A very clean and comfortable room (I had an en-suite) in a good location - a 10-15 minute walk to central Cambridge across one of the city's most pleasant parks. The staff were very friendly. I had been prepared for noise from pub customers and the road but found it was not loud enough to disturb me. I look forward to returning on future visits to Cambridge.

Location, Beer, Food (dinner), Service (friendly and attentive) Cost (compared with Travelodge, say), Breakfast (compared with Travelodge) - though we know Cambridge is expensive and wanted a location convenient for our needs at the time.

Room clean but just a place to sleep really! Decent pub food in bar below. Noisy but ideal location if you are visiting colleges. Pleasant and helpful staff. Adjustable heating in room was very efficient. On a busy junction so heavy traffic noise from 6am (we had the quiet room)! Shared bathroom - management attempt to maintain clean between guests but not always pleasant to enter a humid shower room.

Convenient location, clean and not old fashioned. Friendly staff. Paint smell although we appreciate the renovations taking place. Sheet on the bed not being tucked in.

I stayed a weekend in a twin room with a friend and was very pleased with the experience. The Watermanis definitely good value for money! First of all, the place is very neat and clean: the furnishing/decoration was new and stylish, and the bathroom and toilet were absolutelyspotless. The staff was friendly and relaxed. Also, the location is quite nice, close to the town centre. I would definitely recommend this place! The only small minus was maybe that there is only one showerroom for all the guests (and all together about 6? rooms), so in the morning you might have to wait a little to take a shower. In the restaurant downstairs, there was still some reburbishing going on during our stay, so there was a little bit of unfinished feel, but breakfast and all worked ok.

The location of the hotel is really convenient - you can take a taxi from the train station, or a bus, and you'll be there very fast. From the hotel you can walk to the center of Cambridge through the park or around it - it doesn't take long, and the view is great. The stuff of the hotel is extremely friendly and helpful, it made our stay really comfortable and relaxing. Don't forget to buy your dinner and drinks at the hotel pub - food tastes very good, and beer is very nice. Would definitely stay there again! Didn't like that the breakfast was continental and not English, but that's not so bad compared to all the good qualities of the hotel.

Comfortable, warm room with good facilities. Central location - easy and free parking outside, Staff were friendly and helpful. Slightly noisy with road right outside and air vent open. Mix up with an early breakfast which had been offered/agreed but staff forgot to arrive in morning. However, helpful girl was very apologetic and did organise a takeaway bag of fruit and croissants.

Very clean, perfect bathroom even though not in the room. Very friendly staff. We left our luggage there all day, after checking out. Nice walk to the old center. A bit too noisy if you have an important event the next day. Maybe you want to ask for the quiet side....

Location and friendliness. Shared bathroom - it was difficult to get a shower in the morning and in the end we gave up. No cooked breakfast, just cereals, toast, fruit and yoghurt. When it says breakfast included don't expect anything cooked.

Cheap price. Fairly central location - just a nice stroll along Jesus Green to the colleges. It's not en-suite and the rooms are quite small. Also, it's next to quite a major road, so there is some traffic noise. For a one-night stay after a night out with a friend it was perfect, but wouldn't choose it for a longer or romantic stay.

For a pub-based B and B, the Waterman rooms are exactly as described, the breakfast of fresh fruits and breads is well done, the rooms are unusually quiet, and the staff helpful with information and gear as needed. Everything was as expected and better in some cases.
