The bar, the food and the Staff were all wonderful and having the breakfast included was excellent.
Unfortunately the soundproofing of the rooms leaves a lot to be desired. We had to listen to the occupants in the next room snoring from 11.30pm to 7 am! Dreadful...
Really helpful and friendly staff, excellent food. Clean, comfortable bed. Warm, great location.Good parking. Everything you could want for a pleasurable stay.
Staff were kind and courteous the food was good maybe it's time to spend a little on the bedrooms.
Paper thin walls between us and next room could hear tv and private conversations , the plumbing in our bathroom was just as noisy.
All of it
Friendliness of staff/ Good room/large bathroom & very comfy bed/ good food.Garden looked lovely but as November didn't get outside. V large car park.Ideal location for seeing the Peak district.
Room was very warm due to due pipes. Road was very busy but didn't worry us. Could have table lamp as quite dark due to energy bulbs.
Rooms were comfortable and clean, food was excellent, staff were extrememly helpful and friendly. Although our room was situated next to a busy main road, traffic noise was on the whole well controlled with little heard other than the vibrations from heavy vehicles passing by. Very good value for money and would definately stay again.
The rooms are looking a little tired and shabby and although cleanliness wasn't an issue, they are definately in need of redecorating as the paint was peeling and they were generally showing signs of age/wear. My in laws were in the next room to us and said the window frames were black with mold. Also, the plumbing makes some really really strange noises and if anybody had showered/flushed in the night it would've woken everyone in the building.
lovely stay for one night ,
everything was good , had a good price online wouldn't have been so happy with price of £125 .
Very comfortable and friendly staff
Whilst the staff and service was generally quite good we suffered an inordinately long wait for our breakfast, some 35 minutes from placing our order, when it was not busy in the breakfast room.
I had parents staying in the caravan site near by so it was an excellent location for us.
Friendly staff, Good drink and food selection, Location for visiting Chatsworth
Room was very warm and traffic noise may be an issue in the summer.
Very comfortable bed and room environment. Staff were extremely friendly Breakfast included Good value for money
character of hotel, fantastic food- value for money, very pleasant staff.
small bottle of prosecco on menu, told not yet in, very disappointed.(why advertise)
Staff very good, polite and helpfull. Room and bathroom clean and well presented, tea and coffee in room. Great value for money, good pub food. Location 10minute drive from Chatsworth House and Bakewell.
Booked this as we wanted somewhere cheap to stay following dinner at Fischers at Baslow Hall. It was a perfect choice & excellent value for money
Good place to stay while in the area
No4 Room with no way to cool it down
The accommodation, atmosphere, food and staff - all are excellent.
The menu shows pictures of each dish. A bit like the old Wimpy restaurants. This does no justice to the very good food. Change the menu look and please get rid of the photos!!
Location. Bar food. Bed comfortable.
The price; the room cost £125 when booked about 3 weeks in advance; if I'd booked the day before arrival the cost would have been £85; I should have cancelled and rebooked, but didn't in case I ended up with no room at all. Even at £85 I would still consider that the double room was small with an equally small bathroom. The bathroom wasn't particularly clean; the toilet seat was loose and when you flushed the toilet it made an almighty racket - we tried not to flush the toilet during the night so that other peoples sleep would not be affected. There was no breakfast menu; we had a cooked breakfast which was nearly cold on arrival and we got fried eggs when we'd asked for poached. Doubtful I would ever stay there again at these prices; for which I believe I could have got a room at the Cavendish Hotel which is much more upmarket.
Easy to find in a good location. Room and en suite on the small side but good value for money (£65.00 inc breakfast). Clean and comfortable bed.
The plumbing in our room and others nearby is run on macerators and every time someone flushed or used the sink it sounded like a tractor starting up. Could hear the weather forecast from the next room so no need to use our TV. Also heard their kettle boiling at 7.00 am so saved our alarm going off.
The location was very good for our visit to Chatsworth House. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful
Breakfast was very poor, it had been kept warm and was very disappointing.
Table service wasn't the best
position facilities food
loo roll very thin and cheap

Road noise but that really can't be helped
