Fantastic food, friendly staff, gorgeous room, comfortable bed, nice atmosphere, lovely surroundings.
What's not to like? Great stay thank you
Food - great. Staff couldn't have been better. Beer - small selection, but well kept. The car park has been relaid and is immaculate.
The rooms are quite noisy - if you have people returning to their rooms after xmas parties at 1.30am and saying noisy goodbyes in the entrance... Should be fine for 51 weeks of the year.
Character of the place The staff were friendly and helpful The decore both in the room and restaurant The welcome basket!
WiFi was poor Coffee was a bit weak Couldn't get a table in restaurant and no option for bar meal.
Location & atmosphere.
On previous visits option of cooked breakfast.
Enjoyed the serenity of the place. It was so quite. Also liked the old structure of the room with old furniture.
Expected an inclusive English breakfast and not that you have to pay extra for. Maybe I did not read carefully what I had to expect for breakfast before booking.
Evening meal was fantastic Location was stunning
The cooked breakfast was very nice, but it should come as standard for the price of the room
We loved that the pub was right next to the building where our room was. It was convenient and a sweet little town. I bet it's great in the spring. We got the rain, which is fine since we are from L.A.
This was our first stay at the White Hart and loved it. Gorgeous place, loved the ambience, excellent food and very pleasant staff. Would definitely recommend this place.
The only one slight negative comment was the muddy car park!
Music from bar - ok as long as you don't want to sleep before midnight No plug in bathroom sink Shower tray overflowing as drain blocked
The accommodation which was in the main building was excellent, very comfortable, warm, and bed was excellent.
Restaurant was delightful but sadly the service and the food were both no better than average.
Location Warm welcome Character Great foot food Accommodation Plenty of parking
All the staff were great & helpful, my room was very clean and comfortable. Food was very good and the location very pleasant.......
hate be negative but the boiler was noisy each time it fired up, causing disturbed sleep.
Room decor lovely
Missing out on breakfast having been given wrong time. Not cheap so felt cheated.
The current management and staff. Our last visit was over a year ago and at that time the hotel was tired, as were the staff. We thoroughly enjoyed this latest stay. Good menu, good food.
Car parks were rather gungy following overnight rain. Would have appreciated a working alarm clock, we forgot our own.
Clean, comfortable and welcoming
Only one chair in the bedroom. Walking across yard in rain to enter main building.
We were impressed by the room's decor and I liked the fresh coffee and shortbread in the room. We visited in order to explore the area inc Castle Combe and although the location was quite remote this wasn't a problem just for one night as there was a restaurant on site.
There was no information booklet in the room. We weren't told about breakfast times on arrival, and we didn't realise this until we were in bed. There was no phone in the room so had to ring the outside line to ask! Added to that, at breakfast we weren't told that the full English was optional and cost extra. That said the buffet continental breakfast was good. There was also a problem at dinner in the restaurant as we weren't told the kitchen closed at ten and when we tried to order dessert at ten past, we were told it was too late, without apology. Information packs and better staff training would have made this stay perfect!
Staff were lovel.Breakfast was fantastic.
Bed uncomfortable. Needs new mattress
Good location for visiting Bath, friendly staff, accommodating, nice atmosphere and good food.
The food was especially good, rare for pubs these days, albeit a bit expensive considering that Ford is only a small village. The duck was particularly good.
Just one detail: the cold, continental breakfast included with the room is very poor compared to similar pubs which nearly always include a warm breakfast these days.
All of stuff were Lovely and friendly and helpful, A clean lovely room , fantastic welcome basket and the white company facilities (which all girls will love) , and foods and drinks were so tasty!
Our room was above the pub main door and it was constant big knock and noise every time someone open and close it until late evening and started from early morning... and that room was coooooold.
Lovely and beautiful rooms, luxury touches with the white company products and fresh coffee with cafetiere and homemade biscuits. Comfy bed and thick curtains.
Bad sound insulation meaning pub outside and noises from other rooms kept me awake. Ear plugs would have been appreciated. Extra touch would have been caffeine free hot drink options (fruit/mint tea/decaf coffee). My shower was faulty and made a very loud noise when running on hot. Drains smelt bad when water draining. No plug socket near enough to mirrors for hair dryer.
Lovely building and location, close to Castle Combe and other interesting places. Very friendly helpful staff. Good food in the restaurant. Well designed and attractive bedroom.
This is very much a pub with rooms in a lovely old building, consequently there wasn't much soundproofing between rooms.
Pretty location on the river. Tasteful preservation of buildings. Rooms well appointed.
Part asbestos roof. Tacky bedroom fittings eg window catches, bathroom mirror, towel rail. Spoils overall bedroom/bathroom experience.
