Despite a late check-in, we had a warm welcome and also been offered something to eat. Beautiful bedroom in a grade 2 listed building.
The location is beautiful, the room was perfect, the food and service is fantastic, and excellent facilities!
Food, which was great. Room was very nice.
Would have been nice to have somewhere comfortable to sit in the pub, as there was nowhere in my room. Coffee is not good, which is bad when you are 3 miles out of town.
A lovely quirky room with great facilities- a TV that was easy to use, comfy bed, huge bathroom, lots of hot water and cake to help yourself too! And what a super tasting menu !!!!
We were very happy we chose The Wheelwrights Arms. There were no nasty surprises and the buildings were exactly as the photographs depict. The menu is marginally more expensive than you might find in similar places but fully justified when you try the exquisite food. The proprietor's clearly take huge pride in their business which is rare these days. We will return.
Lovely location, good staff, nice pub.
wifi did not work in room, also room unbearably hot requiring a lot of fiddling with rad controls and opening and closing windows.
Polite friendly staff. Comfort in a great location
Convenient for visiting my daughter at the uni. Nice room and friendly, efficient staff
Great location, nice sized room, and the bar was very cozy. Breakfast was good too.
The bathroom doesn't really have a shower...just a tub.
Food Fireplace Small+ cosy very accommodating late check-out lovely building free parking large bathroom very warm
if i was being really, really fussy I'd of liked the pub to be more full of drinkers rather then more of a restaurant, but it was a quite time of year
Atmosphere was fantastic! Staff very helpful and friendly ! Bed really comfortable .
Only a few miles from the centre of Bath, but a fraction of the cost of the centrally located hotels. Kind and friendly staff. Pretty little village. Great walks into the surrounding countryside and villages.
Lovely room, excellent breakfast. Nice and quiet too. Excellent tea/coffee making facilities in bedrooms and very nice to have chocolate cake freely available! We would definitely stay here again.
WiFi worked v well in one of our two bedrooms but not at all in the other. Worked perfectly in the main hotel building though so that was fine overall.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, good quality accomodation
The booking.com website listed the location as Church Street, Bath. It is in fact 4 miles from Bath in Monkton Combe!
I liked everything
Outstanding view over valley Comfy bed lovely bathroom breakfast lovely would go back
Old fashioned bath with mixer taps shower head on bath no actual shower but wasn't a big deal still a lovely place to stay
Pub atmosphere Great staff Good rooms with added touches Beautiful rural location
Ground floor room could be noisy with people walking in room above (only minor)
At first I was not very happy about the location but I changed my mind it was perfect... a bit outside Bath but close enough for it to feel like you were there.
Great food. Super room.
Great food and dining setting. Beautiful surroundings. Convenient bus in front of the Inn.
They advertised full wi-fi and did not have any service in my room. This was extremely inconvenient and they did not offer to change the room for me. Room was very small and twin bed was not comfortable.
The toilet was very dirty when we check in. the room that we stay's just off the car park. Floor board very noisy. we would not recommend anybody to stay there.
Everything was extremely comfortable, clean. Couldn't fault accommodation or location.
We booked for our anniversary and after looking at reviews travelled down especially from London. Was looking forward to having a nice meal and drink or two on site. However restaurant was closed due to quiz night and we were tucked away around the corner between two openings which was drafty. We were offed 'curry' due to quiz night and restaurant being closed but my husband hates curry and the smell makes him feel ill. We were so disappointed. This was not listed on web site. Some dates were given for quiz nights but our stay was not one of them. We would not have booked if we had known curry was the only thing on offer. The staff did allow us to order from lunch menu if we ate before 7pm. We had to eat something so accepted. Wasn't the romantic get away we hoped for, being stuck around the corner and no evening menu avaialble, plus smell of curry. Not the pub's fault they did the best they could for us, but still disappointed. Suggest web site kept up to date or visitors alerted that restaurant closed on booking.
Room was a bit small but for one person adequate. Comfy bed, clean and tidy, excellent food and very friendly staff and helpful
The location The staff The bathroom
Miosture in walls Crunchy the floor. A bit cold in the morning
Lovely location, a few miles outside Bath and good welcome. Nice size room and bathroom. The food was terrific. Try the baked camembert with homemade bread :).
A bit tricky to find and our room didn't have full length shower - although there was shower head on mixer tap of bath.
