting at any time. Our large party had a great stay and will come again next year.
Bed was made each day of our three night stay, but we had to ask for towels to be changed, toiletries and coffee to be replenished. In fairness, this is the fifth time we have stayed at the Victoria and the first time this has happened.
We have sent a complaint to the o'neill we got there and we could not sleep because of the police and the room next to ours. We had to be away for half 5 in the morning so needed sleep. We got 1 hour
Location of the hotel was great, the single room was a decent size and the bathroom was good too.
Central heating in room was too high, but managed well with opening window.
