the place was incredible, the staff was professional and helpful, great breakfast with beautiful view,
Wonderful room and balcony with superb views. All the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfasts and dinners very good.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfasts! Great sea view Peaceful location
Limited parking with difficult access
great view great location powerful showers breakfast okay
noisy plumbing. noise from the rooms above and adjoining made it seam like you are sleeping in a dormitory. beds are very hard,
Breakfast excellent. Decent comfortable bar area Good location for walking. We will be returning for another visit.
The restaurant was excellent and the views were fantastic. The rooms are spacious and the staff were very child friendly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wellington. The view from our room was superb, probably the best we have ever had in any country. The staff were always attentive and very helpful. The breakfast was as substantial as you wanted it to be. Super holiday
The view from the balcony was great. Location is excellent.
Lack of parking was a pain but the hotel location compensates for that.
Great location, private balcony had amazing views of the sea and coast line, wonderful patio for breakfast.
Wi fi connection couldn't handle too many users; no lift so if you are disabled you can't really come here.
Excellent location with great sea views
Whilst this comment isn't a criticism and it did not spoil our stay the bed in the delux room we stayed in, would benefit renewing.
The room was spacious, fantastic view and large balcony. The restaurant was lovely and the food was delicious.
Location- is 5 minutes to the beach and local pubs and restaurants. Beautiful view and standard breakfast.
Picture witch you see when you book for "super deluxe" room is very very misleading. we didn't get even half of the balcony. Its like 1 x 2.5 meters long. Its not what me was expecting from the picture. Plus is no privacy from balcony next door, just little fence separating you and your neighbors. For this "super deluxe" room we paid £118 for one night stay. It was huge stain inside on the carpet next to the door, dusts in the wardrobe. I couldn't connect to the Wi-fi after we got back from a dinner because it was too many users connected and my Gf couldn't connect to the Wi-fi at all during all our stay. Its very limited parking space. I wouldn't pay again £118 for one night stay in this room!
Amazing panoramic seaviews from our balcony. Rooms clean and well equipped. Location was excellent.
No privacy on balcony as separated by clear railings either side with other guests. Wifi connection very hit and miss and sometimes totally in available. Parking very limited although did find free parking about 5 min walk away.
extractor fan noise from somewhere within the building at night
The views from the deck, where you can eat breakfast and dinner, are outstanding. Dinner was very good, and breakfast, for a buffet, was OK but nothing special. Pleasant, comfortable bar area with a friendly bar an and staff.
We booked late so had a room at the top of the hotel, with sea view but no balcony. The window only opened a little way so the room was very hot ( for once we are having a summer), making it hard to sleep. We are fit, so could cope with the stairs( inside and leading up from the beach), but I wouldn't suggest Ventnor for a holiday if you can't manage hills, stunning though it is.
The room was a good size with nice balcony and sea views. It was clean & comfortable. Food in the hotel was good - breakfast and dinner. Staff all very friendly & helpful.
Furnishings a little worn in places (parts of our carpet were threadbare!). Could do with refurbishing. There's no lift which was fine for us but some of the older guests struggled.
Some rooms have balconies with amazing views. Make sure to get one of those. BUT although we had booked such a room via booking.com we were put in an inferior one. It seemed this was no mistake, but what they do all the time. Maybe booking via the phone helps.
We did not get the room we had booked but an inferior one. It seemed this was no mistake, but what they do all the time. Maybe booking via the phone helps. Staff did not seem to care.
Spacious room and en suite with stunning sea view; restaurant the best of the places we tried in Ventnor; lovely decking area for drinks, dinner, breakfast with beautiful views; warm and friendly staff; full English breakfast good quality.
Continental breakfast could be better for those who don't want full English; parking at the hotel was pot luck; some parts of the hotel need some TLC. (But they have obviously prioritised the most important things!)
loved the location. looking out from your own balcony with a sea view was idyllic.
being a non-smoker it was difficult to use the balcony the first evening and in the morning as our neighbours were heavy smokers. would be worth perhaps having designated non- smoking balcony's if possible.
There were a lot of stairs Car parking
The location and view were fabulous.
The hotel is in need of some tlc as stated in other reviews, however the hotel was having new carpets fitted while we were there so maybe it will get a lick of paint as well
The view from the room
Parking - very difficult.
Staff really friendly, great location.
The staff were very friendly, the breakfast good with plenty of fresh fruit and as there was no plain yogurt on our first morning the waitress gave me a choice of two the following morning. That's what I call service! We ate at the restaurant on our last night and we wished we had tried it earlier. It was excellent. We would recommend both hotel & restaurant.
The carpet in all the corridors and stairways. Who would choose a light coloured carpet in these public areas? It is filthy, stained and is in urgent need of replacement to stop it putting visitors off.
