We went there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and the hotel was wonderful about giving us a special time, including a little surprise cake in the room on the day of his birthday and a bottle of wine.

The hotel is spectacular as you walk through the doors, once inside the staff are very attentive! The breakfast was the highlight of our trip! Check in was at 3pm at 6pm we still had no room! We got upgraded for a second time to a room that was actually available! We were in a showcase suite at what would of cost £800 a night and I must say I'm glad we didn't see our chosen room as the "suite" was very average and most things were missing! I would recommend this hotel if you get a bargain but not at full price! Oh and if you don't pay when you book via booking.com they charge you hotel rates not the rate quoted online!

The room was not good at all, had a view of the boiler. Inside there was a broken light fitting, chipped furniture. We had room service & they did not come in to remove the plates etc. Usually when you go out the staff come in to turn down the bed, not here !!!

Location I think that the Waldorf Hilton is definately surviving on past reputation - there is a general lack of staff, especially "cleaning" staff - We could not enter our room untill 1 hour after our allocated booking in slot - due to many rooms not being available and made ready [cleaned], but this did result in a room upgrade, and only after a debate with three members of staff. The situation was not helped by the fact that people were arriving for higher grade rooms and getting immidiate allocation. Value for money - poor, but we did manage to enjoy our stay, if only the fact we made sure that we did. We were there to celebrade our wedding anniversary and the only down side unfortunately was the hotel - not up to standard - simple as !!

Staff were friendly and efficient Looking pretty dated in parts. Design of bedroom - e.g. no mirror in the bedroom (only the bathroom) and the hairdryer was fixed in the wardrobe. No door between bathroom and bedroom

The location and service were both extraordinary. Sunny on the Concierge desk, and Hassan, at the door, were both exceptional employees. We really liked the package price that includes breakfast and the breakfast was very good. The only issue was that there is no mirror where the hair dryer is located, and the hair dryer is fastened so it cannot be moved. This was very inconvenient. I would suggest either installing mirrors or allowing the hair dryer to be used in the bathroom where the only mirror is located

The location was fantastic, right behind Covent Garden which was perfect for us on this trip. The staff and their manner was exceptional at all times- friendly, polite, professional and helpful. The room was nice and the bed very comfortable. The bar was a nice place to have a drink after the theatre, the Homage Room was nice to have breakfast in as was the Palm Court used in the film 'A Night To Remember'. We requested an upgrade but unfortunately didn't get it, but this then led to confusion, as in our room we had the features of the upgrade (according to the room information in the hotel guide which was in our room) - toiletries weren't Crabtree & Evelyn, they were the upgraded ones; we had a blackout blind and sheer curtains....so I didn't know if we had the access to the Executive Club or not, so didn't use it. My husband checked in before me, so I didn't know there was a button to flick to let housekeeping know when we were in the room or not. This led to our room not being done when we got back mid afternoon! However we went out again at 5pm and remembered to turn the switch off. When we got back someone had been and turned our beds down- lovely, but I did think they could have given us some more toiletries whilst they were there as we were then left with none for the next morning. Our lamp was a lovely design, but was missing 2 shades off the individual lamps on it. I also thought the seating area was in an odd spot, all of the furniture seemed to be on one side of the room. Compared to other 5* hotels I have stayed in, I expected more luxury. This was evident in the communal areas but not in the room so much which I felt was more a 4* level.

Location to Covent Garden and approachable staff The meagre hospitality tray in the bedroom; not replaced regularly. I think for this standard of hotel it should be much more generous and on a par with other hotels at this star grade in London. Didn't like the metal mugs either!

The hotel and staff were everything I expected for the standard of the hotel, we were very well looked after during out stay. The suite we stayed in didnt have any character to it unlike the actual building itself. Could have been a room in any hotel, not what I expected.

Location and excellent breakfast We were promised a Queen bed, but had a standard double. The 'bathroom' was in the room, not separate, and the walls to the toilet and shower were glass - not nice when sharing a room !

The room was very clean, the bed was firm and comfortable and the shower was excellent Thought they had cut corners from our previous experiences of this hotel. The cafetieres and proper coffee in the rooms had been replaced with Nescafe Gold sachets, jugs of milk with full cream pots and luxury biscuits with Walkers shortbread. Had to pay £15 for wifi if you wanted it. Refurbished room was very cold greys and blues - didn't feel luxurious.
