Welcoming staff, reasonable bar food. nice breakfast
Noisy bar till 11.30 then very peaceful night.
Clean room with comfy bed. Had dinner and the food was very nice indeed. I will be back. Well done to the staff.
that you could take the dog
everything ! I nor my partner would not return again, due to the poor service of staff, food and cleanliness. We found the whole experience a little dissapointing.
Dog Friendly and a good breakfast.
Facilities were generally very poor and room was very tired with a lack of attention paid to making sure that it was as clean as could be. Beds were clean and good but no mattress protector and dirty light shades, broken mirror on sink, sink light not working and a plug that had been drilled to allow it to be fastened to the chain...so the water leaked out!
The location is very good. Breakfast is ok.
The rooms are right over the bar and the late night drinking and parties keep you awake. You dont just hear the noise, you feel it !!! The dog all over you at breakfast is just not on. It runs wild. Its not aggressive, just there all over you. The pub is not the cleanest, needs a good decorate and refurb. There is a function room and the guests use the residents toilet - not a good idea to have 50 people using one single toilet that should be reserved for residents.
Ambiance sympa. Bon accueil. Good atmosphere, friendly welcome.
Le bruit du pub, juste en dessous, à éviter avec des enfants. Les toilettes sur le palier (pour le prix!). Noisy pub just below room. Communal bathroom and toilet (I mean, for the price you might expect to have your own toilet & shower!!).
The village ..great history.
Poor roads ...
The pub is a good location in the centre of the small town. The staff were fairly polite and I could come and go as I pleased.
Extremely noisy. It turns out my first night there was the pub quiz, which was extremely loud in the bedroom. As well as that, I could hear children's TV music upstairs from the landlords apartment well into the night and this was surprisingly loud. I'm sure nobody meant it to be noisy, but perhaps it's just the nature of the building that sound carries very easily. The room is extremely basic, with just a bed, sink and small TV, and the shared shower/bathroom doesn't have any soap in it. There is a pub dog who is overly friendly at breakfast and will jump up and try to sit on you when you sit down. I don't mind personally, but no apology or effort to move him was given, and I know there are people out there who this would terrify. I personally felt the place was overpriced, but served its function nevertheless.
comfortable rooma great breakfast
Good beer and breakfast. Friendly landlord and locals.
Very tired fabric and much of it, particularly some of the electricals in my bedroom seemed to be the result of amateur D.I.Y. The price I paid was a third more than I paid for an excellent B&B the next night in Cambridge.
The establishment is not professional by any means and the facilities are not up to standard. If you want a nice relaxing hygienic time do not go here.
The room was very basic but had a television and tea making facilities certainly ideal for an overnight stay. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was very nice with a choice of food.
There was a karoake on that evening but we didn't know til we arrived. My mother who is 85 came with me and it was a bit loud in the room for her but we watched television until it finished. She was quite happy and i am sure she would stay again.
Staff in the evening were good Staff in the morning were rude unhelpful. we heard an argument with swearing in the kitchen because I sent back a cold sausage. I eventually gave up on getting another sausage so left and ate elsewhere. Very disappointed!!
flexible friendly staff. Hotel was in the right place for my needs at a reasonable cost.

Parking Space and Beer Garden in the back yard Nice Pub and very friendly staff
Liked breakfast and value and location
Dog in dining room no wash basin in toilet no napkins at breakfast and no offer of top up for tea or coffee 3 people in room only 2 mugs and only 4 sachets of milk not good . My husband thought customer service was poor nice people but no conversation didnt ask if everything was ok . A few attention to detail like clean tables would make this fantastic value 4 money
Parking, friendly staff, prices, i managed to break the bed first night and they fixed it straight away without any fees etc.
Good value for money
As to be expected from Pub accommodation the noise levels were rather high and continued for some time.
Brekkie was included at no extra cost which is amazing value. Bed was fine, room was fine, bathroom was spotless, owners were very friendly. Even had tea making facilities in the room. Very happy.
It is above a pub and looks onto the road so obviously not for you if the distant hum of pub noise/traffic bothers you. It didn't bother us but some folk are funny about these things.
The beds was really clean and comfortable and the service was great
The noise from the band it was very loud and my young son couldn't sleep until they finished
Friendly Place good position in a lovely town with good walks .Tasty breakfasts.
No plug in the wash hand basin.
Lovely settings nice looking hotel, bar was quite nice and clean staff very friendly
Dirty carpets room hadn't been cleaned very well breakfast was ok but we were constantly bothered by the owners dog whilst eating breakfast!
Typical old English pub. Food good. Right in middle of town.
Facilities a little tired.
I arrived very late in the evening but checking in was quick, friendly and professional. As I had to leave again before 5am a breakfast tray was left ready for me. The hotel itself is beautiful with real charm - my room comfortable and clean. Any potential visitors must bear in mind that the rooms are above the bar and some at the front of a road so some noise can be expected. I would go again.
