The old world atmosphere, the breakfasts and th helpfulness of the staff
The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The four-poster bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in.
Apart from breakfast, which was fine, we didn't eat at the hotel because the menu was so uninspiring.
The pool, the breakfast, the parking!
The mattress was too soft
Historic building in the centre of town with parking available (limited). Friendly staff, good breakfast. Very atmospheric.
Tired decor and fittings but it was very clean
THe blend of old historic and new leisure centre and good food and conservatory.
WE put the notice on the door re making up the beds at 10.00am and when we returned at !.00 it was not made up. IT was done in the afternoon when we were out
Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful
Very run down and not very clean. Lack of hot water. Windows so dirty it was impossible to see out.
The bar. Breakfast.Staff.
Shabiness of accomodation
Lovely views, helpful informative reception staff. The breakfast choice available was really good . Would definately stay again. Our room in the annex was spotless and really comfortable, wish we had stayed longer.
Lovely old building. Excellent breakfast.
The room had been locked up with the heat on, and was a furnace. The room was boiling hot all night, even though the heating was not on. Had to keep the window open all night, but with the heat, noise from outside, and a rather lumpy old mattress, this was far from a comfortable night.
Location, own parking, facilities (swimming pool, spa, gym). Room was clean tidy and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and attentive
staff were lovely, building had lots of character room was nice and clean, on whole full of charm
Breakfast room looked a bit tired and buffet breakfast was not hot enough,
It was an absolute stunning time staying at the White Hart in Lewes. All the staff are really friendly and helpful, smiling. The most comfortable room. Car parking excellent. I will definitely stay there again.
The staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfasts and dinners were excellent. Dinner was well cooked and presented and much improved menu since my last visit some years ago. I did not like having a 4 poster bed but it was very comfortable!!!!!
Although the rooms in the old part of hotel are full of character, they are very dated and in need of bringing into 21st Century..... I do accpet that some guests may prefer the old fashioned aspects.
The staff we friendly and moved rooms when I asked as I was originally next to a main door and I am light sleeper. The breakfast was good.
There were no working televisions or wifi in any of the rooms in the annex section of the hotel
The location of the hotel was excellent. A great breakfast with plenty of choice. Nice staff.
The rooms in the annexe were clean but very tired. The bar service was poor.
Location is very good on Lewes high street.
Hotel is in need of refurbishment generally and has been going down hill for several years. Its central location and its health club are its saving grace. Slowly becoming souless.
When room didn't suit we were offered an alternative on the first floor. This was quiet with a good shower in a large bath easily accessed.Excellent breakfast better than many others we have experienced.Very pleasant staff.
First room offered would have been dark (in the annexe) as there was a car parked in front and level with the window, We had said that we didn't want too many stairs.
Good location, staff helpful and pleasant
Turned up to be located in the Annex which is pretty run down, smells very damp, had no hot water or heating in our room. Floors very creaky through out the Annex. Could be quite a nice place to stay just needs refurbishing. Side road leading to car park had mattersses down it did not look good when walking up to the hotel.
On site parking. Convenience for Glyndebourne Good breakfast Compensation for previous night's confusion
Confusion with allocation of bedroom. TV not working
Building of great character Charming helpful staff.
No lift Mattress too soft
Helpfulness and friendliness of staff. Price Location Large room with a great view Well equipped room Lovely roof top view
Parking wasn't much fun although I did get a space every time Water pressure very low at the top of the hotel
Breakfast quality was good. Staff were friendly.
Generally very shabby and needed a good clean. Wall lights above the bed hanging off And in dangerous condition. shower not functioning properly. Would not recommend.
The location for our stay was excellent the breakfast was good
The hotel has no lifts so ifyou have difficulty with stairs its a problem also my sister was with us on this trip and her room was outside the hotel in the annexe with her being 72 years old it wasn't ideal
position, ambience, breakfast spread and the spacious restaurant & terrace.
no beer on tap in the bar on our arrival at 9.30pm- only tinned Guinness. For older folk, the cramped shower area posed a challenge.
OLde world atmosphere-conservatory had been built on and was reallyu in keeping with the building
nothing not ot like
