busy road to front
Location perfect. Parking excellent
The apathy of staff largely to over work. The exhaust fan for the kitchen was right beside our window and roaring late. Check in was not welcoming, and tardy.
For the money you pay, this is an excellent stay! Staff is friendly and rooms are simple but sufficient!
If you have a room at the front part, the London Road is very noisy.
felt very sorry for one girl doing all booking in getting breakfast waiting far too much cheap skates shower did not work in room had bath bar man miserable did not want to serve dead on eleven
Shower head was filthy. Huge extractor fan outside bedroom window which was extremely noisy and stank. Staff were aloof. I was ignored at the bar and at breakfast was given the minimal service possible. Very disappointing. I will be writing to Goodnight Inns with photos of dirty shower.
Friendly staff, readily available food, child friendly.
Bedrooms dilapidated. worn out carpets, bathroom fittings broken, windows dirty. Desperate need of a full refit.
Booked the day before we stayed. Warm welcome from the staff. Room comfortable and spacious. Evening meal excellent value for money, wide variety to accommodate every taste. Free car parking a bonus in this area.
Small television in the room.
Rooms were large and comfortable and clean, if slightly dated. There are quite a few restaurants and pubs near by, so easy to get good food without driving too far. Breakfast was not too bad.
The evening meal was NOT good. The menu suggested that it would be something quite special, but my fish and potatoes came out having been cremated and exploded in the microwave...
virginia lake was at the back of the hotel and a lovley walk around .
we liked all of it great location and a g oodnights sleep breakfast was very good and hotel was very clean and run by a good team many thanks to all.
The atmosphere in the restaurant/ bar. Very homely and relaxed. Felt welcomed by staff.
The whole place was far too hot/ stuffy. Made sleeping very difficult. Walls very thin so we heard lots of creaks bangs and snorning next door.
location staff food
can be noisy if its a busy night but does quieten down later
Simple, basic but great for a one night stay
Not enough staff but those on duty were very helpful. Decoration was a bit tired.
Great pub with great food and wonderful surroundings.
Some bar staff
Good price and a reasonable restaurant on site. Journey to the airport leaving at 7.30am not as traffic delayed as I expected.
The location, the staff, and the ambiance inside the Wheatsheaf were wonderful.
The only thing I didn't like was that it was so difficult to get there by bus. The 500 bus runs only once every 2 hours, and not at all on Sunday. Really frustrating!
excellent staff,location and food.
2 nights, 2 wrongly timed wake up calls. noise from a/c units outside bedroom window.
Peace and quiet, clean bath, with some spacious double rooms.
Single room is cramped and too small a single bed, had to change single room for a double room
Food was excellent and proved great value in the evening. Good selection of beers etc. Staff very obliging.
The mattress was not of a goid quality giving a rather uncomfortable sleep. The breakfast whilst had everything one could want was clearly pre prepared and served up cold except for the hash browns. This was a major disappointment in what otherwise would have been an excellent anniversary stopover.
Good evening food, facilities in the room.
Noisy family next door, I'm a mother of a toddler myself and I know there is little to do to curb the noise especially if excited about Lego land or Thorpe park. But maybe place families next door to each other? And quiet adults together.
The price was reasonable and the location good. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet and peaceful.
We had dinner at the restaurant which was good in price but a real let down to be honest. The food came very late, half the meals were not what was stated on the menu but the biggest problem was the waitress. Miserable, disinterested and extremely slow. I would seriously advise people to eat elsewhere when staying here.
Restaurant food was surprisingly good. Comfy bed and friendly staff.
Superb location set on the edge of Windsor Park. Clean and friendly.
Could do with re-painting outside and some TLC
Breakfast was generous.
We booked online and chose this hotel for its proximity to the church and wedding venue. We understood checkin was available from 14.00hrs and arrived just after. Neither of our rooms were cleared or cleaned. After some discussion, we were given another already made up room where the four of us had to change for the wedding. There were soap dispensers in the bathroom and no individual soaps/shampoo etc. Carpets did not feel clean underfoot. I had to ask the bar staff to wipe the table before we had a drink at lunchtime and generally the staff seemed very overstretched.
