Great location for train station, prom, tower, central pier etc. Fabulous breakfast! Rooms could do with a face lift, but clean & tidy. Great family value.
The staff were excellent, very polite, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast excellent and cooked to order and plenty of it. The location is very close to all amenities, town centre and buses.
Décor in my room (6) very poor, wallpaper peeling away from wall down seams, holes in wallpaper showing bare plaster underneath and the one chest of drawers available were tatty, all in all the décor very tired and badly in need of updating. A shame really as the rest of stay was very good.
This 'hotel' was booked mainly because of the good reviews but as we found out reviews count for absolutely nothing. The hotel is in serious need of some decoration but more seriously had the stench of stale cigarettes prevalent everywhere and as this 'hotel' is advertised as a 'no smoking family establishment' this was somewhat of a shock. Our accomodation was on the 2nd floor and although we had to open two doors to enter the 'family suite' the same stench was everywhere. Other guests confirmed to me that the stench was strong, however, when questioned the 'management' blamed smoke being blown in from the street and denied he could detect any strong smell.....maybe he had a cold ? Also, when questioned about any refund due to the 'hotel' not being smoke free the 'management' flatly turned down any suggestion stating that he'd lose money. Never mind the paying customer eh ?? Unfortunately we were unable to locate alternative AND smoke free accomodation anywhere else due to our stay being over a bank holiday weekend and there were simply no vacancies anywhere. We left early the following morning without even daring to attempt breakfast. Another point to raise is we were asked to pay the remainder of the bill in full on booking in, this I found unusual but maybe other guests have complained before and refused to pay and the 'management' decided that this is the best way to keep their profits up. Bookings.com were contacted to register my complaint, but the only response I received was the exact same reply the 'management' of the 'hotel' had given me. Hardly acceptable customer service and a very good reason for not using the company again. To sum up our visit to Blackpool, if you have a 4 year old and and want to stay in a smoke infested 'hotel' then this is the place for you..
Craig was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent..the girl helping out at breakfast was friendly and attentive. Brilliant location.
Room was a bit dingy...could do with a lick of paint and definitely new CLEAN bedding. Constant noise from a boiler or pipes..all day all night. Didn't sleep first night because of it..bought ear plugs and slept fine then.
Location perfect, great breakfast and accommodating staff.
Lots of dust on TV, wash and toilet room on a slant (felt like you were on a boat) Double bedroom door unable to shut. Shower temperature temperamental.
Owner Craig was as straight as an arrow,to the point. Ask a question and you get an answer, and I for one prefer that.
I had to go home, we wanted to stay longer
Nothing at all I want my money back !!! The place was so outdated smelly it was like a prison, we DID NOT STAY and had to look for somthing else ?????
The whole thing. We walked in was told to pay the balance of £217 as the deposit of £69 was already taken, so I paid on my debit card. He took us up to room 7 on the third floor opened the door gave us the key and ran out. Welooked at each other my wife and kids were so upset we couldnt stand the smell, there were no way we were going to stay there. We went straight out and I drove round looking for an other place at . What a nightmare. Please give my money back!,,,,

Value for money Comfortable Friendly staff
Craig the manager was friendly, helpful and prepared brilliant full English breakfasts. The room was comfortable and clean and the tariff exceptionally reasonable. The Wakefield House Hotel is so close to everything in Blackpool that the combination of comfort, efficiency and position make this hotel excellent value for money.
Good value for money, friendly service and clean. A good location and I would use it again. Certainly very handy for using as a base when exploring Blackpool.
Nothing to report
Very centrally located. 2 mins walk to the Tower. Boys loved the pool table. Craig was very helpful at all times. Would stay again - had a great time.

everthing was good
he needs to get some things done a bit more like lock on doors the light swich turn the main out hooks on the door to hang up with
Close to the town, restaurants, amusements, illuminations, beach etc and also the secure parking.
The poor standard of some of the facilities in the hotel e.g. toilets not flushing properly, holes in one of the bedroom floors, TV that didn't work etc.
It had a friendly staff. The breakfast was good.
The rooms were clean and the breakfast was lovely. Kids really enjoyed it.
