Very poor evening meal.Rooms looked tired could do with updating.
location, staff, breakfast
rooms were dated, smelt and over priced.
Very oldy worldy.
Didn't like the fact you had to be out of the room by 11am, especially as it was Sunday. I thing 12 noon should be standard.
Staff friendliness. Excellent buffet breakfast and a good value and substantial evening meal. Close to station and bus into Brighton.
Room in old part of hotel with sloping floor which made bed slope and therefore not ideal for sleeping in.
Breakfast & proximity to train station
Room decor and furniture were very dated. Mattress was awful. Bathroom was tiny. Shower was like being in a caravan.
We could not get a taxi in time to make our train, so the staff helped walk out luggage to the station
The TV and coffee
The bed, The lack of Internet
easy going, efficient, clean, breakfast good, value for money, location good-clearly an ongoing restoration of old but quaint property--would go again.
obviously woul like to see after restoration-hopefully replacing like with like.
Good breakfast. Location was good for our short stay.
Incredibly hot in corridor and room. Hot water did not flow particularly well
Situation, excellent food, very good value for money
absolutely nothing. I was given a warm welcome.
nothing. food and price fairly average nothing to write home about.
location breakfast cozy big room and bathroom
noisy wooden floors and you can hear the people above next to your, virtually every move cracking the wood
WiFi is poor.
Central position in Lewes. Free parking behind the hotel
Buffet style hot breakfast was cold.
Effiency of reception. Everything one would need in the room. Very good breakfast.
The staff at this hotel are really helpful and pleasant, would stay again because of the service they gave!
All staff were highly invested in making a great stay in the hotel. They seemed very committed.
It is quite old world in every sense. Both charming and a little wearing. wifi was geriatric for example.
Perfect location Car Park (small so get there early) Free parking out the front after 6pm on a Sat and all day Sunday Sunday Carvery Large rooms Great facilities
Mattress in room 110 was OK but bit lumpy and bed sloped due to being an old building
We were in Lewes for a funeral. The cost of our stay was extremely good as we had bed, breakfast and evening meal at a rate some others wanted for just the room. If you want impersonal modern rooms with no character don't go there. Our daughter had a single room and was delighted with the old fireplace and odd beams! All very good and I have already recommended it to friends.
If I had to find a negative it be only that the door to our room had a very sticky key for my old(ish) hands!! but the staff came to help anyway.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty good quality breakfast.
The hotel was tired in appearance.
Location was perfect for the station and journey to Plumpton in the afternoon then Brighton in the evening. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, the food was good and the price was excellent value,I have recommended to others already
Excellent breakfast Convenience, well situated in centre of town
Extremely noisy function on Weekend. The room seemed to be directly above the function and the music was far too loud. It is accepted that such function is a common event particularly this time of year. However, the noise could have been toned down just a little
Amazing views, fantastic breakfasts, great location, historic building
Old bed, noisy bathroom fan, the property needs a refresh
The hotel character and friendly staff.
Location, and very friendly staff
The annexe is a fairly unappealing place to stay, very tired and in major need of refurbishment.
