The bed was poor.
Staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful
Comfortable bed. Abundance of hot water and good water pressure.
The hotel had a friendly atmosphere and a stunning location with views out to sea. It was a short walk to town or seafront. Breakfast the first morning was superb quality and the staff were friendly and welcoming with coffee or tea served to the table
The restaurant was closed the whole time we were there including New Years Eve and we only found out as we called them. We were not told it would be closed the whole of our visit. Breakfast on other 2 days was not as good and we had to get our own coffee
The location and the friendly staff
We went for New Year & learnt after booking that the restaurant was closed. The room was freezing with huge gaps round the doors to the terrace. It improved when the heating was turned on. The WC leaked, there were no towels, a bedside light was broken and there was mud on the floor. It was obvious the room had not been prepared. The charming receptionist, the only person on duty, did her best to put things right. Breakfast was dried up and tepid, and several dishes had run out although many guests were just arriving for breakfast. This could have been a great stay - but it wasn't.
The view and sounds of the sea were amazing.
Minimal breakfast choice, running out of fruit and yoghurt. Exterior of hotel badly needs renovation. Our bedroom was "tired" and in need of redecoration. Restaurant only open for one night out of our three. Certainly NOT "Posh and Chic" as advertised. Too expensive for the quality provided.
View from room
Location was good, lovely view of sea from room. friendly staff.
Restuarant and bar closed the entire time, had to go out to eat in the evening when if was freezing cold. this was advertised as being open for lunch and dinner when we booked. Breakfast was cold or Luke warm, no white bread one morning, the next they had ran out of marmalade. Room not very clean hairs all over carpet, cob webs on window, ceiling black with damp in bathroom, in bedroom area lump on ceiling looked like there had been a water leak. Very dusty room.
Sleeping with the curtains open and hearing the waves gently crashing over the beach. Decor recently updated and parking right outside hotel - although limited number of spaces!
No option for veggie breakfast other then no meat and then extra tomatoes etc were not offered. Would be nice to have comfortable lounge area with bar in evening although in summer sitting on the existing terrace overlooking the sea and sunset would be lovely.
-- fantastic room -- brilliant view of the sea -- amazing to fall asleep with the sound of the waves far below. High standard of comfort for the price -- brilliant staff -- good food.
room view and cleaniness
staff behaviour and hotel is overly priced
TOO MUCH MONEY.DAMP PATCHES IN BATHROOM.UHT MILK.NO HOT CHOCOLATE/BISCUITS.
The sea view from the hotel and the breakfast.
The beautiful views, seascape, proximity to the seafront & town. The character of the hotel & the comfortable, well furnished bedrooms. Friendly, professional staff. Good breakfasts!
balcony rooms had super views of whole bay and could even hear the waves on the beach. nice breakfast right size not too large, staff very nice and attentive. not too far to the beach .
our room did have a balcony that was worth paying extra money for but was smaller than i had imagined. The mattress needs updating as do the pillows. We could'nt get connected to the internet.
The wonderful sea view and location
I think we paid for this location
location of hotel. sea view from balcony.
Beautiful view from the hotel, nice ample breakfast.
Perhaps a tad expensive (£120 p n) for this hotel, decor needs to be updated, our room had a very leaky radiator, floor soaked - staff must have know about this prior but still put us in there ( towel wrapped around the pipe wouldn't fix it would it) ;o(
the room and the lovely view
the bed was to hard for me
The hotel is in a good location and the rooms with a sea view were excellent. The hotel was clean and comfortable with lovely beds.
The hotel was looking a little dated. The WiFi was unreliable and slow. Parking availability is a lottery !!
The location was fantastic. Wonderful views of the sea from the bedroom window. The food was fantastic - delicious breakfast with everything you could wish for and the dinner was superb. Our son is a fussy eater and the chef cooked him something special. We will definitely return there again when we are next on the Isle of Wight.
Hotel was quiet. Lovely helpful staff. Very clean room with good up to date features. Right next to the beach. Very pretty and tranquill
Poor phone reception and wifi mainly due to location of hotel near seafront
The view The balcony The comfortable bed
Noise from the bar below the room in the evening and at breakfast time
Cleanliness, welcoming staff, good food, great location. Room with blacony was very good.
Very minor points but toilet paper was so thin you had to use multiple shhets so it was false economy as wew the napkins at breakfast. If these were the worst points in a hotel then it must be worth a visit.
The view Friendliness and helpfulness of staff The staff were excellent and saved the day but they were let down by lack of maintenance of the place. The owner is lucky to have them.
The owner needs to close for about 6 weeks and completely refurbish then get advice as to room layout and ambience of hotel, restaurant and bar. Also acquire some land down from the hotel to make much needed parking. I thought it expensive for what we got..
