Location was perfect for Covent Garden etc.
Not a executive bathroom in my view
Way too expensive for the shoebox size room we got
Very good location right in the heart of the city
Very Very exspensive bar £32.00 for two single shorts with one mixer !
How dirty the room was, bath and toilet. Small rooms.
Hotel itself was great. However at night time the room got extremely warm and windows did not open. I got up twice to turn on air con. In the morning I realised it said 'fault' on the system. When I reported this to reception, they said there was nothing they could do as I booked through Booking.com. If I had booked direct and paid on leaving I would have had some sort of refund. Hotel is lovely but weekend got ruined as couldn't sleep due to the heat.
How we booked. Should have booked direct. Next time hey....
Had a great time at the Waldorf... Breakfast was fab! Best scrambled egg ever!!!!
I had to leave
On Saturday and Sunday, the gym and the pool are open between 9.00 and 17.00/18.00. This does not work well for weekend guests. The breakfast ends at 10.00 so you can't visit in the morning. We normally came back from the city after five and were not able to visit either.
Location great, staff friendly and helpful, a little pricey, room great. Executive lounge too busy or too small! That's the only fault.
I liked the location, excellent customer service and the majority of the staff working in various sections!!
I didn't like the selection of food in the breakfast buffet and room service as well!!! It was really disappoint !
Excellent hotel, had a wonderful stay. Would definitely go back.
I have to say that I do not think there is a more impressive looking hotel in london and all of the common areas are outstanding. The staff were great and very attentative and all in all we had a good stay.
The room we stayed in did not feel like an £300 a night room. It was just adequate and no more. For that price I was expecting a little more? I have stayed in much better rooms for half the price we paid.
Staff were friendly, room was very comfortable, & the location is superb
The only negative was that despite there being a note pad on the desk, there wasn't a pen, or pencil.
Food left in the mini bar from previous guests, air conditioning was dripping on the floor, no communication to say that the swimming pool was no in use.... Just all round disappointed for the cost, would I stay again probably not
Small bed Small room Dated interior decor
Pleasant welcome from the person on the door The location was good
From the front door it went down hill The took a deposit instead of credit card. £100 usually it's £50. But they took £200 and 5 days later in writing this I havnt received it back into my account Breakfast was poor and disorganised I don't normally write about poor service. But in this case I feel I have to tell the next customer
Wifi extra charge Room very small Breakfast £22!
Too expensive, not value for money
Bed comfort, location.
Some breakfast staff unable to understand english and reception staff I had difficulties understanding their english. Quality of cooked buffet breakfast - poor.
The location was good for West End
The room was terrible - we have stayed in 3 star hotels with better facilities than this - the hair dryer did not work unless you press the plug with one hand...the old aircon unit against the wall was falling apart the curtains do not hang properly and everything looks really old and warn....
Location! That is all
Breakfast was awful, cold loads of missing food and took over an hour Spa was being refurbished and wasn't told till we arrived? Rooms were dated and basic
Everything that requires hotel staff to be involved in takes too long. Waited 20min upon arrival to get the keys. Waited 45 minutes for 3 pancakes, waited 20 minutes to check out. It is common at this hotel that nobody bothers to pick up the trays from the aisles. Dished used by guests for breakfast or dinner in the room will become stable friends of yours during the journey in this hotel
I like the Executive Lounge. Good quality wines and liquor in the evening. Nice tea. REally good food for Breakfast. I like the rooms had multiple countries' electrical outlets. I could plug my American appliances in their outlets with no adapter. Location is in a very SAFE area. I LOVED the Door Man. He is excellent and helped us find a cab or directed us when to cross the road. He was very helpful, friendly and courteous. The people working the lounge were very nice and cleaned off tables quickly as there were so many people in the lounge. I liked the free wifi in the room. This location is a short 2 minute walk to Sommerset Ice Rink for skating, close to Convent Garden, Borough Market and a few theatres. Buses stop in front of the hotel (Aldwych) and that was convenient one night when we could not hail a cab.
The concierge suggested that I walk to a theatre he had never been to. He told me it was a "7 minute walk" and I would have plenty of time to see the show and have a drink. It took me 34 minutes to find it (getting lost and asking several people for directions) and my USA cell phone did not have directions. NEVER WALK TO A THEATRE in london. The streets are crazy and go off in strange directions. The concierge should have agreed with me when I asked, "should I take a taxi?" I didn't mind a taxi but he insisted that it the theatre was so close by. It WAS NOT. Later, when I looked for the theater on a map, it was so far away. I arrived at 7:29 (all sweaty) for a 7:30 show. So upset that I almost missed a show which cost me close to $400 for tickets. Also, I'm over 50 and from the USA where we drive everywhere, so the concierge should know if he is working with people from other countries. Biggest disappointment of that stay. He redeemed himself a little a few days later when he suggested we take a private car (Mercedes) to Heathrow. That was so much easier, more comfortable and good price compared to the Rail system we arrived on as we had so much luggage with us.
Not what I expect from a 5 star hotel. Rooms outdated and looked worn
The location allowed easy access to Covent garden..Leicester Square and the beautiful lights and decorations everywhere really gave a lovely start to the Chritsmas holiday....
Great location door staff fantastic everything that you would expect from a Waldorf Hilton.
Very disappointed to discover that there was no Gym available neither a pool available, since the only reason I booked in the first place was to have these facilities. Since not having the swim and Gym available I decided to leave early at 6.00am. I asked if it were possible to have the breakfast early so I could beat the traffic (Just Alpen toast and coffee) only to be charged again for breakfast £50.00. Also since I had paid for breakfast £40.00 I was very disappointed to be honest I just expected better service, and integrity. There was no offer or gesture of recourse re the Gym & pool being refurbed but they could have put this up on booking . com stating it would be out of use between whenever. At least then I would have the choice to carry on with the booking.
