Stayed in 12 bed dorm and the beds were much more comfortable than expected. The bar area was nice, as was the food on offer. 20% off food and drink made it fantastic value. Plug sockets in room did not work, which I was told was intentional

The location was very good as you could walk to all tourist attractions. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and very helpful as well! Althoughy we were on the top floor and had to climb a lot of stairs, it did not bother us because of the time we were there in the room and the little amount of luggage that we had. Our room was lovely and had all tr facilities that were listed on the website etc. However out shower was a bit temprimental and I did not have a hot shower. My boyfriend did because the shower would have been running long enough by the time he got in it. Not ideal of you was in a rush. I thought the cooked breakfast was lovely and we really did take advantage of the 20% discount at the bar. The atmosphere was lovely for the whole of our trip and alot of locals drank there which shows how good the bar was. I would stay there again. The shower was a bit temprimental. You had to run it for a long time in order to have a decently hot shower. This was a Pain of you were in a rush to head out.

Smart contemporary good location. Nice bedroom/shower room. Friendly staff and manager. First time I've booked a hotel then had to check in at the very noisy Bar which doubled as Reception, came as an initial shock! More of a smart pub with good quality letting rooms, I thought, than a hotel in the traditional sense. Live Music from bar in the evening echoed up the open atrium until very late and was a noise disturbance in our room and judging from signs in the hotel had been a problem in the past disturbing neighbours. Offered a "full scottish breakfast" but in reality extremely limited selection was very poor no porridge(!) , no choice of egg, no smoked fish and at £100 for the room per night was the worst breakfast of our tour of Scotland where smaller B & B's provided a much better selection. Also some of the rooms seemed to be bunkhouse style with shared showers/wc - didnt see this on the website but with lots of male supporters sharing is bound to get a bit rowdy???? As I say not your normal traditional hotel but maybe this is how it is in Edinburgh. Pitlochry was much quieter! However to be fair it was the Scotland v France Rugby weekend with lots of French supporters staying, the live bands are only occasional (weekly on fridays ?)and it was probably an exceptional weekend - I just wish I'ld known this when I booked. Manager was sympathetic.

I got a really nice room just for me and my friend for a good price. The room was kept clean at all times and we even got a coffee maker in the room which was definitely a plus. The breakfast they offered was actually quite nice too and included in the price. Close to the train station and a 20 minute walk from the Royal Mile, a little far, but close enough. I would certainly stay at this hotel again. There were no lifts. We stayed at the last floor and nobody helped us carry our bags, which were very heavy. It wouldn't be a problem if there was a lift.

The staff couldnt do enough to help they were fantastic. The bar is very reasonable too and you get 20% off the prices! The value for money was the main pull for us here but the location was good (about 10 mins walk to Princes street) and comfortable accommodation.

The location was perfect for the beautiful city. The staff was buff-term caring and helpful. Breakfast was simple but good enough considering the affordable price. I can really recommend this hotel to people visiting Edinburgh.

Staff helpful and friendly - we had a problem with water pressure in our shower and this was dealt with straight away. Australian girl, called Dee, especially friendly and efficient. Relaxed atmosphere. Good location for Book festival, modern art art gallery and water of Leith walk (all of which we sampled). Room very small and lacking in storage - nowhere to put shower products or hang towels. Seemed a bit pricey for its size - festival rates I assume. Room could have done with a bit more 'deep cleaning' E.G. skirting boards dusty as were drawers inside wardrobe and behind bed. More healthy options for breakfast would have been good E.G. muesli, yoghurt, fruit but maybe I am in minority!

Close to Prince Street. You don't spend even 10 minutes walking. There is no elevators. 4 or 5th floors with long staird steps. Also there is no reception of the hotel. Check in, out and anything else you have to treat at the "bar" of the hotel.

This is a very elegant hotel with good designs. The hotel is close to Princess Avenue and easy to go anywhere in Edingburg. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. This is a very nice experience staying in West End hotel. The facilities in this hotel are good. There are self-catering kitchen and washing machines. Easy for a group to stay.

I liked the modern decor of the hotel as it made it look and feel very upmarket. The staff were very inviting and the atmosphere was very nice. Food was lovely and great value for money and the drink prices where amazing. really enjoyed the 20% discount on food and drink for being a hotel guest. My whole experience at the hotel was positive and the only thing that I would say was negative was that we were at the top landing and there where about 8 flights of stairs, however they did say that on the website to make you fully aware, just exhausting when you had been walking all over edinburgh then you had to climb stairs to access your room. Only thing I would change is request a room on a lower level. Apart from that i would highly recommend the place and will use again.

And we were on the top floor, but it wouldn't put me off staying there again and one of the girls asked if we needed help with our luggage
