Hospitable and friendly Clean and accommodating Breakfast excellent Breakfast staff very nice and the owner discussed our stay Bed sheet not changed in the 4 day stay. Pillows were too hard and a selection of hard and soft would have been nice - we should have asked for them to be changed.

A lovely warm welcome. Bedroom was very clean and comfortable and complimentary water was a bonus. The staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was a high standard. The position of the hotel makes it an excellent base for exploring the area. There is a footpath leading to the coastal path just minutes from the front of the hotel. Brixham is within easy walking distance. If you don't want to walk the steam railway is right next door! It would have been nice to have had a residents lounge to relax in as the bar area is quite busy and more a reception area for the restaurant.

Lovely big, spacious, spotlessly clean room. Very friendly staff, excellent food in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend. My partner found the breakfast portions quite small.

Great location in Torbay. Easy parking. Smoked haddock breakfast. Large comfortable bed and large room. Lugging suitcases up several flights of stairs. Access to the car park from the main road is a bit tricky if coming from Paington. Hotel forgot about our dinner booking and put us in the back room.

We found this hotel excellent, the welcome was warm and we were shown to our room, given dinner menu to take with us and peruse whilst we relaxed. The room facilities were very nice, clean and modern, with free wi-fi connection. We ate in the Restaurant and the food was of a high standard, with a wide choice. The restaurant/bar staff were welcoming, engaging and professional and happy to join in conversation, as we sat at the bar for drinks. The owner was very visible asking us if everything was ok on several occassions. Breakfast and check out was all we required and courteous - well recommended. Future visitors should know that this is a quality restaurant and bar with accommodation of a very good standard, rather than a fully functioning Hotel, therefore we were unable to check in until the bar opened at 5.30pm. It was clear though, that had we been there whilst the bar was open at lunch, we could have checked in or, i am sure, by prior arrangement with the owner, as nothing seemed too much trouble - our only minor grumble.

The lady who served breakfast was lovely & friendly. Breakfast was very good. Room was clean & tidy. It's a pud that's tried to go posh! Nice decoration but no atmosphere. The staff (all apart from the lady who served breakfast) where on the cheesy side & rushed. Room was freezing even with an electric heater on the go.Nicer at The Manor in Galmpton

Very friendly family run hotel. Room was excellent, food was good. Service was first class. An outstanding little pub/restuarant with rooms. In addition I want to report that the help they gave after my wife had an accident and had to be sent to hospital was exemplary. They gave me every possible help - a sandwich when I got back from the hospital very late, access to their computer so I could send e-mail messages. And they even reduced ny room tariff to 'single occupancy' without me having mentioned it.
