Stunning hotel very clean Lovely food I would highly recommend
Having to pay for parking
Room was ok decor ok
Bathroom freezing heater didn't work, toilet didn't flush properly, the taps turn on the wrong way so you end up turning too quick and you get splashed all Down front of trousers. Mould on blind
the location is great , 2 minute walk into town , opposite a leafy park , car parking , good pub attatched
The massive choice of gluten glared options made my stay so much more relaxing than ever.
The Badger Pub (adjoining) is good The location is great
Reception dark and gloomy with some strange smells (from toilets?!) Strong smell of food (espcially fish) lingers from the kitchen in corridors Staff young and not experienced or "slick" Bathroom smelt of cigarette smoke!
Lovely decor around hotel, fantastic location, looks impressive as you arrive, comfy bed, good range of tv channels, easy parking, Fat Badger pub is good for a drink, staff excellent and very helpful
Room was cold even with radiator on, bathroom freezing even with heater, however it was a snowy day in January.
Decor, room, breakfast.
Our room was at the front of the hotel and we could hear absolutely everything that was happening outside through the window as it was single glazed. I had a terrible sleep because of this.
The location was very central and the bar attached to the hotel had lots of atmosphere and served good food.
The budget room we booked was horrible. The curtains were hanging off the track and didn't cover the window properly. The double bed was a cheap wooden frame with a poor, hammock feel mattress and the size of the room was very small. We complained and were upgraded to a room with a broken bathroom fan that made it sound like somebody was vacuuming constantly. After a few hours of waiting for somebody to come and fix it, we were eventually upgraded again at 9pm to a very nice room, but unfortunately it had no double glazing and street noise woke us up very early. Also the sink in this room leaked and the lights around the mirror in the bathroom didn't work, which made the lighting for applying makeup very poor. The breakfast had a poor selection and the portions of cooked food were small. Compared to other places that we have stayed at during this holiday, this place was poor in comparison. I know that you get what you pay for, but the budget room was simply horrible.
Decor Restaurant and bar fat badger Walking distance to everything a leisure seeker wants Recommended
In the budget rooms a little more attention could have been taken to the cleaning i.e. hair in bath plug. This did not detract from the fact this is a lovely hotel.
The bed seemed to be small. Don't know why I'm sure it must have been a double.
Excellent Food Cleanliness Secure paid for parking Location Excellent value for money
No hand soap in bathroom Very poor disabled access to hotel. Unsuitable for the sole disabled traveller. Bathroom door wouldn't close.
Cheap deal, and welcoming, friendly members of staff. Ideally situated for access to Royal Theatre and restaurants and bars.
Bedroom furniture badly needs replacing ! No food available post theatre.
The breakfast was very good
The bathroom was cold and the door didn't stay shut, when we mentioned it to the staff at reception they put a wedge to keep the door shut! The room and furniture looked tired
Nice hotel, comfy beds with a good pub at one end of the building
Gym wasn't available
Loved the Fat Badger bar Character hotel Great location Low cost
Bed very squeaky Room dark in places Stains on bedroom wall
Hotel has a nice ambiance. Breakfast excellent..lovely sausages. Friendly staff.
Room 319. My room was cold, but an extra heater was brought immediately. Don't want this room again!
Everything - including the bed which was unbelievably uncomfortable and noisy.
Room very nicely decorated and most comfortable, heating worked properly as did wifi service, shower hot and lively. Molton Brown toiletries which is nice.
breakfast was very poor. I was not offered any more tea or toast and the cooked breakfast was cool, with the poached egg COLD. If you've ever had a mouthful of a stone cold runny poached egg you won't want another one! Suspect cooked earlier and kept in water - horrid.
Room was clean and bed was comfortable (extremely bouncy, but I at least managed to sleep!)
Room was small and whilst clean, it did not have those finishing touches you expect from a 4-star hotel. Just small things like the dressing table has the TV on (which prettymuch fills it), and the mirror is on the opposite side of the room (not very practical to sit and do your make-up/hair), and absolutely no full length mirror - I could have gone out with my skirt tucked in my pants! Exposed pipes in the room made it extremely hot, and whilst the room wasn't ground floor, not having a lock on the window left me feeling uncomfortable to leave my possessions there. Also, they leave mountains of literature about the hotel and hairdresser etc etc - it's not quick to just to check the check-out time.
Location and friendly staff
Bathroom very cold and TV to small!
Staff very helpful.
Room a little dated
Very comfortable Centrally located hotel particularly for the conference centre Helpful Staff
Had to pay £6 per night for parking The budget rooms are very small and poorly decorated.
