Located overlooking the city’s Roman walls, The Hampton by Hilton York is across from York Train Station and a 10-minute walk from the historic center.

Overlooking the River Ouse, the Park Inn by Radisson is in the center of York. It has air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TVs, a riverside bar, a modern restaurant and on-site parking.
Score from 2000 reviews Very good
In the heart of historic York, this Hilton has 2 bars, 2 restaurants and is across from the ancient Clifford's Tower. Modern rooms, each with a flat-screen TV, are close to the Jorvik Viking Center.

The Dairy is a lovingly restored and upgraded Victorian townhouse, keeping its 19th-century character and original features.
Score from 155 reviews Excellent
I spoke with Richard the manager/owner to see if I could arrange flowers to be sent to the room for a surprise to my girlfriend he was more than willing to do this and went out his way to do so, couldn't be happier he made it more special, really helpful man. The restaurant downstairs was lovely too, you won't be able to get a more central location than this one. The room was lovely too
Room was clean, bathroom was a good size, tv worked, great location.
Maybe a bit pricey
A lil noisy but its the main pub route which is expected
The bed was comfortable and the river view was lovely.
The noise was terrible all night. The proximity of clubs and pubs and lack of double glazing meant loud voices til after 2am, with the street cleaners taking over at 5am. The wifi instructions only gave a password, not the network name and we could not get connected. When we tried to call the owner for help, we could not get any response.
Quaint rooms, central location
Location and room
The location was excellent!
Struggled to find it! A man let us in but then not told how to get hold of anyone if needed!
Arrived after a rather stressful day. Wasn't expecting a fantastic room as left it last min 2book and wasn't much left if I'm honest! WELL... I've never left a review before as I don't really have the time but I've got 2give this one. Met Richard on arrival (hope I have his name correct), lovely informative without the over the top zzz I normally recive in a place when all I want is my room and a lie down after the journey. Stunning room nothing more I can say!! Oh actually great. Will not stay in York anywere else again!
There was nothing to like
The hotel is a scam there is no restaurant no checking in desk there is nothing only a flight of stairs leading from the main road up to your room and to top the miserable night off there is a night club/bar playing very loud music underneath your bed room till the early hours of the morning I could not even find the hotel and I used to live in York all there is , is a black door with waterfront hotel please call the number to be let in It was a miserable night and a total waste of money and I think I should be given a full refund I'm not happy
poor facilities, room not cleaned properly, cramped, misleading website poor value for money. do not stay here
Firm bed, central location
Stuffy atmosphere, expensive for what it is.
Location was fantastic, and we had a great view over the river.
No reception area and difficult to find the entrance - limited opportunities to interact with hotel management if it had been needed.
Location was brilliant
The location next to the river was very nice, and convenient as it was walkable to the town centre.
We could not sleep due to the shouting and noise from the nearby night club until around 2am. The windows were single glazed. The beds were not particularly comfortable and there was no sign of breakfast, not even a biscuit in the room.
Room (5) was well proportioned. Bed comfortable. The location was wonderful, within the town centre and next to the river Ouse.
Room 5. The toilet didn't drain properly so flushing nearly filled the bowl and then the water drained out slowly. Not nice. The door didn't lock from the inside. Room was on the second floor and the stairs were steep. Light sleeper kept awake by carousers until early hours, then the geese started!
The Location was great
The bed was horrible, no support at all. 3.30 in the morning a gang lads in the Street made that much noise we where awake for hours, double glazing would have helped.
The owner was very friendly and accommodating, and the location is good.
At 1:30am, someone started partying in a nearby room. Loud music. There was no one to call about the disturbance. Couldn't sleep again until 2:30.
I woke up to see a graceful swan and her babies swimming by. My room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Location, on the riverfront was great and it's an easy walk to York city center.
nice room overlooking the river. the funny drunk people from the 2 pubs that this hotel sits between.
its between 2 pubs with outdoor drinking, and lots of ... drunk people.
The location on the waterfront was fabulous.
If you're looking for customer service, don't stay here. The check in time is very strange. There is only one hour during the day to check in or you have to wait until after six, so when I arrived early afternoon, I lost a day site seeing in York because I had no place to put luggage. Also, the owner does not answer phone calls. After the check-in date, I never saw the owner or staff again the next two days, which I needed when the fan broke during an extremely hot day. The building is up for sale, and it seems like the owner just doesn't care anymore.
Good view, easy access to york city centre. Comfortable bed. We left our chargers behind and the owner has offered to send them back.
Poor access, shabby entrance. Smelly (cigarette smoke), even the towels were smelly. The shower screen was broken and we had to put it back together 4 times. Staff only evident when restaurant open. We paid £260 for a room for 2 nights, without breakfast. Not recognisable from the website pictures.
Shower didn't work.
The room was fine and the location very convenient. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
If you intend to go to bed before 4am on a Saturday night, then stay somewhere else. There was so much noise from rowdy groups of people outside shouting and crashing that it was impossible to sleep. These are rooms above a pub. No breakfast was available. The mugs were dirty and there was fluff in the kettle.
Great view and good location.
Staff were difficult to locate when checking out
The view and location
The price and the staircase and no breakfast
