Full of character
Room over pub so I could hear background music until 11.
We liked the room, the comfortable bed and facilities. The location was perfect for our shopping trip to the nearby Designer Outlet. Food was very good.
The only small negative was the service in the restaurant, but this could be excused as it was very busy and some staff were being trained.
Second visit good location great staff food and room of good standard very comfortable.
Bedroom decour fresh and contemporary, linen and bedding very comfortable, lovely touches in bathroom toiletries. The staff were all very approachable and helpful. The bar area has a lovely vibe and there is a lovely garden and outdoor seating area. The food was of a very high standard. Value for money was surprisingly reasonable.
The bedroom was too hot (November)! I needed to have the bedroom window open overnight which wasn't a problem as the location was very quiet but it felt wasteful. Very minor points but when I arrived the previous occupant had part consumed a bottle of water which hadn't been replaced with a fresh one and the bathroom bin wasn't emptied during my stay.
The room was great, the beers and choices for wine were very good. The food was lovely both at dinner and breakfast. Staff were all so pleasant and very helpful.
Staff charming and helpful
Street parking limited in time at most spaces.
I really can't praise The White Hart highly enough. We stayed in September 2014 as a one night half way stopover en route to Cornwall. We were two couples travelling with two dogs and it was so nice that our dogs were made to feel just as welcome as we were. We had high expectations from the excellent website but our actual stay far surpassed our expectations. We arrived mid afternoon and enjoyed a wide variety of drinks in the large garden at the back of the pub, followed by an amazing evening meal in the bar area, where our dogs were made to feel very welcome with water and treats. All food is locally sourced and cooked and presented beautifully. The breakfast the next morning was one of the best breakfasts I've ever tasted, with homemade granola, croissants and preserves and an amazing full English cooked in their wood fired oven. I work in hospitality management and expect good service and the staff at the White Hart certainly didn't disappoint. They were friendly, engaging, professional and went out of their way to ensure that every guest (including our dogs) were happy. Finally the decor is out of this world - wonderfully quirky, homely, lots of up-cycling of furniture teamed with high quality modern touches. The designer deserved an award for the decor alone. Lovely little touches like high quality locally made toiletries in the bathrooms, cafetiere's and fresh ground coffee in the bedrooms (with fresh milk supplied in vintage china jugs on request), beautiful quilts and pillows to mention just a few. I can't wait to go back and would recommended to anyone to do the same - you won't be disappointed I promise!
The one downside is there isn't a dedicated car park but there's lots of parking locally so it wasn't an issue at all, and the staff were really helpful in advising which were the best long stay spaces.
Cool but comfortable designer rooms in a great pub. Excellent breakfast. Professional service. Beautiful location in the Market Square.
Great place, staff lovely, great food
Bit warm in the room
The locale was idylic
That there was roof repairs going on. And being awakened at 6.am by the contractors. The manager said there had been a mix up in the scheduling with the contractor. He was supposed to start the following day when the hotel had stopped booking guests in until the work was done.
Room was well decorated, with very tasteful curtains. The King Size bed was really comfortable. The shower room was and the actual shower was absolutely fabulous. Room was very quiet so had a good nights sleep. really enjoyed our three nights stay.
Breakfast was OK but no egg cup for boiled egg poor selection of cereals but food was cooked well. Really hard to find any fault really. We did nor eat at the hotel apart from Breakfast
Had a homely feel, food and drink very good and staff excellent.
WiFi was not secure but that is nit picking, there was a warning.
Super atmosphere - staff charming and helpful. Food delicious and location lovely in the centre of a beautiful little town.
I had the most yummy breakfasts so hardly like to say, but might have liked something like smoked haddock and poached egg or kedgeree but honestly everything was really lovely so this is NOT a complaint just a suggestion.
Best breakfast ever. Good bar menu. Somerton very attractive historic town.
service room comfort and facilities food location
Beautiful characterful room. Lovely food in friendly pub. Nice pub garden with beautiful view. Extremely clean rooms. Wonderful base for exploring the area.
Not quite sure who we had to talk to with any issues. Staff all very friendly though and helpful when asked. Town is very very quiet, almost eerily so. Very pretty though. It says there is parking but there are only a couple of spaces in front of the pub on a narrow road. Otherwise there are restrictions. This should be made clear to visitors before they arrive.
Central position and the friendly staff who were extremely helpful in every way
Very friendly staff, excellent room and beautiful restaurant!
The overall finish of the accommodation is excellent, staff were friendly and helpful.
accommodation welcome food wi-fi works décor and styling it's a fun place
Excellent standard of room, size and bathroom to a very high standard. Garden and patio are delightful.
Not much flexibility of breakfast time, we were heading out early for the Air Day at Yeovilton (6 miles away), staff didn't realise it was taking place.
The rooms were lovely and a super bathroom. Good creams and lotions. Great to have a cafetiere with coffee in the room. Friendly staff
