Comfortable place with mostly helpful staff
Poor electrical options for use of the desk with a laptop. Without the extension lead supplied from the kitchen, I could not have used the desk.
We have stayed at the Watermill many times since 1992. It is convenient to airport, city and shops with a great outlook towards the old Coates cotton factory. It is usually clean and tidy and quite comfortable and the staff look after you.
We took a friend to dinner in the restaurant and was most disappointed with the food which was 2nd rate which explained why there was only 5 people in the restaurant on a Saturday night and the bar almost empty. In the past we would have needed to book it was so popular. Being woken up and evacuated at 3.30 am for a fire alarm also didnt help our stay.
location staff food
bathroom lack of hot water am
Staff very helpful, public rooms good. Bedroom very small and chair was very uncomfortable, needs to be re-upholstered. Lovely view of the millrace from the dining room. Food was pretty good on the whole with large portions.
waiting forever for the water to heat up for a shower, then it was only lukewarm. Toilet took forever to flush. Facing on the bathtub had a long crack and a hole in it.
Staff pleasant and helpfull slept well in center of town good access to selection of entertainment and variety of restaurants within walking distance
Room telephones did not work generally quite dated heating lacked control shower poor pressure rooms and corridors tend to be clustrafobic cracked floor tiles in bathroom
everything would stay in the future but would need a quiet mroom.
noise from inconsiderate people in the next room tv on until 12.00 midnight.
Easy reach by bus to Glasgow Airport. Staff very helpful. Food was excellent and very good value.
Attention needed to hot water supply as the water never got past warm.
We enjoyed our stay at the Watermill. Staff were always happy to assist. Food was good, accommodation was excellent and very clean. Hotel was central. Would recommend and stay there again.
I liked the friendliness of staff, generally clean room with good basic facilities. The food in the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast was excellent, we would recommend the restaurant to everyone we know living locally, the chef is brilliant and the serving staff very professional. Great view of the river Cart from our room .
The shower room is in need of some attention, cracked tiles on floor and when you stood on one it popped out and hit your foot, it was clean but tatty paint work. Apart from the shower room I was very happy with the room. There was a lot of noise throughout the first night we stayed but we put it down to noisy guests on the floor above.
near to centre / Paisley Cross Paisley Abbey 2 mins. away can bee seen from hotel. Close to Railway Station - Paisley Gilmour Street. All buses at Cross for all destinations. Plenty good Pubs near by. Handy for Glasgow. Reasonable taxi fares. Hotel room was warm , quiet and comfortable.
Very surprised by the room which was much better than expected for the money! Dressing gowns and lovely towels provided.Very pretty views. Excellent receptionist.
The bar is soulless and don't bother with the breakfast - cheap ingredients and cold, the one that turned up! Noisy oriental coach party running around banging on doors until the early hours.
The fact that it is cheaper and far better in all the hotels at the airport and is only a GBP5.00 taxi fare from the airport is a big factor...also free very strong wifi should be considered.
Nothing - all is very fine.
The location was good. The bar food was good and fairly quick. It was a quiet location.
Duff bulb in one of the lights in the bedroom.
Room Staff Value for money Location Fridge Tea/Coffee stuff
Service and quality of food were excellent Brilliant fire alarm response from the local fire brigade
Children allowed to run and scream, the fire alarm going off at 3:45am (but better safe than sorry). The people in the room above mine 'partied' until 2am Thin walls and ceilings
Staff were great, service was great, food lovely
Noisy road prevented any form of sleep.
The hotel is centrally located in Paisley has ample parking and is easy to find when travelling from outwith the area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were of an adequate size and well appointed although a bit dated. Evening meal of beer battered fish was made with very fresh fish and was cooked to perfection. The breakfast was equally delicious. The hotel is handy for visiting the historic Paisley Abbey.
Nothing really. The only criticism if any, was that the bar closed early on a Friday night, even for residents.
proximity to airport
window would not close damp and musty feel to hotel carpets need replacing
We paid for breakfast and mine looked and tasted as if it had been under the heat lamps for hours.
Rooms in need of modernisation
Near family. Convenient. Nice view of river from room
Poor access to terrace. Tables and chairs on terrace v dirty. Not inviting. Seems a shame to have a lovely view like that and for Timor to be used well. Also more crucially the lift kept breaking down. My father is disabled and he got stuck for 10 minutes by the lift unable to gain access or walk downstairs. He was quite distressed.
Staff were very friendly, especially those working in the bar area.
The continental breakfast wasnt very good. The coffee was way too strong and they didnt haveall the items that we had ordered.
Staff, general decor and comfort, location.
Very poor air con, We couldnt actually breathe ! window in bedroom was so tiny, I actually had to take a walk at 2am outside to get some air, far too warm, needs larger windows or air con.
