We arrived here very late. But the staff where about and very accomadating.
warm cosy and friendly staff followed by a fantastic breakfast.
lack of parking due to rail travellers cars
situation of room in relation to facilities was very good
nothing it was ideal
Room dirty on arrival, had to buy disinfectant and clean it. Not cleaned every day. Very cold, no heating on. Access to wi fi intermittent. Bed had springs sticking through, linen looked grubby. Mostly used by contractors, very noisy. Food appalling.
Room cold & radiator didn't work
Friendly staff Food excellent & good quality & price
We had to leave before breakfast.
We liked the Bar and restaurant serving real ales, the rooms are made from a row of cottages and are tastefully decorated, The railway station is directly opposite , we stayed there before our flight as it is very convenient for Humberside airport, We shall definitely use this hotel again
Was passed on to a separate guest house 1/2 mile away. 'excellent' review above refers to that guest house. I expect to stay at the unit I book through you and would not book the Whistle and Flute again.
Food at Whistle and Flute excellent
I've stayed here now 6/7 times and always had a good experience until my lSt stay last week when there was an older lady working the breakfast shift who was extremely rude towards me when I asked her how to work the shower I wax told by her that can I not see she is cooking breakfast there is nothing she can do about it then when I went to pay my bill she continued to scream and shout at me saying she was cooking guest breakfast and I wasn't the only guest there blah blah blah !! Then I called the manager to discusse this matter and he wAs just as rude and said he was sticking behind his staff ! May having staff that are 71 years old are not the way forward as she clarely can't cope with cooking a few breakfast and deal with other PAYING guest !
The place had over booked, we booked a on suite but when we got there they only had one room left, with bathroom across the hall, would not gave gone there if we had known, the restaurant was booked up so couldn't get a meal, went to local chippy and that was the best thing about our stay .
(Slightly) small bed; Lack of wardrobe (wall-hooks only); Staff ignoring 'Do Not Disturb' sign; Not the best sound insulation.
Good Service; Location; Friendliness; Good Value; Clean.
The coffee kettle was filthy with hard water deposits and young staff member said she didn`t have another and didn`t know how to clean it !!!! Another staff member cleaned it a bit, No instructions on how to tune TV and sky system. Next to train station so a bit of noise from trains.
Great meal, the steak pie was excellent,
Room was cheap, we got a free upgrade on the day and the food was excellent. Would recommend this to anyone staying locally and would also stay there again.
Shower and wash facilities were excellent. Tv was modern and bedding was immaculate.
Really nice pub with great Madonna tribute on at night. Food brilliant & drinks good price. Really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to going back.
first class accommodation excellent food & drinks, spacious room very comfortable, would visit again sky tv was great also
Booked a double - got a twin as had already booked out the only double! Did receive a bottle of wine as a good will gesture.
food cheap beer
Location and facilities were great
Evening restaurant service not great but they were busy. plumbing a bit noisy.
Generally excellent, afterall this was a one night stay only. Food excellent although too much provided. Happy to recmmend it.
My coffee cup was filthy and the floor could have done with a Hoover
Come off the train and you are there the food was good and the staff where friendly
The final night of my 5 night stay(a Friday) was noisy until late on.
Location to station. As a rail enthusiast, the location is ideal. A friendly easy going but efficient approach by the staff. Breakfasts are excellent as are the restaurant meals which represent excellent value for money. Ensure that you book for evening meals to avoid disappointment!
Room carpet looking tired, have couple of stains. Wifi all over but kept dropping out so caused work problems.
Friendly staff and visited the restaurant in evening and this I couldn't fault. Room was comfortable as was really office for work in evening and bed for few hours before out again next day. Discovered served breakfast on last day and this was excellent, set me up for rest of day.
Having to get a room update as original one was smelly and dismal. Window had condensation on it. Moved to an upgrade which was bigger but still dismal decor and valance on one bed dirty! Carpets badly stained. Pub owner didn't inform us of breakfast details nor was there any info in leaflet in the room. He was more interested in a guest speaker coming to the pub than his guest!s
Beer barrels clanked at 07:00
