The executive room is lovely, the décor is very nice, all clean, bathroom spotless.
I booked a standard room and it was horrid. old, not classy, just very unpleasant, plus the heating did not work.
nice place to stay, nice and handy to see the sights. nice pub the thefat badger with the hotel ,we have stayed here twice very nice ps has a gym to if you are in to keep fit
Location The pub attached to hotel
Nothing, paid very reasonable price for budget room.value for money.
We got breakfast when we Wernt even expecting it and the staff were lovely and helpful
The actually hotel was beautiful and so was the location
We had a standard room which was on the top floor which felt unloved, could see damp patches, paint needed redoing, and our view was over the back of the hotel which was all the pipes and mess and could smell the kitchen
On arrival the receptionist was a bit distracted & not overly friendly NO mention of parking charges on booking or confirmation & no choice but to pay! Noise of drums & disco for obviously booked party below our room - would have liked warning
The location was excellent and the New Years Eve party very good. The staff were very helpful and it was good that there was a hairdresser within the hotel, as the morning of the wedding I was able to have a good breakfast before having my hair done for the wedding. The decor was most attractive throughout!
The bed in the room the 2nd two nights, had a broken spring which made it rather uncomfortable! The wardrobe in the same room did not have a length hanging space, which was not helpful with my dress outfit.
The hotel is very classy and chic and our room was comfy, cosy and very clean with everything we could have needed - wonderful view across Montpellier towards Betty's. The added bonus to this hotel is that it has the Fat Badger bar where you can get a lovely meal and drink if you didn't want to use the restaurant or go out into town to eat. Wonderful atmosphere all amenities. We found the staff to be very polite and extremely helpful especially Jeremy - top marks to him!!
Just a slight problem with the shower on the last morning of our stay. Insufficient hot water for the second shower, maybe because we were on the top floor? something that may need sorting out but I'm sure it will get sorted as nothing is too much trouble here.
We loved the location of this hotel because it was so central. The staff were smiling and helpful and we would certainly stay there again. However, knowledge, as they say is power and we would be asking for a larger twin in a refurbished room. The Fat Badger bar was great, really buzzing and our 25% off your first drinks was great.
The single glazed cracked window in the bathroom made visits to the loo very speedy. It was freezing. We had to use an upside down waste bin as a place to boil our kettle as the plug-wire didn't reach far enough. Fortunately we didn't need to use the wardrobe. One of the doors would have pulled the TV from the wall if opened. We didn't like the cleaners(?) noisily gathering their equipment whilst we were trying to have a lie-in on Saturday morning. The curtain didn't fully cover the window so the light came in. As we were only visiting for a bargain one night we just put up with things as they were. However if/when we stay again we will be requiring a better room
Newly refurbished room. Bar adjoining to hotel. Location. Car parking. Hotel decor.
Room heating took some working out. Booked double but bed was two singles together.
Good value hotel with adequate rooms.Great location and lovely breakfast. Right next to the fat badger pub.
Car par could have done with gritting. Upper level was the only available parking area when we arrived. It was like an ice rink
Stunning hotel very clean Lovely food I would highly recommend
Having to pay for parking
Room was ok decor ok
Bathroom freezing heater didn't work, toilet didn't flush properly, the taps turn on the wrong way so you end up turning too quick and you get splashed all Down front of trousers. Mould on blind
the location is great , 2 minute walk into town , opposite a leafy park , car parking , good pub attatched
The massive choice of gluten glared options made my stay so much more relaxing than ever.
The Badger Pub (adjoining) is good The location is great
Reception dark and gloomy with some strange smells (from toilets?!) Strong smell of food (espcially fish) lingers from the kitchen in corridors Staff young and not experienced or "slick" Bathroom smelt of cigarette smoke!
Lovely decor around hotel, fantastic location, looks impressive as you arrive, comfy bed, good range of tv channels, easy parking, Fat Badger pub is good for a drink, staff excellent and very helpful
Room was cold even with radiator on, bathroom freezing even with heater, however it was a snowy day in January.
Decor, room, breakfast.
Our room was at the front of the hotel and we could hear absolutely everything that was happening outside through the window as it was single glazed. I had a terrible sleep because of this.
The location was very central and the bar attached to the hotel had lots of atmosphere and served good food.
The budget room we booked was horrible. The curtains were hanging off the track and didn't cover the window properly. The double bed was a cheap wooden frame with a poor, hammock feel mattress and the size of the room was very small. We complained and were upgraded to a room with a broken bathroom fan that made it sound like somebody was vacuuming constantly. After a few hours of waiting for somebody to come and fix it, we were eventually upgraded again at 9pm to a very nice room, but unfortunately it had no double glazing and street noise woke us up very early. Also the sink in this room leaked and the lights around the mirror in the bathroom didn't work, which made the lighting for applying makeup very poor. The breakfast had a poor selection and the portions of cooked food were small. Compared to other places that we have stayed at during this holiday, this place was poor in comparison. I know that you get what you pay for, but the budget room was simply horrible.
Decor Restaurant and bar fat badger Walking distance to everything a leisure seeker wants Recommended
In the budget rooms a little more attention could have been taken to the cleaning i.e. hair in bath plug. This did not detract from the fact this is a lovely hotel.
The bed seemed to be small. Don't know why I'm sure it must have been a double.
Excellent Food Cleanliness Secure paid for parking Location Excellent value for money
No hand soap in bathroom Very poor disabled access to hotel. Unsuitable for the sole disabled traveller. Bathroom door wouldn't close.
Cheap deal, and welcoming, friendly members of staff. Ideally situated for access to Royal Theatre and restaurants and bars.
Bedroom furniture badly needs replacing ! No food available post theatre.
