The bed was amazing the pillows were to die for The wet room was nicely set out with plenty of safe The sofa really gave it a homely feeling The staircase really gave the place some character as well.
The pub was a very pleasant place to be. Staff were unobtrusively friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, as was the beer (Harveys Sussex bitter - lovely!). The rooms were comfortable and we had no issues with the spiral staircase (seems some people do). Breakfast maintained the high food standard. Would definitely visit again.
The proximity of the road does mean that, particularly in the early hours of the morning, you are aware of traffic, although it is not a busy road, early morning delivery lorries are noticed.
I had a delicious meal with an excellent choice of ales followed by a great nights sleep! Would definitely recommend a stay or short break here :-)
Only drawback are the tight spiral stairs up to the bedroom
Food was lovely Room clean and comfortable
Breakfast was only served from 9am which is no good as I was staying on business and needed to be out by 8am.
Adjoining restaurant and bar were great and we ended up having every meal there - not something we would usually expect to do. Excellent staff
Apartment layout a bit awkward, particularly if you're taller
The quirkiness and layout of the rooms. Location to Southern England Sandstone climbing locations Excellent food
There was a missing towel and bath mat the first night and the second no milk Wifi didn't stably stretch to our room at the end of the building
Good location for visiting Scotney and Hever castles etc. Nice village. Very nice modern and old restaurant with character. Large beer garden with the vineyard backing onto the premises. The staff remembered it was our anniversary and presented us with a glass of presecco, which was a nice touch.
We loved the privat patio with table and chairs. Very modern bathroom with a large shower ! Friendly and welcoming staff, we enjoyed our stay !
Really comfortable and lovely views with great breakfast. Will be back!
The idillic surrounds and laid back friendly atmosphere .
Food Service General decor and public places
Tiny cramped room Narrow staircase from bathroom to bed area on different floors
Fantastic food served by very friendly staff. Will definitely eat here again.
Room was a bit cramped and had cobwebs across the ceiling so wasn't really clean.
Lovely setting overlooking pub garden. Each room has it's own patio with table and chairs. Pub serves excellent food and wines. Decor nicely done throughout.
Tall people may bang their head on staircase leading up to bedroom. Gate at side of pub garden was often left open by staff which could be dangerous for young children who might step out onto busy main road.
Very friendly staff. Jar of coffee, sugar lumps and a flask of milk! Not the usual tiny cartons and mean single portions. Quirky room(s), but very clean and extremely comfortable. Printed local walks from pub provided. Excellent shower.
Not having longer to stay! We have booked again for some brisk walking in December.
Unusual accommodation but interesting, clean, modern & fun. Good food. Nice walks from the inn.
Tables in bar could be cleaner - bit off-putting when eating.
Staff were friendly and the room was clean
The bedroom was in the eaves and you could not walk around the double bed without bumping your head on the ceiling
Pub, food and staff all very good
Loved the service Loved the rooms Loved the location Loved the ambience with the grill outside and the fact you could sit and enjoy the noise in the background while retain privacy.
Nothing to comment.
Fantastic staff, beautiful surroundings, very clean and welcoming, staff couldn't do enough. Will definitely be returning soon.
Nothing it was perfect.
Amazing find! the bed was very comfortable, the shower lovely, staff extremely friendly, beautiful room, the spiral staircase made it different. Will definitely stay again!!
Location/garden/Restaurant all very good. Bedroom a little small but adequate Executive suite far better
No breakfast until 9.00am??
The fact that the suite is on two floors. Lovely shower room on ground floor, lovely sitting room on ground floor with good furnishings. Lovely patio area outside the suite. Two floors means two tvs, perfect for when one of the couple wants to watch World Cup Football.
That we couldn't stand up in the first floor bedroom as we would have hit our heads. Bewl Suite has the bedroom built into the roof area of the old Coach House and sadly the ceiling is a bit too low, even for one who is only 5 feet tall!.
Beautiful old inn with superb accommodation in the old coach house. I loved the arrangement of sitting room below (complete with sofa and digital radio) and bedroom above, with original exposed roof beams in the latter. Some reviewers have found the bedroom cramped but I'm six foot two and didn't have a problem - you just have to breathe in a bit to get past the bed to the wardrobe. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom downstairs was state of the art. The spiral staircase is quite narrow and has laminate wood treads, so might be a problem for someone who's infirm, but again this wasn't a problem and added to the character. The room also had a terrace to sit outside, overlooking the large pub garden, and the restaurant serves excellent food with al fresco dining on summer evenings. You have to pay extra for breakfast, but even so a stay here is great value for money.
Having closed the window blinds, I found them impossible to open again until advised by another guest (It's easy when you know how...)
awkward access to bedroom thru spiral staircase.bedroom too hot and small. Expensive, no breakfast included.
