Very friendly staff. Jar of coffee, sugar lumps and a flask of milk! Not the usual tiny cartons and mean single portions. Quirky room(s), but very clean and extremely comfortable. Printed local walks from pub provided. Excellent shower.
Not having longer to stay! We have booked again for some brisk walking in December.
Unusual accommodation but interesting, clean, modern & fun. Good food. Nice walks from the inn.
Tables in bar could be cleaner - bit off-putting when eating.
Staff were friendly and the room was clean
The bedroom was in the eaves and you could not walk around the double bed without bumping your head on the ceiling
Pub, food and staff all very good
Loved the service Loved the rooms Loved the location Loved the ambience with the grill outside and the fact you could sit and enjoy the noise in the background while retain privacy.
Nothing to comment.
Fantastic staff, beautiful surroundings, very clean and welcoming, staff couldn't do enough. Will definitely be returning soon.
Nothing it was perfect.
Amazing find! the bed was very comfortable, the shower lovely, staff extremely friendly, beautiful room, the spiral staircase made it different. Will definitely stay again!!
Location/garden/Restaurant all very good. Bedroom a little small but adequate Executive suite far better
No breakfast until 9.00am??
The fact that the suite is on two floors. Lovely shower room on ground floor, lovely sitting room on ground floor with good furnishings. Lovely patio area outside the suite. Two floors means two tvs, perfect for when one of the couple wants to watch World Cup Football.
That we couldn't stand up in the first floor bedroom as we would have hit our heads. Bewl Suite has the bedroom built into the roof area of the old Coach House and sadly the ceiling is a bit too low, even for one who is only 5 feet tall!.
Beautiful old inn with superb accommodation in the old coach house. I loved the arrangement of sitting room below (complete with sofa and digital radio) and bedroom above, with original exposed roof beams in the latter. Some reviewers have found the bedroom cramped but I'm six foot two and didn't have a problem - you just have to breathe in a bit to get past the bed to the wardrobe. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom downstairs was state of the art. The spiral staircase is quite narrow and has laminate wood treads, so might be a problem for someone who's infirm, but again this wasn't a problem and added to the character. The room also had a terrace to sit outside, overlooking the large pub garden, and the restaurant serves excellent food with al fresco dining on summer evenings. You have to pay extra for breakfast, but even so a stay here is great value for money.
Having closed the window blinds, I found them impossible to open again until advised by another guest (It's easy when you know how...)
awkward access to bedroom thru spiral staircase.bedroom too hot and small. Expensive, no breakfast included.
Split level accommodation with the bedroom upstairs, nice area to work in and relax in, modern bathroom, great food, drinks and service in the bar and restaurant.
Lovely location, ease of travel to nearby locations Having a small sitting area as well as a separate bedroom, Really good wet room with serious shower Very good food.
Some noise from a nearby road from about 7 o clock each morning, this would not be a problem in cooler weather but it was hot and the windows needed to be open.
Relaxing ,easy going,good food
Cramped bedroom with restricted headroom
Room was small but very tastefully designed and decorated.
Don't start breakfast till 9am.
Nicely fitted out room, good bathroom.
Very low ceiling, 6ft at highest point, most of it much lower, lowest I've ever seen. Low beams above sides of bed. Banged head twice, nearly knocked myself out. Breakfast charged as optional extra, but only served from 9am so not an option if you're working. No one around next morning to check out.
location . Garden area
not for us Im afraid the room is not ideal if anyone had problems with mobility due to the spiral stairs and the shower and toilet downstairs made it very awkward especially if you needed to go to loo during night! very small had to crawl into bed no room to move tv didnt work downstairs as my husband likes to watch news with his coffee in morning he could'nt do also because we had no milk in room (ok not a major problem he had black coffee and watched it upstairs ) we had to wait 3/4 hour between courses for main meal which was average and to top it all we ordered breakfast my husbands bacon and egg sandwich had mould on the crusts as did the toast and i had to get him to cut my salmon and egg bagel as it was solid bearing in mind breakfast is extra :0( for what it was a little over priced and we go away at least 2 weekend each month so can compare so overall very disappointed with this break
The bed was extremely comfortable
The room is noisy, near a busy road. The stairs in the room are steep and slippery
*Self contained accommodation *Pub food, very tasty. *Good bathroom with great shower.
*Accommodation was next to kitchen of pub. Very noisy, especially at night *Tv on ground floor didn't work. Not such a big deal but could be for others.
Was overly impressed by the cleanliness of the room. Nice outside space and bar.
Comfortable bed. Excellent restaurant.
The room was just not adequate. It was impossible to stand up in the bedroom, to dress in there. We could only move around the bedroom in our hands and knees.
Lovely, clean, smart accommodation. Very stylish pub/dining area with excellent food at very reasonable prices considering the quality. Staff very attentive and excellent service throughout stay.
The suite we stayed in was the one closest to the road. Although a small B road there was a surprising amount of traffic and therefore noise. The windows are double glazed so not Sue what the owners can do, however May be worth knowing for those booking.
The rooms are quirky and different, the pub food is of a good standard, this place would be superb on a summers evening as the rooms have their own terrace.
The spiral staircases (in the rooms) aren't the easiest to get up and down and I'm a keen fell runner so if you are elderly or infirm this isn't the place for you!
Food was good, well priced, good breakfast, with a reasonably priced wine list. Accommodation was well appointed
Bed was in an attic with very restricted headroom. Access was by a narrow circular staircase. Bedrooms were very close to the road and consequently fairly noisy
