The wide, tree-lined market place in Brackley, with its Georgian and Victorian houses and shops, is the delightful setting for this 13th century coaching inn.

Located in the historical market town of Winslow, this traditional building has stood proudly in the market square since Tudor times.
Score from 144 reviews Very good
Excellent location, very helpful staff Free parking Nice looking old building with character
Steep stairs to get to the room. Noisy doors. Water puddles on bathroom floor
cleaness value for money fairly big rooms kattle for tea/coffee in the room breakfast in buckingham center
no/very poor wifi in the room kind of old, need bit of restructuring bit noisy hotel on top of the pub
For what I need for a trip to Buckingham the hotel is somewhere I will use again. Because I was working in the local area the hotel was good to come back to every night.
The parking was sometimes difficult
It was located conveniently in the centre of Buckingham. Voucher provided for free parking.
Heavy damp marks in corner of bedroom ceiling. Curtains off rail and not able to draw. Leak behind toilet. Light above basin not working. Toilet seat slipped from left to right. Lunchtime menu ingredients unavailable. Cheese sandwich was two slices of unbuttered bread with grated cheese. Ordered drinks had to be chased as did cutlery.
Cold room, poor breakfast
Friendly helpful staff; quiet despite bar downstairs; had a good shower
I couldn't get free wi-fi working; no room service and no hair dryer
Room with no aspect; damp coming through ceiling
Position in centre of town, close to shops and easy to find. Convenient for Bletchley Park and Biscester Shopping Villgage. Stff very good and willing to help.
Car park is under construction and small. Common areas and bar / restaurant need updating. Floors in bedrooms on the slant or felt like giving way.
Food, range of beers and ciders, very helpful and friendly staff
The property is tired and needs some investment. 2 leaking ceilings, one in the bar and one on the stairwell didn't help the properties appeal.
Location for us was great with a free car park in the centre of town
Like so many hotels, there are a few things that let the place down: blown light bulbs, broken toilet seat, curtains hanging off the tracks. Why don't they get the cleaners to produce a 'snag sheet' and have an odd-job person go round and fis these things?
Food, Staff, Service all excellent
Room not too clean. Whole place could do with sprucing up
Really excellent vegetarian breakfast!
I was scared to sleep because of the ghost stories!
Man who looked after breakfast was excellent; the bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom very clean; bath as well as shower; very reasonable rate and good breakfast (though extra)
Clean room with usual facilities (coffee, TV, etc). Good breakfast. Evening meals available. Centrally located. Pleasant Staff.
Lack of Parking. Some parts of hotel looking tired and threadbare.
very enjoyable stay due in the main to the staff and management.
Waiting 20 minutes for two boiled eggs for breakfast. Décor of the bedroom, needs repainting, No bed side lamps, Horrible smell in the room, couldn't open the window, No hairdryer had to wait for one to be fixed in the morning. No where to park my car in the evening as both car parks were full, had to park my car in town centre car park and walk back through town.
Relaxed, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location for Silverstone Circuit. Comfortable old, rambling building. Very good breakfast, freshly cooked to our requirements.
Limited evening food choice in restaurant but what was available was good. Steep stairs to top floor (take climbing ropes!).
Breakfast was ok.
advertised with free parking only to find a building site at the back which was pay and display and full. Finally managed to moan enough to get a ticket to leave in my car overnight. The room looked like something out of a crap American motel from the 60's
The fire alarms going off twice during the night whilst sound asleep, just because they had a faulty sensor, which according to another guest, this as happened before. So to me they can,t justify there name as Goodnight Inns.
The staff were very friendly and breakjfadt was nice and fresh
The TV kept losing aerial signal, there wasn't WiFi and the single beds were very narrow with rubbish pillows
Friendly staff and lovely breakfast
all a bit tired and tacky - we were in room 12 which was comfortable but pretty awful outside the window -- lots of pigeons -- and dirty area of droppings etc -- reluctant to open window !!
the one or two staff we did meet were pleasant and helpful. Car parking was fine, although exit from it was somewhat difficult due to the limited visibility. We asked for a quiet room away from traffic noise and this arranged prior to our arrival. In contrast to the public area the room was clean; the bed was comfortable but the décor was crying out for refurbishment, or repainting at the very least.
On entering the hotel from the car park, the whole impression was of a run down establishment, gaming machines and a pool table were the first things we saw. The carpets in the public area looked dirty. The whole impression on the ground floor was of a pub rather than a hotel. The photograph on the website gave a different impression to the reality- a shame because Buckingham town centre is a very attractive place and the hotel should reflect that.
OK for 1 night stay. Bed was not very comfortable. Staff busy.
Good Locations, Affordable, Nice Food
Poor Room condition, Lots of Damp & funny Smell.
