Lovely town, has everything you need in walking distance. Locals are all friendly, offering recommendations to attractions and places to eat. If you get a chance, check out the paramount cinema, classic one screen cinema with plenty of seating, an bar open during intermission and affordable tickets!

The staff in arrival were attentive. The breakfast staff looked after us and checked we had everything we needed. We didn’t have dinner the night we arrived because we were shattered but the meals offered were fairly priced . If we visited again we would book an evening meal on our stay.

A good place to stay for visiting local attractions - in our case Canon Hall Farm. The restaurants we ate at during our two night stay served excellent food - Ti amo (Italian) and Cinnamon Spice (Indian)

Penistone is a short drive away and has a Tesco, Coop, and Spar to do your shopping. There is a fish and chip shop (although closed when we were there) and a really lovely Italian restaurant and takeaway called Ti Amo. I think there is easy access to the Pennine Way although the only time we spent in town was to get food shopping.

A small market town within a short distance from out accommodation. A smattering of pubs and a British Legion Club plus some decent shops make this a less hectic place to visit than somewhere like Holmfirth.

Good shops, Coop supermarket and Tesco.

Good shops, Coop supermarket and Tesco. Very friendly people. Variety of eating places. Penistone handy for visiting lots of interesting places, hence us wanting to stay there again ( we spent two fabulous days at Cannon Hall farm - superb! ). Advantage of being in a relatively quiet town rather than bustling city.

Immaculate room and bathroom, good breakfast with lovely home-made jam, friendly welcoming host in a beautifully restored traditional house. The location in the centre of Penistone suited us as it was near family with whom we were visiting, but would also suit walkers and cyclists passing through. Shops and cafes etc are a few minutes walk away. The parking was on street in front but we found a space easily enough. Resident dog Skye, a quiet and friendly collie, is a star attraction! We'd be happy to stay here again.

We stayed here just the one night as part of a cycling trip. Its location just outside Penistone was good for us and with secure bike storage was a very good choice. Yvonne was very friendly, helpful and cooked a very nice Lasagne. She also helped with the luggage transfer. After arriving early evening after cycling from Marple, we enjoyed the bar service and footy on TV in the outdoor covered space. If doing a cycle trip in this area and need an overnight stop..its a good choice.

The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, and utensils, it's very good if you plan on cooking during your stay. The location is utterly beautiful and well-connected. The flat itself is right in the centre of Penistone and within a five minute walk of every amenity in town, and only a short walk from several parks and footpaths. The flat is nice and spacious, with modern decor and a very bachelor-like feel.

Lovely private location in a rural setting Easy check in Easy to find Close to penistone railway station (5 min drive) Plenty of resources supplied (wood, charcoal, cutlery and cooking supplies, and a lovely welcome pack with bread/milk/eggs etc) Pets welcomed and the front garden was enclosed and secure Good contact with the host but we were also sufficiently left to our own devices

Beautiful place to stay, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Paul and Sophie (not forgetting their Border Collie Sky) were fantastic hosts, very friendly and gave us great tips about places to visit. The full English breakfasts were to die for! 😊😊 More than happy to recommend Lyndene to family and friends planning on staying in the Penistone vicinity without hesitation.

A lovely little cottage, very close to the centre of Penistone. Plenty of room for us, with three adults and two teenagers. The cottage is warm and cosy and tastefully decorated. There is a parking space, and more nearby. Check in was easy. Clean and well equipped.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bedroom was spotlessly clean, as was the whole hotel. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and it was good to have a variety of places to sit to eat - inside and out. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Perfect location for what we had planned for the weekend. It was the first time holidaying in a house rather than a hotel/B&B and we found it to be a nice quiet house, where we could come and go as we pleased and eat when we wanted.
