Nothing - would recommend this hotel, especially to those on business in Hook.

Food was very good

The rooms and breakfast room were looking a bit 'Tired'. In need of refurbishment

The price. Good food and beer/wine then a room without having to drive. Attentive staff. Quiet room.

Could do with a repaint. Some of the decor is a little worn.

I had room 1 which was very large but very cold. The outside temperature was very cold, but single glazed windows and two small radiators in a room that size was not enough. The heating also went off overnight. Double glazing would help with heating and noise, the A33 is busy.

Very friendly staff, comfortable beds, nice rooms, relaxing stay.

The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were friendly and the room was cosy!! The food was great too!!

Bar Restaurant area very comfortable & friendly, beer and food very good. Staff very pleasant. Bathroom a bit dated but clean and spacious. Will definately stay again

They did not have a booking for us and we had to stay in single rooms which was all they had left!!!!

Dinner was good, home cooking and value for money. Breakfast was good.

Service was slow in all area, staff seemed manic. The room was terrible, cold, draughty windows, disgusting bathroom, cold water pm for bath, no pressure am for shower, bed springs poking through mattress, decor was oppressive, shabby chic without the chic! I did not pay for the room.

Attention to detail is needed by the staff cleaning the room. The bath had long black hair in it, clearly a woman's. There was a half eaten biscuit and its wrapper in the cupboard where the tv is located. The type of biscuit wasn't even the ones provided in the tea area of the room which means it must have been there quite a while. As a soldier i just get on with it as i am used to living in ditches etc, however a civilian customer may not be so tolerant and understanding.

The location was suitable for our 2 night break visiting friends.

Room 22 The mattress was very uncomfortable and past it sell-by date. The mattress sunk in the middle and was very lumpy in the middle The glass/chrome shower door was incredibly rusty and needs replacing as it wasnt pleasant to look at it while having a bath, the shower handle was cracked all the way thorugh and nipped your skin when turning on the shower. The toilet seat was worn badly as the varnish was cracked and missing, causing the wood to be exposed and I dread to imagine the germs contained in the wood. The small window above the bath was black with dirt/mould/mildew. It would help if the bathroom fan worked as we noticed a small sign on an corridor wall which required all bathroom doors to be shut when showering to stop the smoke alarm being activated - this led to a very slippery floor and streamed up bathroom. Finally, there is no where for us to sit and have a realxing drink before our taxi arrived on Saturday evening. We felt uncomfortable stood in the bar which is surrounded by dining tables. The staff did not speak to us or offer a stool by the bar, we felt 'in the way'. However, we could have returned to our room and wait until we were to go out, but not ideal?

It is a traditional country house &pub ,well mainained with very good dinner settings . Relaxed athmosphere and very friendly staffThe neighbouring road

The neighbouring road A33 is very busy . It does not create noise ,but does not allow any walking either

Rooms are nice, cost effective vs staying in Basingstoke which rather expensive for the "chain" hotels. Easy to use internet.

Breakfast was a bit of disaster...onc chap to take orders and he kept forgetting who ordered what....a tad disappointing. Not alot of choice.

It was cosy but smart. The manager was under pressure the night we arrived but still responded to our needs. The staff were young but helpful and cheerful.

We had a problem with the heating in our room and a plumbing problem so the manager offered another room and also reduced our bill!

Convenient location

The hotel had a very relaxed and friendly feel. Our room was a good size and the bathroom also was fairly large. Lovely and quiet at night. The staff were all excellent. The food we had was also good, ie lunch on day of arrival and breakfast the following morning.

The only downside, from our point of view, was the fact that it is a little remote and there isn't anything within walking distance. This didn't spoil our stay because we were meeting up with friends who live locally, but normally we would like to be able to walk to other pubs, restaurants or a village.

A hotel with character, the Wellington Arms provided a warm welcome. The rooms were comfortable, the food was great and the service was excellent.

The bar prices were very high.

Good access. Friendly, helpful staff. Great menu & relaxing surroundings. had lovely room, but could have done with some updating.

Staff were excellent - a number of our friends have mobility problems, and were given all the help they needed . Breakfast menu is good, and food was freshly cooked / well presented/ tasty.

Very friendly staff about 10 minutes drive off M4 from Reading, food is a bit like gastro pub.

Thought it could do with a small seperate bar with TV as olympics were on at the time

Room was large and comfortable and the staff very friendly providing a good welcome. We particularly enjoyed the food. The restaurant itself was a good room which worked as a restaurant with a good atomosphere which is lacking in most hotel restaurants.

We used the Hotel as a base for the night before my sons wedding at a local venue. Have to say your costumer service was better than there's. So impressed by the food we recommended it to some friends who had lunch with you before the evening reception. Lovely place, shame it's not nearer home so we use the Resturant again.
