Malcolm,
Swansea
This inn nestles in the peaceful village of Monkton Combe, surrounded by picturesque hills and valleys. Recently refurbished accommodation houses 7 luxury bedrooms with bathrooms or showers. There are 5 doubles, one twin and one single room. The pub offers an informal area to relax with a drink or dine. Menus are changed regularly and include bar snacks, light lunches and menu selections. Local ingredients are used where possible. You can relax with a drink by the open fire or in the garden. Our 2 buildings were originally constructed by William Harold, a carpenter, who built a house and workshop around 1750. In 1871, William Harold III converted the house into a public house and in 1981, the workshops were converted into bed and breakfast accommodations. A full history is available when you come and visit. Experience this beautiful part of the country from The Wheelwrights Arms. Hotel Rooms: 7

Despite being so close to Bath, The Wheelwrights Arms is located in a small village that feels quite rural. Rooms were comfy and staff went out of their way to make us feel at home.

The beautiful location, attention to detail, helpful staff The only minor issue was the lack of Internet in the rooms however there was a good signal in the main building.

The comfort and simple luxury of the room, which had a combination of rustic and modern decor, and the extremely comfortable bed. The staff were extremely helpful, in particular one of them (can't remember his name though unfortunately!) Nothing! It was all wonderful and exactly what I needed!

The room was lovely. The windows had shutters so nights were so quiet and dark we slept really well. Breakfast was freshly cooked and staff were very friendly and helpful. Proximity to Bath a big bonus point of course! There were references to 4* and luxury accommodation but that's overstated in our opinion. It was a lovely pub with good food, beer and country air.

The location was spot on. We were attending a wedding reception at the school next door which meant it was only a few minutes walk away. The room was very comfortable, warm and had plenty of complimentary drinks options in the room. There was quite a large variety of items on offer for breakfast, our Full English was very well presented and tasted delicious. Large convenient car park by the rooms. Good walking area with excellent views, something that shouldn't be missed. Nothing. This accomodation suited our needs perfectly.

Tucked away in the countryside down a typical english lane. Great atmosphere in the pub and the food was great. Proximity to Bath and surrounding areas. Room rate I thought was a little steep given its a pub, however you cant put a price on the outdoors and fresh air.

Cute pub with a lovely menu. The breakfast was amazing and the owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. For it having "luxury" rooms, it was pretty noisy. Our bathroom also had some mold above the shower and the walls had mold growing in them in the corners. It was highly disappointing for paying 95gbp.

“Comfortable clean rooms, peaceful ambience, very customer focussed and competent staff. Breakfast was just as previous visitors have decribed, a good selection to please most people and on a par with upmarket hotels. Car parking although £10 a day for the service is worth it in Bath. Location for city centre walking is excellent.” Michael, Wynyard |
