I would recommend this hotel as it is in a fab location being very central but because of this could be a bit noisy in the evening (not late though). Really friendly and welcoming staff and a delicious breakfast. Whilst the public areas are very up-to-date looking e.g. bar and restaurant the rooms are a bit tired and dated but having said this comfortable all the same.
Excellent staff, particularly good were the restaurant waitress on Sat night/Sunday morning, and bar staff Sunday evening. Nice lounge, with fire. Excellent food and wine.
The smallest bathroom I've ever seen, anywhere. Seriously, a 'plus-sized' guest would not have coped. Disappointed with 'superior room'. It was perfectly adequate, with good bed and linen, but all the usual furniture, with sachets of tea/coffee and plastic tubs of long-life milk. Nothing superior about it so wondered what we paid the extra for. Reasonable size but not big. If you describe a room as superior but there's nothing special about it you are just setting your guests up to be disappointed and they won't come back.
Our rooms were of a high standard and all the hotel staff were very friendly and interested in making our stay an enjoyable one. The hotel was genuinely 'dog friendly'.
Staff, bedroom, management
Staff were excellent, very warm and welcoming. Good room. Great breakfast, comfortable lounge which served tea & coffee in the morning and a pre-dinner g&t. Excellent dinner
Lovely friendly welcoming pub. No pretension ,very comfortable indeed.
The food was excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable.
Comfort, facilities, a good walk in shower
Room was nicely furnished and well equipped. Staff were all friendly and very helpful.
Got lost finding my room after doors were locked and I was not told how to get to the room by alternative route. BreAkfast was disappointing.
Customer service from all staff was excellent. Very happy and friendly group of staff. Made us and our 2 little dogs very welcome. Food was excellent, good hearty portions with daily specials to accompany regular menu. Bedroom and hotel very clean. Planning our return trip. Location in the Moor was perfect. Very relaxed and accommodating atmosphere.
Only downside is the hotel is situated on a busy junction in the centre of the village. Parking is only available at the local public car park only 2 minutes walk away from the hotel. Car park fees very reasonable, no more than £3.20 for 24 hrs
The food was stunning and the staff exceptional. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable
I had the good fortune of staying here. I was impressed with the professionalism shown by the staff. The food was superb!!
Kindness of Staff Decoration and comfort of the room
My family and I stayed at the White Hart during the weekend in the summer holidays. We were staying with other family members and attending a wedding. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and arranged an early check in. Loved the comfortable and friendly Atmosphere, and rooms of a high standard. Will definitely return in the future.
There wasn't anything to dislike!
Lovely decor throughout the hotel and it is very well maintained. The room was spacious and comfortable with a spotlessly clean, modern bathroom. The food was very good so it is worth dining for one evening (The Horse around the corner was the other place we ate at and that was exceptionally good). We'd certainly stay again.
I don't have a lot to say on what I didn't like as there is nothing particularly negative I can think of. Possibly, breakfast could have had a wider range on offer, and pastries/yoghurts etc. weren't on offer both days we were there, but that would be being picky as it was all pretty good.
Clean and tidy room. A good selection of toiletries etc. A very good English breakfast.
No car park on site. A payment car park 50 yards from the hotel.
Fantastic place where to spend holidays Lovely restaurant
After a local charity weekend music festival we decided to book into the White Hart along with three other family members. My father was given a lovely big double room as a single occupancy. We also had a lovely airy spacious room with beautiful far reaching moorland veiws. This hotel has some brilliant attentive happy staff, great food where the chef has made an extra effort to present the food. Also there is a very well stocked bar.
Having to leave!
Kind and helpful staff. Good food locally sourced Well converted old hotel
Pay car park daytime hours.
Friendly staff, good sized room & bathroom.
Would have been good to be able to open a window as the room felt stuffy at night. I think it was possible but I was on a room facing directly onto the road so didn't attempt.
The food, the comfort, the beer,
The locals talk outside all night, fair enough , they cant smoke inside but wish they would go home when the pub shuts
Liked location and village was great. Staff were very helpful.
Didn't like the room, needed a good clean too.5
Far reaching beautiful Moorland views. A bright spacious tastefully decorated room with a good sized comfortable bed. However the highlight of our stay was our lunch, dinner and after dinner drinks at the well stocked bar. Extra effort has been put into their meals.
Not being able to stay for a second night!
Warm welcome. Comfortable Big room with very nice view. We asked for a room with view over the countryside and really got it. Excellent food and very nice wine list with several bottles from South Africa
This is an old town centre hotel that has been refurbished to a high standard. We arrived on one of the hottest days of the year and nothing was too much trouble for thstaff, sorting fans and keys to open the windows. Room a very good size and very comfortable beds. Good value too. We ate in the restaurant in the evening having Mussels and BBQ ribs. Both were excellent. Wine sensibly priced. Breakfast was good too, full English was excellent.
